Benjani 1976 is back with a Snowtrooper Costume!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 31 2016
"First post in years, been busy with family life in general and moving about, busy with work but did manage to finish a snowtrooper to go with the TK I did a while back.

Jango almost done and anakin so robes about the halfway point.

Had a good day out at London comic con, stopped for about 100 pics in only a few hours. Apparently rare to see a full snowtrooper at these events looking like the real McCoy.
Definitely do it again next year, maybe even get the chance to get in a pic with Mr Vader himself."

Nice Snowtrooper build and it was great to see him back!

Ron Hembling starts a Boba Fett Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 30 2016
"Hi All,

Next Project - Boba Fett

This is a commission piece and showed the client the design and he was very happy the way it was looking like so far. I still need to glue the joints and putty them up and add the tissue paper to the cloth sections of the uniform.

I still have to do more damage to the hull section which it is made using plastic card and I used hand drill to drill out the pivots. The base is a thick piece of balsa just cut to size and the blue foam will be a small rock out crop."

Matter of Fact he got the hull damage done too. I will put the video below. You can also follow along with images in his Project Thread.

OC47150 is back with four new customs...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 30 2016
"A few more customs to show off.

A post-ROTS Bail Organa. Repainted a Bespin guard body and the cape from the casual Biggs Darklighter for a little flair. Also added a little grey to Bail's temples.

This is what when the Star Wars and SHIELD universes collide. A bad a$$ Mace.

I came across the rough Bad Batch episodes from the Clone Wars, and really liked Hunter, the leader of the group. I used one of the TRU exclusive stealth ops clone trooper body's and the head from the GI Joe Spirit figure. Tried to match the paint scheme as much as I possibly could based on the pix."

I would like to think ole Mace didn't bite it during Order 66 time myself!

Star-Fall Webcomic Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 28 2016
"Tonight is night 6 and our final night of the Star-Fall SDCC custom action figure tribute. We've been unveiling new custom action figure work from the series each night, and we've saved the best for last! We're bringing you the first HD look at the concept art for the first major villain to be featured in an upcoming Star-Fall story line.

Tastron Moloch, is a Tellassii Death Priest, an evil maejj and a weaver of foul maegicks, most unnatural. He wields the Staff of Envy and his headdress is bedecked with the preserved rotting skulls of the lineage of masters of his order of the Sha-Aall--the Daiieth Speikers. His breathing apparatus supplies him with a steady flow of vapors of the decayed which allow him to sustain his life indefinitely."

Wow, talk about one cool custom!

Not my first concept for this Heavy Gunner of mine as I had an all new different style of Heavy Gunner Stormtrooper helmet built out and resin cast but did not get to finish painting it in time. So...here's my alternate custom AT-AT Heavy Gunner figure with all resin cast waist/hip pouches and an all new custom made weapon."

I know I sure like the look. It is almost time to vote for our favorite. I just have one more to feature and we are set.

JDeck shows us the last Custom Raider...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 27 2016
"Otaktay was a Weekway warrior, who formed a resitance against the Imperial occupation. For this the Empire destroyed his entire village. His life was spared, so he could live alone in shame, for standing up to the Empire. He was then captured by Pirates, to be sold as a slave to the Hutts. However he was able to convince the captain to hire him on the crew. The only compensation he wanted was revenge. Otaktay and the crew were on a routine mission to steal an imperial cargo ship, but it was a trap. Their ship was surrounded by Star Destroyers, and fatally struck. However they were able to crash land on a nearby planet. Again Otaktay was the only survivor. He was rescued by a rebel scout and nursed back to health. Later he was debriefed by Major Panno, and became one of the Raiders.

That's it for Panno's Raiders. He's a POTF2 Weekway+ Orrimarrko + col. Cracken hands.

I added a scarf made of an old work shirt. His hair is my own. It may sound gross, but I think it looks good. And I gave him some warrior face paint."

I really enjoyed this project.

Star-Fall Webcomic Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 27 2016
"Night 5 of the Star-Fall SDCC custom tribute brings us to a character that we've seen briefly in the Star-Fall webcomic on the cover of chapter 1.

Leyva "3-Tails" Heidaya is a Wayfarer Frontiersman and crewmate of J'Vaadus Nu. She introduces us to yet another new alien race, the Faundayrians an advanced spacefaring people descended from ancient burrowing rodents found in the Faund system. They were one of the non-human species to join the Wayfarers. For every time Leyva has been close to death she ties her the hair of her mane into another "tail".

She looks fantastic!

The Closet Jedi updates us on his Star Destroyer Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 27 2016
"So I have been working on ISD V 0.5. I had 2 smaller pieces ordered so I could get a sense of scale and to figure out how much of a slant the walls needed to be as well as how much of a curve I should add to the windows."

Also I wanted to make sure I was happy with the design. I wanted to make sure that I would be able to easily glue and sand the pieces together before I had to do it on a much larger piece. It is very difficult to go from the computer straight to building with out something to put your hands on. I needed to see the pieces so I could gauge how the curve of the windows would work."

Trust me folks that is just the beginning of the update. It is gonna be fantastic!

Star-Fall Webcomic Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 26 2016
"We're kicking off night 4 of the Star-Fall SDCC custom action figure tribute in the Dreamer's Burden medical bay. All long-flight Star-Cavalry starships have a medical bay where crewers can go for treatment for anything from stasis sickness to mortal wounds sustained in combat.

Since losing her right arm and leg in the line of duty, Nef makes regular visits to the medical bay for prosthesis maintenance and physical therapy to ensure she continues to make a full recovery. Because she's there so often, she's become friendly with the staff--especially Combat Doctor Myejka Kitfrost, a young battlefield medical officer and head of the combat trauma team. It was Myejka that helped Nef adjust to her first combat model prostheses when she returned to active duty status. From there the two became fast friends."

It is great seeing this SDCC Customizing Tribute!

Starchasers gets his Gunner In for the for the latest customizing challenge!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 25 2016
"Cref Pteska - from Corulag recruited to the Armored Calvary attached to the special forces Lightning Battalion. Cref was part of the infamous Vestar campaign, during which most of his unit was destroyed. Cref's marksmanship with the heavier weapons of the Armored Cavalry was well-known and earned him the moniker "Flare" ("because," his fellow soldiers said, "he lights 'em up."). Due to his reputation, his senior officers re-designated him as Heavy Armor and made him a door gunner on an AT-AT, attaching him to a newly formed unit made up of the surviving members of previous units called, appropriately, "The Misfits." Because he was previously associated with the Lightning Battalion, Cref was allowed to paint his armor a non-standard blue and he sports the lightning bolts on his helmet shield.

Recipe:
Helmet = Saga Collection AT-AT Driver
Body = Saga Legends Snowtrooper
Back armor = Saga Collection Snowtrooper (torso cracked opened and dremmeled out to fit)
Gun = the pack in from the TFA figures

I turned the AT-AT Driver's chest piece sideways, added a side column for symmetry and then cut off, re-oriented and re-attached the hoses. Then I used black coated wire to form the hoses that run between the back of the helmet and the "ear pieces" of the helmet."

He looks great to me. Look for us to feature the rest of the entries each day this week and then we will start the poll for you to pick your favorite!

Star-Fall Webcomic Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 25 2016
"Welcome to part 3 of the Star-Fall SDCC custom action figure tribute. Tonight we're introducing another male Star-Cavalry officer to the crew to round out our cast of characters. The Star-Cavalry ranks are comprised of 1000s of different species from 100s of star systems all working together to help safeguard the Altarus Starcluster.

T'ennick Taa Dvaan is a Gemling junior officer serving in the astronavigation corps aboard Nef's ship Dreamer's Burden. T'ennick was born to a military family on the smallest Gemling moon, Gemaan'Taa."

I am liking this SDCC Spread!

This is a TAC Elis Helrot figure, slightly repainted, with the head from a ‘Schleich’ deer figure, slightly remodelled and repainted. The robe is from the Episode I Naboo accessory set.

Not sure whether to put a tail on it, I don’t want it to get in the way when it’s seated."

I agree you want him to be able to sit!

Darth Daddy is back with an update...

"We've fallen behind on documenting our blog posts lately.

Here are two new ones:

"332nd CLONE TROOPER"
created by Elias

CLONE WARS
"CHAM SYNDULLA"
work in progress by Darth Daddy

I only did a quick simple paint job on the head to finish him in time for our podcast. To wrap this figure up, I only need to finish painting the head tattoos, darken his skintone, and do some touch ups here and there throughout. I may also make a few adjustments to the headsculpt still."

They look good to me.

Star-Fall Webcomic Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 24 2016
"Welcome back! For part 2 of the 6 night SDCC Star-Fall tribute, we're debuting a never before seen character! A while back some of you expressed interest in seeing some male Star-Cavalry officers--now at long last they're finally here!

He's a high ranking Star-Cavalry officer and a SvvawkharR: an amphibtile species descended from one of the first ancient races to explore and chart the Altarus Star Cluster.

Lt. SssyveKk is the chief of security aboard Nef's supply ship, Dreamer's Burden. A strict but compassionate man, SssyveKk trains his officers to regard every member of the crew with an air of suspicion. No one is beyond scrutiny. No one is ever completely innocent. Everyone has something to hide. When there's a case afoot, you can trust SssyveKk and his security team to get to the bottom of it. "Ssssomeone issss ssssspending the night in the brig!"

Works for me!

Mandalore 25 finishes his 196th Custom!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 24 2016
"Figure #196, Zora Tunic Link from Ocarina of Time, with Iron Boots, Hookshot, and Bottled Goods. Not as big as others leading up to my 200th figure, but definitely fancy as it is a Figma figure, and I did make the accessories from scratch. The base figure is just a repaint, with the Iron Boots sculpt on. I made the Hookshot out of an IG-88 head, plastic rods, magnets, and some bracelet chain. The hand it stuck on the Hookshot, so you need to switch hands for him not to be holding, but the figure comes with many hands so that's not a problem. It also has an extension piece, where you take off the tip, and put a chain I hardened with superglue in. Inside the bottles (bought them off ebay at like 5 cents per bottle), one has Green potion, achieved by putting clear green paint in the bottle, and the other has a fairy that I made from using clear pink on a small clear plastic sphere, with wings cut from a clear plastic sheet.

The shield I made a while back, and just the shield is available here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Legend-of-Zelda-OoT-Figma-Link-action-figure-scale-painted-Mirror-Sheild-/351582295690?hash=item51dbf0168a:g:yEQAAOSwhMFXk7h4"

Looks good to me. Still reeling from that many custom action figures!

"The day before the contest finishes I get a friend to deliver a rush package w/some parts for this I needed, so after hours of working on it today... here are some pics for my entry.

Figure is a Saga Legends Snowtrooper w/removable helmet.

Chest box is an extention cord plug in plastic prong-hole cover i slit the middle of and added greeblies and touch up with a pen to.

The white tubes from it leading to the back are clear tie-backs that was holding down a Legacy Dewback still in box that I had lying around.

The gun and swing arm are just a standard black series stormtrooper rifle but the "claw" and arm holding it is one of those gawd awful build-a-weapon pieces I cut and glued in a new formation with the gun in the prongs and a wire glued for feed-effect.

The helmet is an AT-AT driver w/a pair of wires in the back to link up to the "ears" and the box in the back is from the clonewars era clone pilot, the front emblem flap is also from the same clone wars pilot helm just cut and glued. Sadly due to the extreme rush of the helm work I only had time to print out a clear sticker for the helm art in as close as I could get it.. normally I'd have it measured and stuff the art was made by me using GIMP v2! cutting and pasting in a furious rush!"

Well he made it in time and it looks fantastic! Remember folks today is the last day to enter your challenge Gunner. Full Details here!

Star-Fall Webcomic Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 23 2016
"Hey Yarders! After about 2 months in the Star-Fall custom creation laboratory, we're back with 8 more brand new characters! In honor of SDCC we're going to be debuting new figures each night for the next 6 nights in a row!

If you follow us on Facebook, Twitter , or Instagram: @star_fall_productions then chances are you may have seen some sneak preview images of some of our next wave of figures. Now here they are in all their HD glory.

To kick it off we want to introduce the toughest, most heavily armed and armored, ground units the Star-Cavalry has to offer: Siege Marines."

Sounds good to me!

"TX-1138 aka, "Tex", was an experimental reconnaissance droid developed by the Alliance Intelligence Command. The basic design was a resurrection of the Separatist B2 battle droid, however the central processor had been completely upgraded. TEX was programmed with a library of information, including Star and Planetary maps. As well as blueprints, schematics and readouts for every known Imperial; ship, fighter and ground vehicle. He was also programmed to know all Imperial protocol and decipher Imperial codes. He didn't have much of a personality, he was built to obey orders and relay information he did not feel emotions, or understand figurative language. This was problematic, as he had the tendency to carry out orders to its most literal extent."

High Rez Images of the EE Astro-Mech Set...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 21 2016
I forgot to post these images yesterday (busy day). What a cool set. Here is what you get:

"Star Wars Astromech Droids 3 3/4-Inch Figures - EE Exclusive:
Entertainment Earth Exclusive
!

Jabba's bartender was never given an official name in the books or movies, but his design may remind you of some Earth-based beverages. With his drink dispenser, seven glasses, and a tray harness, this never-before-fully-seen droid served aboard Jabba the Hutt's sail barge. Also, if you look to the shadows, you may find him in Return of the Jedi. We recommend skipping the shadows and getting one of our droids to keep on your desk and another in your Jabba's palace dioramas and playsets (sold separately).

Serving the Shadow Squadron during The Clone Wars, R7-F5 appeared briefly in the episode "Shadow of Malevolence." Ideally suited for a Y-Wing bomber, this diminutive orange droid will look fantastic with the rest of your Grand Army of the Republic, or in your droid pool.

Think pink with D-Squad's own KT-QT. Aayla Secura's pink droid had a special magnet and was sent into enemy territory to recover a secret encryption module for the Republic. Take special note of the top of her dome, as there are yellow and black markers indicating where special upgrades were placed during her time as a spy. You can meet her during several episodes of The Clone Wars.

Plo Koon's R7-D4 makes his movie action figure line debut here! He's a dark maroon color with a gray and white highlights. This droid makes six appearances on The Clone Wars.

Everything's gonna be all right with RC-C2 and a moon pie. We expect you may find both in the home of Black Sun crime lord Ziro the Hutt. This dapper dispenser of potent portable potables is decorated with Black Sun tattoos in gray, blue, and red. There are no other robots quite like him in the galaxy, plus he includes everything you need to help aliens get their drink on at a snazzy underground party. You'll find him in The Clone Wars movie, but the toy can only be found here.

Rounding out the collection is R2-A5. If he looks familiar, he should. You first saw him in 1977! This white and green robot was seen rolling around Mos Eisley near Luke's landspeeder when the Imperial Sandtroopers and Stormtroopers came to ask about various droids they were looking for. You know how that story ends, but did you also know that this figure represents a droid design that was removed from the movie during the Special Edition edits of 1997? It's true! Bring home a lost piece of movie history with this remarkable figure and the entire exclusive action figure set."

The Spectre is back with some Custom Gorgons!

"Excerpt from "The Galactic Almanac Of Developed Species" (Fourth Edition):

The most elusive sentient species on Tolkien III is the Gorgon race. The Gorgons are an ancient reptilian race that at one point in the planet's distant history ruled the majority of its surface and the races that inhabit it. But that was long ago and the Gorgon empire has been reduced to a pale shadow of its former glory."

And folks that is just the start of his backstory and the pics of the Gorgons are fantastic!

Darth Streams is 3D Printing!

"Hello everyone!

I haven't been able to make that much with my full time work and full time school, but soon one of those will be ending (school) so I hopefully will get back into the swing of things. I recently got a 3D printer so just wanted to share some of the stuff I've printed or made with it. The lightsaber is 8 different parts and I found an Stl for it online. The naga Sadow sith pure blood head is sculpted by me in sculptris, converted from obj to Stl, and scaled and converted to gcode (format printer understands) in cura."

Wow, that is so cool. Just print the parts you want! I so think this is the trend of future customizing!

Please vote for the Hasbro Fans Choice Poll!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 19 2016
"Which icon of a galaxy far, far away will be the next to join Hasbro’s critically-acclaimed, highly-detailed Star Wars: The Black Series line of 6-inch figures? You decide — starting now!

The results are in from qualifying-round polls at Star Wars fan sites in Hasbro’s Star Wars Fan Figure Vote — where you get to choose which Star Wars character will be made into an action figure — and you can now cast your vote to decide the winner. Last year, fans picked Revan, and runner-up Sabine is also set to join the Black Series. The finalists this year, seen below, come from across the saga and across mediums: video games, The Clone Wars animated series, Legends stories, and more. (Unfortunately, no Kitster. Again…) This’ll be a tough one, but to quote Darth Sidious, “You must choose!”

The poll will be open right up until Hasbro’s San Diego Comic-Con Star Wars panel on Friday, July 22, at 12 p.m. PT, where a winner will be announced. Until then, exercise your galactic right and vote!"

I couldn't agree more!

Remco cosplays at Celebration London!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 19 2016
"So I'm back home from what was all in all another great European SW Celebration! I was also present at the first SWCE, back in 2007, which was also in London. However, I was there only for one day. In 2013, as some of you know, I went to Essen, Germany, to attend all three days.

The big difference between Essen '13 and London '16 is that London had a lot more visitors, making it more difficult to see everything one wanted to see. I didn't take as many pictures as i did in Germany, but that's also because I decided to do a cosplay of some sorts. I recently bought an EFX ST helmet and ordered a pristine white business suit. The suit is still on its way, but I happened to have a black suit as a backup."

It looks like great fun and I am anxious to see what else he shares from his trip.

Jon K is back with a new KOTOR2 Custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 18 2016
"Here's Atton Rand and a quick G0-T0 from KOTOR2. I've had Atton 90% finished for ages, but was having a hard time finding a head I liked. I'm pretty happy with the likeness, took me forever to find the right parts for his weird triple shoulder vest thing.

Atton recipe:
Talon Karrde torso, legs and jacket, with the torso reworked in greenstuff for the shirt flaps.
TVC Nikto arms
GI Joe Retaliation Mouse head
30th Anniversary AT-RT driver hands

G0-T0 is made from the POTF2 IT-O Interrogation droid, hacked apart, holes patched and flipped over with new, more minimal tools added to look more like the droid from the game."

Talk about a great recipe for both figures. They look awesome!

The Hot Toys Rey is up for pre-order!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 18 2016
"In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans were introduced to our new heroine Rey and her incredible journey in assisting the Resistance to stop the First Order’s menacing plan and find the legendary Luke Skywalker.

In honor of the 2016 Star Wars Celebration, Sideshow and Hot Toys are delighted to celebrate this special occasion and are excited to introduce a new exclusive sixth scale collectible figure of the beloved Rey in her new Resistance outfit as seen in the epic moment of the film where we meet Luke Skywalker once again.

The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Daisy Ridley as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring the highly detailed head sculpt, meticulously tailored outfit as seen in the final scenes of the film, Rey’s signature staff, a blaster pistol, Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber hilt, and a hexagonal figure stand with the Resistance’s emblem."

She looks spot on to me!

Vazali grew up in an Aristocratic home, his Grandfather took him on many big game hunting expeditions, there he learned the skills and discipline needed to become the best marksman in the Alliance."

Gold Leader One is back with a Chewie Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 16 2016
"I started working on a super articulated Chewbacca figure from TFA today. It's practically done, I just would like to get a lighter brown and go over it in some areas. The body of the figure is from the Early Bird Revenge of the Sith set. What I did was I dry brushed with a dark brown, painting over the Kashyyyk paint job. I used the boil and pop method to remove the head. I trimmed the peg down and popped the TFA Chewie head on."

Make sure you click the link to see the recipe. I think he turned out great!

Have you seen Dag Marus' Dios yet?

Sjefke is back with a great new custom gal...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 16 2016
"Here's another of the ladies that CloneCrazy commissioned. This one is Queen Talia. CC wanted her to look like Evanora from Oz the Great and Powerful

I used Marvel Universe, Sue Richards as the base figure. I casted the head of Depa Billaba and sculpted a very intricate hair piece. All the bobs are ink ideally sculpted and attached to the head with fabric covered elastic, which allows full range of motion of the head. They're basically address label elastics so from the airport. I had to grind down her chest (she still looks like Dolly Parton).

I'm really proud of the soft goods. The dress is the finger of a green nitrile glove which I slipped over her legs. The belt is all sculpted. The collar is all black feathers. I made emeralds with 2 component resin mixed with a little emerald paint and green sparkles. Each one is a tiny, smaller than a millimeter drop. Finally, the emerald necklace is a separate piece complete with a fine silver metal wire as the chain and a staple clip as the setting.

That's it for now. The Red Witch is next, but she's got some really fun features that CloneCrazy hasn't revealed yet, so patience."

Talk about some fantastic work on this one. Awesome job Sjefke!

Commander Kurgan is back!

The Closet Jedi shares progress on his SD Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 16 2016
"So my star destroyer project is coming out very nicely. I laid it out so there is room for both “pits”. This means the window needs to be large enough for the pits to fit in front of the Window. Also had to make sure the window openings were large enough to seem in scale with the figures.

The “Pits” are ready to be printed and made. The designs are good and were not difficult to design.

The window is a lot more complicated. Not sure if the perspective of the image is realistic or some sort of “fisheye lens Effect” I have modeled the window to be straight up and down. I can always change its orientation towards the end once all of the other details have been finalized.

Expect a major update next week with some pieces already 3d printed."

It looks like it is gonna be awesome.

Dag Marus shows up with some great dioramas!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 15 2016
"Started this a few months ago and love how it turned out. I'm working with a friend to have new footcups 3d printed so it isn't just cardboard inserts giving the appearance. At some point, if I can spare the scratch for it, I'd love to add the missing AT-AT hatches. (I got this one for super cheap as it was pretty much bare bones).

Trust me that is but one of two other great dioramas he has posted. Now that is the way to introduce yourself!

Stronox makes the ultimate Thrawn!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 14 2016
"This is a recent commission I just finished up. I combined parts from the Vintage Collection Quinlan Vos to give Thrawn more height (as he should be 1.8 m tall) and also the added hip articulation. I then made sure to replace the tiny upper arms with better ones as well for good proportions. I created the epaulettes in a way so that there would be no rubbing as well. Painted everything per the customer's requests and voila! My client is uber excited as am I that he gets to have a one of a kind creation of his favorite character!"

If I were the customer I would be pretty happy too. This has to be the ultimate version of this character. Oh Hasbro! Take some notes here please!

JDeck gives us a new Raider!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 14 2016
"Corporal Gorf Timrek (right in the above image), was an Ishi Tib explosives expert. To say he was a pyromaniac would be an understatement. He very rarely used a blaster due to loss of dexterity in his shooting hand during an explosives incident. His boisterous personality would lend comic relief to stressful situations, but it could get annoying at times.

Pretty simple figure POTF2 Ishi Tib+ TLC Major Panno. He reminds me of a cross between Kermit the frog and Clint Eastwood. I added a poncho, bandolier with proximity mines, and a soft goods bag that holds three explosive charges. I soaked the poncho in a water/PVA glue mixture so it clings better, for a realistic look."

I had to include the image he used for all three of his latest custom figures as I thought it was one cool shot.

Sjefke is back with an update!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 12 2016
"Hey Yarders

I've been between residences for the last few months, so all my stuff has been boxed up, but I have been sitting pics of a few customs that I didn't want to reveal until CloneCrazy posted his latest PN Will of the Force, chapter Friends and Foes.

Here is the first of several featured Force sensitive females. This one was inspired by a Jedi I saw on DeviantArt.

The base figure is a ScarJo Black Widow, with the head of On Stranger Tides, Penelope Cruz. I sculpted the tunic and the waist wrap with green stuff. The skirt is blue nitrile. Her mantle is a coarse black cloth, secured in place with Locktite flexible glue."

JDeck finishes his Rebel AT-RT!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 12 2016
"I made the Rebel AT-RT rider. Her name is Vero Nikta, at a young age she was involved with the Free Ryloth movement. She had become a proficient systems hacker and saboteur. She was also quite well at stealing Imperial vehicles. Her vehicle of choice is an AT-RT she had stolen from Ryloth's Imperial Patrol Unit. Eventually she was sought out by Major Panno himself to join the Raiders. She plays a vital role in the squad as a hacker, when the team needs access codes, or intelligence for covert operations."

She sure looks perfect for that AT-RT to me!

JDeck fills us in on new kits coming from Bandai!

Sing is able to establish herself as a distinguishable and respectable Jedi. This little twist of fate allows for other differences. The evil that grows with the mysterious Sith is thwarted by Sing and her friend Anakin Skywalker. They discover Palpatine's plans for Galaxy conquest and stop him before he implements Order 66. "So http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?topic=10111.msg194906#msg194906I am Hoping to fund the building of 2 huge dioramas which i will post pictures of in My diorama thread and Facebook

All my pieces are 3d printed at shapeways.com. You just cant get the level of resolution and detail on a consumer level printer yet. Also some of these models take along time to print. Its just not practical for me to print these myself. ..... And yes the prices listed are for real.

I would also like to be able to make a big order and use the proceeds directly to fund the Dioramas i am building for my self.

I am also thinking of selling some items i print myself to go towards buying a dedicated printer just for sales. This would also have to be a big initial order so i can buy a second printer.

SO feel free to take a look and please email me at Theclosetjedi@gmail.com if you have any questions."

This next custom is a FNAF (Five Nights at Freddy's) for those that don't of it, it is a jump fright game set inside a Freddy FazBear's pizzeria where you are a security guard and have to stop the animatronics from killing you.

This custom is based on Freddy, I got the idea from a picture I saw on the net and loved the idea of the animatronics looking beat up and looking scary.

The figure is from Funko and I removed the lower jaw and removed the original teeth and added plastic card on the inside of the jaw and made new teeth from plastic card. Small greeblieswere added just inside of the right jaw to simulate the movement rod is broken that is why his jaw has fallen away.

The right eye was done by drilling out the old eye and adding a new one using a small ball joint and drilling a hole in the back and attaching wires, the left year was removed and wires were glued in place.

The left hand was removed and I made a animatronic one using plastic card and plastic rod. The right arm was removed and I drilled a hole and glued wires inside.

The stomach was drilled out and I inserted greeblies so they look like a motor and frame work and the right foot was removed and I made a new animatronic one by using plastic card.

Next up painting.

Ron"

Ron definitely doesn't let the grass grow under his feet!

Ron Hembling finishes his Death Star Light...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 10 2016
"Hi All,

The DS Light Display is now complete and I will get some outdoor pics tomorrow.

I completed the DS by repaint the panels a darker grey and then I did dry brushes of lighter greys and silver. Once the dry brush was dry I then gave the whole thing two light washes of matt back.

Ron"

Wow did that turn out great. Wait till you see how it lights up!

Gold Leader One weathers up the new Falcon...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 10 2016
"Tonight I weathered up TFA Millennium Falcon. I thought it was just too bland looking. The circles in the front, and the square pieces near the cockpit and rear of the ship I dry brushed with black until the area was filled. Then I dry brushed again with some gray so it wasn't too dark. Really happy with the end result."

I would be too as the results are pretty drastic. In a good way!

Gold Leader One is back with a Blaster re-paint...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 9 2016
"I found this in my basement tonight. It's a DL-44 blaster that's a squirt gun, which I had when I was a kid. I just did a quick repaint and made it a bit more real looking. I repainted the orange on the scope black, and painted the tip of the gun silver. I also painted the knob looking parts silver as well. Finally I dry brushed the gun with some black to give it a used look. I also super-glued the black piece on the handle. That's where you would fill it up with water, after all these years it was coming loose very easily.

I just wanted to give it a bit of a replica feel and I'm quite happy with how it turned out."

I would be too, it turned out great!

JDeck continues work on his Rebel Alliance AT-RT...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 9 2016
"I'm almost finished with the vehicle part. I weathered it, added some bags, equipment, weapons and so on. I spliced the main gun with the heavy repeater from the Bandai stormtrooper kit. Its bigger and more detailed than the original. I just need to touch it up a bit. Then finish the figure, and make some kind of jungle scene.

I get a lot of inspiration for these vehicles from WW2 movies. I watched Castle Keep the other day. I liked the beginning when they were drudging through the mud in that old jeep. i might make it something like that."

This one looks like it is gonna turn out as cool as his Rebel AT-TE!

Jedi Minstrel shows us a new Jedi ...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 8 2016
"A little salute to the Olympics.

Along with Chi'lee, of the Jedi Commandos that did not survive was a Chagrian by the name of Hon'gree M'te. The council was hesitant to send M'te on this mission due to his "less than calm" approach to mediation. He once brought peace to a planet by having two warring factions select 4 warriors each. They were to compete in several games to decide a victor. The side with the most wins, won the war. After days of competition, one of the factions was declared the winner, but the warriors of the winning side would not accept their prize. They told their leaders they would forfeit their wins unless they agreed to peaceful and respectful integration of both factions. Weeks of debate on both sides finally came to an end. To celebrate the unification, an annual festival of games were held. Over the next several years, other tribes and factions joined the unified peoples. On the 10th anniversary of the Games, M'te was asked to be the Overlord (the official head judge). He accepted. Soon afterwards, he joined Chi'lee and 22 others to aid in the defense of the Trelay Sector. M'te was killed in their final battle with a Sith Lord."

He always creates the most excellent back stories!

So cool to see these obscure characters in action figure form. I love it!

The Closet Jedi shares a new project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 8 2016
"I was very excited to to complete the project. The project turned out amazing. The consoles them selves were not difficult to model since i had something pretty close to it already done. I just had to change the profile and add all the details. The middle wall was the most difficult to do since it was a completely new model and i had to start from scratch at least 6 times before i got it right.

I probably could have made an exact replica but when you shrinking down a 7 or 8 foot wall to 5 1/2 inches you have to make certain design choices so it doesn't look too busy or crowded in the space you have to work with.

Here are shots of the middle wall in varying stages."

It looks great to me!

Ron Hembling shares new work on his DS Light...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 7 2016
"Hi All,

Last update for the night.

I started painting the DS it was painted Tamiya Medium Grey Spray and then I started on the light grey sections first, I have given this area two light coats of Vallejo Sky Grey. I put aside the DS to let the paint dry until tomorrow and then redo this area again which will have one more heavier coat.

The Star Destroyers have been painted using Tamiya Medium Grey Spray when I did the DS. I then painted them using Vallejo Medium Grey and then a drybrush of Vallejo Sky Grey, I then gave them a wash of watered down matt black.

Once the wash was done I drybrushed them Sky Grey and then Light Grey, I then lightly went around the raised areas with a very heavy watered down matt black and the gave it one last drybrush using a mix of 70/40 - Light Grey/White.

Ron"

This is gonna be so great when he gets it done!

Jon K is back with a KOTOR Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 7 2016
"Back to the KOTOR figure work, here's Jolee Bindo. Mostly a reworked Mace Windu figure with the skirt trimmed, and the torso fabric creases filled in with greenstuff, repainted with arms from a TVC Naboo Royal Guard and a Stass Allie saber. Not the most complex I've done, but he fits in well with the rest of my KOTOR customs!

And here's Canderous Ordo. He's got the Royal Naboo Guard legs and torso (ribs filled in with greenstuff), a TVC AT-AT driver head with the sideburns shaved off, Talon Karrde's arms, Han Solo's vest and an Evo Trooper's gun.

Thanks to everyone for all the comments on my previous figures, the feedback is really appreciated! I'm finally starting to get closer to rounding out the KOTOR set."

I always like it when they share the recipe. Good looking update Jon K!

JDeck starts a new model project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 7 2016
"I got a Revell AT-RT that I'll be giving the rebel alliance treatment to. This is a really cool kit, I've read many reviews and this kit is very much underrated. First off its 1/18 scale, which is awesome, it looks better aesthetically and more accurate, than any of the Hasbro versions. The articulation is nice, it even has little hydrologic pistons that move. This kit doesn't come with a stand like the other Revell kits, I'll have to make my own. It is a Revell kit so assembly is not real smooth, but its not rocket surgery.

For now I have Endor Leia as my rider. I need to give her swivel wrists to look right. I'll fix all that when I make a completely custom rider. For my application I'll change the gun a little, repaint, and add some rebel equipment. For the paint scheme, I was thinking of a Slave1 look. Light grey with worn down light green making a sort of camouflage."

Sounds like a great project to me!

JDeck is back with a custom figure!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 6 2016
"Hello folks been a while since I've done some figures, or anything for that matter. Been busy with work. I've had supply problems of every kind. I've had labor difficulties. You know. But I'm building some figures that are mostly a mashup of 5poa and SA sculpts, it cuts cost, and makes a unique figure. The POTJ, and the more recent saga legends figure head sculpts are actually pretty good. I'm doing a series called "Major Panno's Raiders", an all non human group of Rebel Alliance commandos, and saboteurs, who's key mission is to reap havoc on the Empire.

First is captain Salcom. The Quarren leader of the main squad. He a strict no nonsense leader who expects the very best from his men. Capt. Salcom knows as well as the rest of the group, " alien" species must work hard to accel in the human dominated alliance.

This one is a 15-15, $15, done in 15 minuets. it still retains the 14poa of the SA figure. Simple, but I like it. I may darken the skin later, meybe."

It is great to see JDeck back and I really like his Quarren!

Blizzard Force shares his Vintage German Kenner Cards...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 6 2016
"Didn't have time to post an update before because I was away for a congress...I have now finished the designs for all of the "first 12" and was able to produce 8 of those in the meantime. I deliberately went with the same images as the original Kenner cardbacks for these, even though I'd personally probably prefer a few different pics (Vader, Obi-Wan, mirrored Luke, to name some) I thought it important to make these as vintage-looking as I could achieve (they're still clearly identifiable as customs, after all). I therefore did a few variant versions (haven't uploaded those yet) as well, for example Vader with a red saber instead of a pink one and a different Obi-Wan. So, without further ado, here they are."

So awesome to see these cardbacks in German!

Ron Hembling starts a Death Star Light Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 6 2016
"Hi All,

I was at the shops the other day and spotted a DS wall light and knew that it would be a great fun little project. I removed the back and puttied the light holes as they were to big and once dry I sanded the exterior before I started on the second layer of putty.

I drilled new smaller light holes and once done I noticed that the surface was very plain so instead of putting up the old holes that need it I decided to add plastic styrene pieces to the surface to give it some texture.

I still need to add a lot more plastic styrene pieces and then re-spray the DS and then weather it and then start on the Star Destroyers.

Ron"

This is gonna be another great project!

Assisting in taking out two Death Stars and the Starkiller Base in Force Awakens, I can think of no other so accomplished. Paying tribute to the character meant constructing and executing a plan."

I like how he turned out. It is so cool to see super arty on this figure.

Jodo shows us his Tavern Diorama!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 4 2016
"Here's The Second Sun Tavern, a location I developed for my photonovel. It's an extremely simple concept which just needed to be interesting enough to keep reader's attention for a bit. I think some of these angles and shots are actually better than what made it into the chapter too."

Talk about a great set for his new chapter. Awesome stuff Jodo!

-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 2 2016
"Here's a Vintage Imperial Probot from the Empire Strikes Back Hoth Playset done on a vintage era cardback with a custom blister bubble packaging, don't know if this has been done before but I like the Probot as an action figure versus part of the playset and wondered how it would look carded, so here it is."

Folks, I think this is utterly outstanding! Talk about tugging at my vintage nostalgia heartstrings! I love it!

STAR WARS REBELS "CAPTAIN REX - STORMTROOPER DISGUISE
"

After observing Captain Rex dressed in Stormtrooper disguise in the episode "Stealth Strike" in Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, we knew we wanted to make the Stromtrooper version of Rex in action figure form. To accommodate Rex's bulky frame we used the body of the old POTF Stormtrooper with the head of the Star Wars Rebels Captain Rex action figure to create the silhouette we desired. To finish the figure off, we just hollowed out the head of a Star Wars Rebels Stormtrooper with a Dremel to make a removable helmet and placed the same figure's blaster into Rex's hand. The figure only has 5 points of articulation at the time of this post, but if we later come across an abundance of double-sided ball joints down the road, we may decide to articulate him some more."

He looks good to me!

Rezakia is back with new fan fiction!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 2 2016
"The collision with the Star Destroyer sent the Mon Calamari cruiser spinning in a flat slow turn. The brave Calamari crew was struggling to hold their ship together as their cruiser started its' descent deep into the planet's atmosphere. The cruiser's gigantic wound billowed black smoke from the top of it's hull showing a spiral of smoke as it fell. From the bridge alarms blared as the Calamari crew struggled to keep their vessel airborne. “Helm! Status!?” Captain Barrax barked through his aged and gravely Mon Calamari voice. A young female Calamari controller officer shouted up from her station “Attitude control is gone! The Planets gravity has us!” Captain Barrax turned in his white captain's chair his gray skin with white spots creased and wrinkled. Barrax shouted towards another officer “Engines?!” A beige uniformed Calamari officer looked up from his station and shouted his reply over the alarm klaxons “Main's are offline. Aft thrusters are operable!” Barrax turned back towards the main view-port watching the horizon of the plant slowly turn in front him. “Bow thrusters?” he asked. “Destroyed!” the same Calamari technician replied. Barrax Turned back to the female Calamari officer “Distance to impact?!”. The female calamari replied with a shuttering in her voice as she replied “Sixty thousand kilometers and closing fast!” Another male calamari officer in the station adjacent to her shouted towards Captain Barrax as well “ We're dropping like a rock!”. Barrax took a second to think before starting his reply in his gravely aged voice. “Helm get the inertia dampers ready!”

And that is just the first paragraph. As you can see you are in store for some great reading.

Gold Leader One creates a Han Evolution Pack...

"Just a little something I put together quickly. Nothing special. Showing Han's character development but using the 6" Black Series figures."

It gave me an idea that Hasbro needs to create 6" Evolution Packs (remember those?) and let Han be one of the first characters selected.

A Jedi Commando from Jedi Minstrel!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 1 2016
"Ka'an Chi'lee was a Knight of the Old Republic about 3574 years before the Battle of Yavin. He was frustrated by the many conflicts along the borders of Republic and Sith space. There seemed to also be small wars popping up in sectors of Republic space. All thru his years as a youngling, then Padawan did he and many of his generation know nothing but years of skirmishes that would unleash evil throughout the known galaxy. He and other Knights were given the mission of helping stabilize a sector of space that was partially annexed by the Sith Empire. They were not to engage the enemy. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Chi'lee and 4 others were the sole survivors of the Jedi commando unit. There were 24 of them."

Sounds like an epic battle. I like the look of his latest offerings a lot!

Jon K is back with a new Sith...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 1 2016
"And here's the Nihilus to go with my Visas Marr. I usually prefer a lot more articulation than this, but I liked Kylo's sculpt a lot for him, and if there was ever a character that could stand to be represented without much movement, it;s Nihilus.

Recipe: Kylo Ren's TFA body, Nihilus's Evolutions hood, a resin cast of Nihilus's head, and the cape from Asajj Ventress. Saber is Ren's with the crossguard cut off and the hilt repainted."

Wow, that Ren body is perfect for a Nihilus custom! I think it looks great.
