These are most likely the last "parking lot" figures Hasbro were sitting on before the 3.75" Black Series ended. if I recall correctly, there was nothing really all that great in the parking lot.

Also, this probably means that the Walmart exclusive line will focus on the new movies from here on out.

Volker, I added a bit more to your initial post with the full description.

I am hearing some of what Dan is posting and a few other things too. I also got an email from my EE Rep that says more will be shared sometime this afternoon so look for my posting later this evening or tonight for the full reveal.

I am thinking that this is also showing that other retailers are querying Hasbro to get Star Wars Action Figure Lines with more articulation. The retailers themselves could at least make sure we continue to get articulated figures.

I am sure they don't mind the 5 POA figures at their cheaper price point for kids, but it also shows that collectors, older fans, etc. have enough demand to merit another 3.75" line at an increased price point.

Like I said, more on this this evening.

Tamer, that's cool.
If you're friends with EE, what do you think about an Imperial Shipyards 3.75" SA figure line?
What would have to be done to get something like that take off?

"Mystery" 6pk revealed: various Astromechs.

I wouldn't really call these SA since Astromechs don't really have all that many POA to begin with...

I contacted Entertainment Earth today with the following email:

Hello!
I've got a question for you:
You advertised the EE exclusive 6 pack of Star Wars figures with the following words:
"stay tuned for our exciting new exclusive Star Wars Black Series action figure 6-pack! It contains 5 never-before-released figures all done with the super-articulation only available in Black Series figures."

This breathtaking set turned out to be Astromech droids.
Can you possibly imagine how disappointing this is to those who have a pretty good understanding of Star Wars action figures, the Black Series and know what super-articulation means among collectors and customizers?

Super-articulation means at least these points of articulation:
- ball jointed head
- ball hinged shoulders
- ball hinged elbows
- swivel wrists or hinged wrists
- swivel waist or ball hinged torso
- swivel hips or ball hinged hips
- ball jointed knees
- ball jointed ankles

This must be the biggest disappointment of the year so far.

As admin of a Star Wars action figure collector and customizer group on Facebook with a fan experience in Star Wars since 1978, I could tell you which figures would fly off the shelves or get into stockout quickly.
This is not going to be one of these.

Sorry to say that, but excitement turned into disappointment with the serious collectors and customizers upon seeing the first photos.

best regards,

Only two hours later, EE replied as follows:

I gotta go share this. Interesting answer. Just blame it on Hasbro.

I think Hasbro is very keen on all of us wanting more articulation in our figures. They are keeping us hooked with promises of more.

I am so glad that Commander_Kurgan got a reply fro EE . But sadly i do not think Hasbro is going to bat an eye lash at this . I too feel cheated out of this set due to the way it was advertised.  But at the same time feel happy i saved money since i already made those two ot astromech droids.. I feel this set was rushed to keep us collectors of the 3.75 line quiet, the paint apps are not correct  . Its a bitter sweet situation and yet if we do not support this set imo thats just going to ruin the future of 3.75 sa figures .

I still have my pre-order in. I am a sucker for Astros. I may cancel it though. Still thinking on it.

I would love to do that. Trust me, getting your own exclusive SW Line is not an easy thing to do. Hasbro would not even entertain an idea like this unless you would agree to buy a certain amount of figures like this (in the hundred of thousands of dollars from what I understand).
