"Sidenote, she loves him."

Referring to the awesome BB-8 he customized up for his wife. Now that is some gift! Very cool, Dag Marus!

Darth Daddy is back with an update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 31 2016
"This is a 100% sculpted action figure made with ProCreate used on a Clone Wars Savage Opress action figure. The thighs of the figure were shortened to reduce the height of the figure and the hands were switched out with the hands from a realistic version of Count Dooku that came with Force Flipping Attack. The tabards on the figure were manufactured from the skirt that was already present on the Savage figure. From there it was all handcrafted."

He has a great backstory on this character too.

The Boo is back with a large update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 31 2016
And I mean that literally,

"Hey all! Well I finished another one. Stripped down a Black Series Special Forces TIE (The big Boy!), primed, metalized, painted the whole shebang. Then ran over 100 lights, including an adjustable blinking set. Then detail painted it. I'll make another pass at it in a few days after I've had some time away from it. Really happy with the way it came out, but I have no where to put it!"

The light and paint work are just a wonder to behold. What a great day to feature the Boo too no?

JDeck gives Veers an upgrade...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 31 2016
"General Veers is one of my favorite Imperials, and I wasn't satisfied with the saga figure. I used the TVC AT-AT Commander figure as a base, if I were to do it again I would use the Needa figure, but I like the lighter uniform personally, it matches the rest of the armored uniforms. I used the Chancellor vallorum head, as it's a better likeness of Veers. I made a custom rank plaque out of miliput, that was a real pain. I've tried making plaques using decals, styrene, nothing seemed to work, but this is good enough. After that I just gave his goggles a smoke clear coat, and thats it really."

I like the look of this new Veers! Make sure you scroll around too as there is a neat TIE Crewman update too!

JDeck is back with more Bandai News...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 31 2016
"Here's some info on the 1/144ish Y-wing.

It looks great. The Y-wing is my favorite fighter, it just looks tough. The details are awesome, very similar to the 1/72 counterpart. Release date was today I think.

The first picture shows the 1/72 Y-wing & X-Wing. The second shows the 1/144. If you compare the two you'll see that they are indeed in scale with one another."

Looks like good detail in both scales.

This is already starting to take on awesome shape!

He shows you how the smallest detail pushes up the realism of a diorama!

Ron Hembling finishes his Galen Marek Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, October 27 2016
"Hi All,

The figure and base are complete. I made the base using Bandai stands and adding plastic tile strips around the edges, I added plastic sheet for the floor and a piece of plastic tile.

The pole in the corner was made using a lid and a 1/35 tank wheel and the pole is some plastic tube. The troopers are from Hasbro and the E-11 is from Bandai and I glued the joints and puttied up the joints and the saber cuts were done by using a soldering iron.

Ron"

He has already given us his final outdoor pics too. Talk about one satisfied customer I bet!

Dag Marus starts a new diorama...

"A little WIP I'm starting because they just took down a tree in my backyard and I have SO many sticks to use for trees."

Now thats what I call recycling to great effect!

Jeffrey8322 shows us his Sith Temple!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, October 27 2016
"Being a Sith Collecter and custom maker I felt the need to give them a home. 90% completed here is what I came up with
solid wood. No styrofoam

Used water based oils to give it a dark green black marble look."

Now that is what I call fantastic!

JDeck builds and reviews the Bandai Phasma Kit...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, October 26 2016
"I built this 1/12 Bandai Captain Phasma. Its a cool kit, same as most of the other figures exept its vac-plated chrome. The kit comes with 2 capes, a hard plastic articulated cape and a soft goods one. I despise the articulated cape, and the soft goods looked like a black dryer sheet. So I ordered a loose TBS phasma cape, however it has one drawback, you can't position her crouching or anything, but I can live with it. She doesn't do anything in the movie anyway. I also painted the Blaster "Jet Exhaust " to be more screen accurate and to give it contrast, so its not chrome on chrome. Actually I need to detail it with some black. I might weather it SLIGHTLY. meybe even build a dio or something, i dunno we'll see what inspiration comes."

Boy the vac metal paint job on this looks fantastic. I am left wondering if we will ever see a metal sheen on our Hasbro figures like this!

Foxtrot Delta gives us Rebel Gliders!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, October 26 2016
"Rebel Recon Gliders: Quick, fast, light and silent. They fly into Imperial held positions, collect enemy dispositions (size, activity, locations) then exfiltrate undetected. Rebel Commanders use that information to formulate successful attack plans."

Such a cool idea, I can definitely see how he put this together. They so remind me of a G.I. JOE item I had as a kid.

Guns Empty shows us his second Rebel Rook...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, October 26 2016
"Chess board Rebel rook. Jedi Knight."

I hope you can see the expression on this Knight's face. So serious like he is ready to do battle. I so like this project. Make sure you scroll down once there as he has added some more great images of pieces of this together. I can't wait to see the final pics of the entire board assembled!

Commander Kurgan calls it almost done!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, October 26 2016
"Let's call this the almost finished Blaster. I might add a Russian-style sling to it.

The stock is fully telescopic so it can be shortened if a compact weapon is needed and extracted for precise shooting."

This looks so perfect for any Rebel Faction in our SW Verse!

Mandalore 25 shows back up with some 6" work...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 25 2016
"

Next up I have some 6in work
I did for a customer. First I made a Return of the Jedi Boba Fett with removable helmet. I cut the neck from Jango, and put it on Boba so the head, and Jango helmet fit right. Then repainted the Jango helm, and Boba body to match his appearance in RotJ.

Attached a few pics.

Second I sculpted on the scar, and painted a Jango head cast for Commander Cody. I see why many customizers prefer to work in 6in, the details are way easier to paint on like the eyes, can use a brush, and not like needle points on 3.75in."

Both seem pretty awesome to me. I really like the no brainer with creating the removable helmet Boba Fett. I so hope Hasbro releases something like this in the near future.

Panther completes his TFA Dio...

I hope you enjoy them."

I know I sure did!

Jaeger 45 shares two new customs and a bonus...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 25 2016
"Two more figures, and a little bonus accessory:

The Weequay Marksman was pretty hardcore--after Luke threw him out a window towards the Sarlacc, he somehow made it back onto the Khetanna, and back to the top deck, only to meet his demise there. The guy deserves some props for perseverance, if nothing else. My version (inspired by LukeSprywalker's marvelous figure) is based largely on the VC Quinlan Vos body. Arms are from Bom Vimdim, head and hands are Weequay (Skiff Master), vest is Indiana Jones Sallah, and softgoods are custom.

Barada was itching to be done! Chest and arms are VC Rebel Commando, legs are Bom Vimdim, and head, bandolier, skirt, and boots are Kithaba. Belt pouch was cast from Weequay (Skiff Master), and backpack was cast from the POTF2 Barada and strapped on with Cricut vinyl. Neck peg was swapped, and collar and neckline were sculpted in Fixit Sculpt. In retrospect, attaching Kithaba's boots to Bom's lower legs was a bit tricky--not much room to peg them together without affecting articulation.

As an added bonus, I painted up a MicroMachines rancor, and mounted it on a pedestal that came with the urn accessory used with the rotisserie. This was supposed to be the rancor statue barely visible in Jabba's chamber on the Khetanna. I've since learned of a behind-the-scenes Polaroid showing this was actually a wall-mounted gargoyle. For now, though, I like it as is."

They sure do look great to me!

JDeck says they are a little too good!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 25 2016
"Now, I have a whole squad of custom stormtroopers, that's 12 troops plus a commander. The only problem with the new Stormtrooper helmets is they are too nice. They make the body look dull or yellow. The SL11 blended better with the SA figure. I adjusted the helmets to try and make some look tall or short. I like em they have that imperfect ANH look.

I made a custom helmet for the commander, I tried to mask it, but it was so smooth it wouldn't stick, so painting wasn't any easier. However it made cleaning up excess paint easy. I think the new head on the commander looks much much better."

Here is to hoping they put a super articulated body that matches up with that great Rogue One Stormtrooper Bucket.

Commander Kurgan is back with more 1 to 1 Scale custom work...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 25 2016
"From what we can see on the various screenshots taken from the trailers, the Rebel DH17 Blasters seem to be in a carbine-type configuration in Rogue One which makes them look a little bulkier.

Since I had the Hasbro Nerf Blaster, I decided to give it an AR-type stock."

You can see the full description at the aforementioned link. It was sure a great way to add a stock with a great military style look.

More Bandai News from JDeck!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 24 2016
"Here's a few promo images http://bandai-hobby.net/sw/jp/special/rogue1.html. The Rogue one 1/72 TIE striker releasing January 2017 for 28 USD. Also the 1/144 TIE striker and U-wing. They seem to also come with two hovertanks. Too bad theyre so tiny, but its cool they're included. They'll be released February 2017.

More info on the Death Star however I cant read Japanese, so doesnt do a lot of good. I don't know if it's the concept series, or a full size model. I really hope it's full sized, bigger than a fist, and not the palm sized concept series.

And the Scarif trooper is 2,916 JPY which comes out to 28 USD. A little steep, but you get 3 building options. Release date December along with K-2SO 2,592. JPY, Millennium Falcon and 1/6 Stormtrooper."

I always enjoy seeing new Bandai Updates. That licensee is really doing the Star Wars Brand proud!

Panther is almost done with his TFA Dio!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 24 2016
"Final touches have been made, I used a wash containing a mixture of Yellow Ochre and burnt Umber over the branches, then another wash of burnt umber over the tree. Using a green wash, I went over the ground filling in the white gaps on the base, this also gave the foliage a lovely lighter second tone. I also went around the front of the base with a black acrylic.

Just need to wait until the morning and see how it has dried!"

I would say it dried pretty well!

Dag Marus adds to his BB-8...

Clone Troopr is back with a Clone Assassin...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 24 2016
"Here's a custom I'd had on the shelf for awhile, but didn't get around to showing. He's based off of his appearance in the Revenge of the Sith videogame. The blades I made are sheet metal; probably wasn't the greatest idea because I need to be really careful with it incase I take out my own eye with the toy."

He sure does look tough though!

Ron Hembling updates us on his Galen Marek...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 24 2016
"Hi All,

Marek is 90% complete I just need to add a little bit more weathering to the outfit. I had a look at a lot of pics of Marek and his face seemed to be pale so I went with that and I'm very happy with the way it looks but I sent these pic to the client to see if he likes the look of the skin.

Ron"

I think he is rocking this one!

Stronox is back with a new Sith Update!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 22 2016
"Hi guys! It has been a while since I posted figures up for auction so I thought I would share my latest...

The first is Darth Bane, in full orbalisk armor. I have made this before and he is one of my most requested pieces. The design is actually based off of a cosplayer I had seen years ago. With this version I made him out of a GI Joe figure and have retained all the articulation despite being mostly sculpted.

Next up is a character I have actually never done before...Darth Zannah! I made her from various GI Joe parts as well and have also modified her height to be in scale with other SW characters as sometimes GI Joe is way too tall. Thanks for taking a look and comments and critiques always welcomed!"

Well I think they look fantastic. Folks you have to click the aforementioned link and see these images full size to appreciate the detail and the level of artwork these custom action figures represent. It is no wonder I consider Stronox one of the best customizers I have ever featured!

One additional note, if you like these figures as much I as I he has em on the bay and here are your links for:

Darth Bane

Darth Zannah

I could easily see any one of these customs being centerpieces for any type of Star Wars Collection. Lets face it folks these are articulated works of art!

Also this month is 1/144 or so Y-wing.

Btw the 1/6 Stormtrooper will cost 7,000 JPY, or a little less than 70 bucks."

I always appreciate JDeck keeping me aware of the Bandai Stuff!

Ron Hembling starts a Galen Marek...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 22 2016
"Hi All,

I client asked me if I could make him a Galen Marek figure a while back but I haven't been able to find a head that looked ok until I went thru an old bits box I had in the garage. The head is from and old Call of duty 6" figure that came out a few years ago.

The figure is 90% complete and just needs painting and then the base to be done. The figure is fully articulated and I used pieces of cloth to wrap around the boots, hands and arms. The belts are pieces of pleather and the back and front karmas? are pieces of leather, I used greenstuff to make tears in the shirt.

The shoulder piece is from Hasbro's BS Vader as was cut to size so it would fit the shoulder correctly. The base so far is made using Bandai bases and the troopers will be cut to fit the base and they are from Hasbro BS 6".

Ron"

Wow, what a great figure. I am sure his client is gonna be super happy with this one!

Jaeger 45 is back with new work...

These guys have to be two of the smartest guys on the sail barge. They take one look at Luke massacring the rest of the crew, and say screw this, we're outta here! Both figures rely on ground broken by Jabbaspalacespy."

I so agree! Make sure you click through to see the full recipes for these two.

"The NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcer, colloquially known as the Corporate Alliance tank droid, CAD and the snail tank, was a tank droid constructed by the Corporate Alliance at first to silence its opposers and later to combat the Grand Army of the Republic.

"These are automated agents of evil!"
- Plo Koon rallying clone troopers on Geonosis

Source: Wookiepedia.com
Follow the link below to find out more about this vehicle:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/NR-N99_Persuader-class_droid_enforcer/Legends

Hasbro released the Corporate Alliance Tank in their Clone Wars Line in 2009. I had been hoping for a debut of this vehicle since I watched Episode III for the first time.
This version of the NR-N99 appeared in the Clone Wars Series in this color scheme, but I expected Hasbro to release a repaint of this tank in the following years.
I wondered why Hasbro didn't release this vehicle in their ROTS line right away...it would've been amazing along with the Wookie Flyer. However we never saw the Persuader as it appears on screen in Revenge of the Sith.
A simple repaint has always been a good way to pay off new molds and production costs (best example are Jedi Starfighters). Instead of re-releasing this awesome mold Hasbro even down-scaled the Class II vehicle line, which are more in scale 1/24 than in 1/18.

Since this let my hopes of a re-release/repaint fade away I decided to repaint the TCW version myself. I don't know if anybody did this before and I didn't find many pictures of a similar project online.
This plan has been in my mind since 2009 and this year I finally realized it:"

I love what he is doing with this!

JDeck finishes his C3PO Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, October 21 2016
"Im calling the C-3PO part of the project finished. It looks better in person. It's difficult to photograph something like this. looks totally different in some lights than in others. But I like it. I found out I won't have my R2-D2 kit until late next week. Bummo. But I have a few things to do in the meantime. I'm using r5 as a stand in for now."

I think it looks pretty good.

Commander Kurgan can't find Jyn so he makes his own!

"Untill I can obtain the upcoming Jyn Erso from the Black Series, this custom Jyn will act as a stand-in. She is a fully playable kitbash made from a combination of parts from the parts bin."

She looks pretty good to me already and has a ton more movement than the Rogue One version already on the pegs. I sure can't seem to find the new Wal-Mart Black Series either!

3) Rey (Finn's Jacket) - seen briefly in the Force Awakens - gave the figure Finn's arms (shortened) with Rey's hands along with Finn's jacket, thinned the hair on the sides"

They look great and are just full of articulation!

"Here a few more pictures.

What I should of done beforehand was to paint the ground first before sticking all the foliage down. All I can see now are dots of white amongst all that green. Oh well, live and learn or I might get a tin of spray paint and lightly go over key areas.

It was at that point I had to walk away and let it dry!

It is looking really good to me!

"While I prepare to start my next diorama , I have been keeping foxtrot delta busy as of late and want to say thanks again for him bringing me closer to my goal . So this update has something from episodes 4,5, and 6 on a side note there's a character in this update that was filmed in the throne room scene but was cut or you cant see him . The character is commander Pashna Starkiller according to the research i did. If you look at him closely its the same character that was in the cantina scene he played Yerka Mig . also interesting that they seem to keep using the Starkiller name."

It is always great to see new work from Mr. Jedi 1977!

JDeck starts a C3PO Project...

"Ive had this C3PO kit in my closet for a year, trying to figure how I want to build it. This is my favorite Star Wars kit period. Just choosing which 3po to make is the hard part. I chose 3po from when he and r2 were wandering around on Tatooine. That scene always interested me. Its like a cross between Lawrence of Arabia and hidden fortress. Anyway, ill get another R2D2/BB8 kit and make a little diorama display."

They sure did get the paint job on this right thats for sure! Still shaking my head on the Hasbro Version.

Guns Empty shows us his Chessboard Knight...

"Chess board knight: Jedi master, survivor of Executive Order 66.

This is the Rahm Kota figure, but I don't know if he's canon anymore. I've seen talk that Kanan from Star Wars Rebels is modeled off of Rahm Kota, but I don't know. So, he's either Rahm, or and elderly Kanan with some bionic eyes since at thie point in the show he appears to be blind (I haven't watched the show fully). Or that'll be my story I give him."

Boy, its hard to know with all the canon or legendary stuff going on ain't it! I sure do like the character choice though and he looks tough!

Ron Hembling starts a new Rogue One Dio...

"Hi All,

New project this time about I'm doing three small separate dio's that can be put together to make larger one. I have glued all Captain Andor's joints and filled the joints in with putty, K-S20 has just had his joints glued except for the chest and head. I still to get my hands on Jyn and I can do the same to her as I have done to Andor.

The bases are pieces of balsa wood cut to size and the back ground buildings are done from foam board and I just need to add a few greeblies and the paint everything.

Ron"

Panther gets back to his dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 17 2016
"Good morning Shipyarder's

This weekend, the tree had finally dried so I was able to glue it to base, then taking strips of plaster of paris I blended the tree into the base which covered the prominent gap between the two. While my glue gun was still hot, I stuck on the rectangle figure stand onto the base and later I will be sticking another one nearer the tree. I have done because I will be covering the floor with the same green foliage that I used in my last dio and then trying to stand a figure and keep them standing on that will be a trying task.

After leaving the tree to dry over a radiator for two hours, it was dry enough for me to apply the first coat of paint, using a brown acrylic paint for the base coat before I start to wash it over to make it lighter before adding a few branches on the top. I used the same brown for the inside of of the log, when this is dry I will do a darker brown wash.

I have added a of picture of how it might look when I have completed it, using the bushes for the background but removing the kitchen roll ;).

Richard"

It is looking great to me!

JDeck shares Bandai Rogue One Info...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 17 2016
"I found some promo images and some info on the new upcoming Bandai Rogue one kits. 1/12 scarif trooper, 1/12 K-2SO. The Scarif trooper has 3 variations, captain, Squadleader and trooper. K-2SO is the one im looking forward to the most. Also Bandai is making a 1/6 Stormtrooper. It's interesting bandai is getting into another scale.

For vehicles there is a 1/72 TIE striker, and 1/144 U-WING TIE striker combo. On the bottom right corner of the bottom picture, there is an image of the Death Star. Finally we might get a good death star model.

-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 15 2016
"Morning all!

Last night I was able to get back to work on my tree. I purchased some plaster of paris strips and applied them to tree, spending time adding the enough layers and blending it altogether and making sure that I did not leave any perorations visible. Now I just need it to dry before I can apply it to the base.

Wanting to go for the woodland feel, I want to add a little foliage for the background, a bush or three behind"

Ron Hembling shares a Deathtrooper dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 15 2016
"Hi All,

Latest custom/ dio is another Hasbro Death Trooper on Scarif, I decided to keep this just a basic Death Trooper and the only thing I did was give it two new hands and pistol from Bandai and drilled out the muzzle.

The joints were glued and covered and I used Tamiya's Metallic Black for the armour and used Vallejo, GW paints and pastel chalks to paint and weather him.

The base is Balsa wood cut to size and then I used a 50-Sand/40-Spakfilla/10-Iraqui mix for the sand and once dry a dry brushed it Pale Sand. The larfe foilage is from Woodland Scenics and the medium plants are from JoeFix Studios and the small tufts of grass are from Amry Painter.

Ron"

Jaeger 45 is back with new work...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 15 2016
"Wow, time flies!

I've been on a bit of an RotJ kick lately, and, hopefully over the next few weeks I'll have a bit more to update. I managed to get ahold of one of the Figureworks Jabba's Rotisseries, and, though it pained me to drill into it, I couldn't help lighting it up. I drilled two small holes, vivisected a couple of Halloween tea lights, and added harvested Schleich flames and model railroad ballast for charcoal. I also painted up a few accessories.

I'm pretty happy with how Fozec turned out, particularly the helmet. Head is Willrow Hood (did anyone ever ID the actor?), torso is Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., and pants are Indiana Jones, with sculpted details. Strappage is Cricut Vinyl (really useful!).

Nothing special about the Jawa, other than his scratch built accessory; he just fills out the scene."

It was great to see him back!

Guns Empty shows us his Rebel King and Queen for his Star Wars Chess Set...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, October 14 2016
"Here are the King and Queen: Senators Mon Mothma and Bail Organa.

Mon Mothma was a human female politician and revolutionary leader who served in the Galactic Senate and Imperial Senate as the representative of Chandrila, the leader of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and the first chancellor of the New Republic. She came to political prominence during the Separatist Crisis and the Clone Wars as a member of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's Loyalist Committee. Along with such allies as Bail Organa of Alderaan and Padmé Amidala of Naboo, Mothma became an outspoken proponent of pursuing peace between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. She also spoke out against the increase in executive wartime power given to Chancellor Palpatine. At the end of the war, as Palpatine continued to amass power and ultimately transformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Mothma worked with Senator Organa to begin planting the seeds of rebellion against the Imperial regime. Though she remained in the Imperial Senate as a proponent of democracy, these seeds ultimately led to the formation of the Rebel Alliance to militarily combat the might of the Empire.

Bail Prestor Organa (formally styled as His Serene Highness, Prince Bail Organa, First Chairman and Viceroy of Alderaan) was a Human male who served as the First Chairman and Viceroy of Alderaan, and served in the Galactic Senate as the Senator of the Alderaan sector from 32 BBY to 19 BBY. Subsequently, he was Senator of the Alderaan sector of the Imperial Senate from 19 BBY to 1 BBY. He was Princess Leia Organa's adoptive father and a friend of Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Rahm Kota. He was married to Queen Breha Organa of Alderaan and was, as Prince Consort, head of the royal house and ruler of Alderaan. One of the main founders of the Rebel Alliance, he was killed when the Death Star obliterated Alderaan. In the Alliance and its successor states, the New Republic and Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, he was respected as a martyr who died for his cause."

I got the King right! He is maybe done now? I am not sure, but he is in the home stretches if he is not.

Ron Hembling starts a Rogue One Project!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, October 13 2016
"Hi All,

I got two Hasbro 6" Death Troopers and decided to do a the scene attached. I am 90% complete and just need to add weathering and also complete the base.

The base so far is a piece of balsa wood and I used spakfilla to cover it and once dry I used PVA glue and covered it using fine sand.

The figure so far as had the joints glued and then puttied and the small pouches across the stomach are some WW2 1/35 pieces. The grenades at the front are WW2 1/35 gas mask with greeblies attached to the top.

The pauldron is from Hasbro and the pouch on the left shoulder is from Bandai. I swapped out the weapons and gave them Bandai weapons and the rifle was shortened and then pieces from other Bandai weapons were glued on.

The small stormtrooper doll was made use high density foam and tooth picks. I'll have this completed tomorrow and time permitting I'll get my usual outdoor pics.

Ron"

I don't even know he made half of this stuff. I mean that Stormtrooper Doll? I couldn't even see it at that scale, let alone get the detail he does!

Rebel bishop 2: Admiral Gial Ackbar

Gial Ackbar was a veteran male Mon Calamari soldier and revolutionary leader during the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. Throughout his sixty years of service, Ackbar was regarded as a brilliant tactician.

Ackbar was captain of the Mon Calamari Guard during the Clone Wars and fought in the Battle of Mon Cala, in which he helped to secure Prince Lee-Char's ascent as King of Mon Cala and repel the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After the rise of the Galactic Empire, Ackbar became the foremost military commander in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, emerging as a symbol of defiance against the Empire's subjugation of non-humans. His presence attracted Mon Calamari support for the Alliance, thus supplying the Mon Calamari star cruisers that made up a bulk of the Alliance Fleet."

If you haven't seen it yet, Guns Empty is creating a Star Wars Chess Set taking 3.75" action figures, customizing them up, and then placing them on mini-dioramas that then fit on a customized wooden chess board. The project is sheer amazing and it looks to me like he is almost finished!

Some the same, some not so much...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, October 12 2016
In referring to our friends Jedi Temple Archives.com's Q and A with Hasbro. It is interesting to see we did get some similar answers to similar questions, but then some were totally different. It does leave one scratching their head a bit!

One item of note is that we here at ISY appreciate JTA continuing to demand the return of the super articulated 3.75" Line just like us. Maybe if all the fan sites keep after Hasbro we can see it return as a main line feature instead of the focus on 5 POA we are currently dealing with!

HALCION WERKZ shows us his U-Wing work!

BDC41866 is back with more to come!

I always like reading that last part.

Commander Kurgan is going to Rogue One in style!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 11 2016
"Here's a concept setup for my Rogue One era Rebel Commando. The cap is still a work in process as well as the Blaster which will receive a telescopic stock and a sling. Other than that, this is how I plan to go to the movie premiere in December."

Now that is one fantastic idea and it already looks great!

Panther is back with a new TFA Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 11 2016
"I've started a new diorama I will be sticking with The Force Awakens. I want to recreate the scene where Rey crosses path with Kylo Ren for the first time.

Using a technique recently introduced to me by a fellow creator at Hemblecreations (thanks Ron!), I have used tin foil which has been rolled up into a ball and then spread over the tube to create the base of the tree. I am contemplating using plaster of paris strips over the tree trunk.

I am also reusing a trunk a made for my Jedi Ghost dio as a hollowed out trunk."

Pretty cool start. I like it when folks pick up techniques from other customizers here too.

Ron Hembling shares the latest on his Endor Patrol Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 11 2016
"Hi All,

The trees are now done, I gave them as wash with beige brown and then a wash with khaki.

The leaves are from woodland scenic and I gave them a wash of U.S. Dark green and then once dry attached them to the trunks using superglue.

The AT-ST was brushed with two light coats of medium grey and once fully dry it will be given a few different depths of black wash.

Ron"

Is this turning out great or what!

Blizzard Force shows us how cool Rogue One could really be!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 10 2016
"I've started recarding the first batch of Rogue One figures. I have six cards finished so far for the first wave of single and 2-Pack-figures....here are numbers #01 to #03:

#01 - Sergeant Jyn Erso (Eadu)

Jyn hasn't been modified, but I did give here an E-11 to match the pic. Also the respiratory unit bugged me, because it's cast in a single piece of transparent plastic, complete with hose, head straps and bottle...so I wanted to correct that. Things kind of escalated after I started painting pieces of it, so the end result was a full repaint... ;)

#02 - K-2SO (Kay-Tuesso)

I was pretty happy with the big guy (and fortunately he fit into the blister, too ;) ), only did minimal touch-ups on the eyes.

#03 - Imperial Stormtrooper

I adore the new helmet sculpt, I think it's the best Hasbro's done so far. Now if only the joints were more articulated... ;) I did repaint some areas of him, the belly buttons have been painted as well as some parts of the helmet and the E-11 (for a more metallic appearance)."

I am also including the pics of K-2SO and the Stormtrooper

Commander Kurgan gives us a new custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 10 2016
"Here's today's creation: another Rebel trooper.

A while ago I was fortunate enough to pick up a couple of Cracken figures and this time I mated his torso with Bespin Han's lower body and legs. The head, again, is from the GI Joe range. The helmet is from a POTF Obi Wan figure and fits better than the picture shows.

Brandon Flores sends in new images of his U-Wing
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, October 9 2016
Wow is this just a great scratch build or what! It is slightly smaller in scale than what we are used to with the one we have out now by Hasbro, but that just shows you how big the regular U-Wing ought to be.

I wonder if Brandon will tackle one that large?

Ron Hembling updates us on his Endor AT-ST Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, October 9 2016
"Hi All,

Another little update, I have been busy with commissions so my dio is on and off at the moment.

I restarted on the trees and gave them a dry brush of dark brown then gave them a dry brush medium grey. Once the medium grey was dry I then gave the trees a was of a 50/50 mix of dark brown and medium grey.

When the was dry I then gave them two dry brush coats of light grey. I still need tone down the grey and give the trees a wash of khaki and beige and then I can add the branches.

Ron"

The realism of those trees is just astounding to me!

Brandon Flores starts a U-Wing...

As you can see we are finalizing HALCION WERKZ Day here at ISY with the pics of his latest scratchbuild: the U-Wing.

It is 6" in scale and already has a level of detail you won't find in anything we have seen offered at regular retail. I would like to be hopeful we will see something like this we could buy someday, but I highly doubt it. Till then, we will just have to live vicariously through the wonderful creations of Brandon Flores.

JDeck gets the Emperor some new clothes...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 8 2016
"I was able to get a couple Royal Guards, they are pretty cool. Id say 9.5/10, only because of a few minor problems. The helmet is dull and orange peeled. Also the pike itself is made of very soft plastic. When I took it out of the package it was warped into an S shape. On a positive note the sculpt is great the accessories are awesome. I just realized the right finger is flexible allowing it to hold the pike in its iconic position.

To tackle the helmet problem I just gave it a couple coats of Tamiya Clear Red. I think it looks better. I happened to have a couple of POTF2 pikes, I like them better because they are made of a harder, more durable plastic, so theyre straight.

I realized Hasbro hasnt made an ROTJ Emperor I'm happy with, so I kitbashed one. Im not sure why Hasbro hasnt done this already, but i took a TAC emperor and added the TVC TPM sidious robe and hood. Thats it. looks great. Ive got a few more alterations and accessories to make this an ultimate ROTJ Emperor."

His improvements sure do work for me. Man, I have got to find some of those new Black Series Walmart Royal Guards!

Dag Marus improves BB-8 even more!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 8 2016
"I am loving this little project. I added a few greeblies to inside of the torch port to make it looks a little more realistic and not just flat white or black plastic. I had a few fuses and extra guns laying around, so in they went! It's not screen accurate or anything, as it's a MUCH smaller scale and I'm using stuff I have lying around the workshop, but it'll do."

Well it sure works for me! It is great to see how much fun he is having with this too.

Ron Hembling is back to work on his Endor Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 8 2016
"Hi All,

Last update for the night.

I covered the foil using spakfilla, PVA and some drops of Vallejo Beige Brown and German Grey. Once dry I then gave them 5 washes of Vallejo's German Cam Black Brown, I started of with a light wash then went up to a heavy wash for the last wash.

I have also started on the Stormtroopers, I used Vallejo white and then gave a wash of matt black and then dry brushed them with white. Once dry I painted the black areas and the vents and mouth section and I just need to add a little more detail and give them a weather.

Ron"

Those trees look real! Of course, the realism Ron is able to get out of all his dios is amazing.

Ron Hembling works on his Endor Patrol Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, October 6 2016
"Hi All,

I have added the aluminium foil to the tree and what I did first was roll up what I needed then pressed it all together and then un-rolled it and rolled it around the tree.

Once it is around the tree I then started to lightly crunch it all together and kept doing it until it was all foil was crimped together.

Ron"

This is definitely gonna rock when finished!

Dag Marus fixes up a BB-8...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, October 6 2016
"My wife is a huge BB-8 fan and our 4th anniversary is coming up. So I got her the BB-8 BigFig...but the problem is...it is WAY too clean. There are so many little details in this sculpt and it looks incredible, but you can't see them. They don't pop at all.

Well, one hour with some brown paints and a crapload of paper towels and it's looking a TON better. I'm not done, as I'm still going to lighten some areas up where I feel the "dirt" is a little TOO heavy, but it looks infinitely better!"

I definitely agree. Make sure you see all of his pics!

Ron Hembling finishes up some Stormtroopers...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, October 6 2016
"Hi All,

I did these two figures a little while back and finally got them on their bases.

They are both Bandai kits built straight out of the box and have stockings cut out to cover the joints.

The Sandtrooper base is balsa wood with a mix of spakfilla, PVA glue and sand mixed and added to the base and then it was painted using Vallejo's Iraqui Sand.

The Stormtrooper base is balsa wood with spakfilla used to cover the base then potty mix was used to cover the base. I then used model railway static grass and then gave it a few washes of Vallejo's Medium Green, I used plastic plants form JOEFIX STUDIOS and the ferns are 1:1 scale plastic ferns which I cut the tips off and gave them and the other plastic plants a a few washes of Vallejo's Dark Green.

The figures and equipment were painted and weathered using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

Ron"

Yepper, Ron knows what he is doing thats for sure!

Did a tiny bit of work yesterday and added the base for the trees. I used foam board and glued pieces together and once try I trimmed the edges until I was happy with the way they looked.

I will start covering them with some aluminium foil to get the texture I want and then I will cover that with spakfilla.

Ron"

You can already see this one is gonna be fantastic. I am still left reeling after this last 6" shuttle dropship diorama. And man he won the first three places in his modeling competition. Ron is one fire this month!

Guns Empty gets back to his Chessboard Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 4 2016
"Here's the Rebel Fleet Trooper. It's the other chess rook!!

For the High Command Security Trooper, the idea was the base was stone from one of the Rebel hidden bases, pulling security for Rebel High Command.

For this guy, I wanted to pull from the movies, so I designed the base to be as though he's on a rebel cruiser, stepping out from a side room with dirty unpolished flooring onto the polished white panels."

Can't you just imagine moving these on a real chess board! Such a cool project. I could see this being the centerpiece of an awesome Star Wars Room.

JDeck finishes up his Shuttle Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, October 4 2016
"I pretty much finished Vader's Shuttle. I was able to mount it all pretty easily using plastic and metal tubes.

For the shuttle tube I used .25" outside diameter brass tube. Then I used .256" inside diameter plastic tube to connect the brass tube to both the shuttle and wood base. I used the same concept mounting the TIE fighters using .16" OD brass and .16" ID plastic tubes. Its all detachable and the mounting holes are unnoticeable. I still need to mount one of the TIE fighters better. If your interested i can give a demonstration, it would work better to use square tube but im lazy."

I like the look of this!

Panther does some major work on his latest dio project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 3 2016
"Major update!

I've been busy this weekend, yesterday I applied the second of spray paint. This time I was more careful, cleared space in the garage and sprayed in there lol.

Today, I created a wash consisting of a combination of white, black and a little burnt umber acrylic and used this to lighten the doorway and then a gentle wash over all of the wall and rubble. Then using a dry brush, I scorched the wall using black acrylic and dry brushed everything, the wall, steps, the broken wall parts. If I used too much black I soften it using the first acrylic wash.

While I was waiting for that to dry, I used some model shrubbery to create a grass area at the front and then a mixture of PVA, ballast and a grey acrylic mixture to cover the area at the bottom of the steps and some on them, this giving the impression of broken stone from the wall.

This hopefully completes Phase 3 of this project, there now needs a couple of additions and one being customised before I complete this.

I hope you like the pictures so far and excuse the amount of them.

Richard"

Wow, this is really looking fantastic!

Jake James shows you how to remove that pesky nerf stuff...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, October 3 2016
One of the biggest things before I bought my new TIE Striker was whether or not I could remove the unrealistic looking nerf launcher. As you can see by the image above, problem solves. Thanks to my local buddy Jake James for letting me use his image.

We interrupt Rogue One weekend with a new dio from Ron Hembling!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, October 2 2016
"Hi All,

Started a new dio and this one will be a AT-ST on patrol on Endor. The AT-ST is from Bandai and built straight out of the box and the stormtroopers are from SW Imperial Assault and have been heavily modified.

The scale of the troopers is 28mm which I think is 1/64 scale so to me it is a very minor size difference and I need troopers for my 1:48 scale dios.

Ron"

It already looks great to me. I can't wait to see Ron get started on some Rogue One stuff too. The OT will always be my main love though, just like Ron!

So watcha finding?
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, October 2 2016
I was able to add two things off my bucket list yesterday in the form of the new Black Series Rogue One Stormtrooper Helmet and the new TIE Striker. Daggone the detail on these looks great.

So what are you finding? Let us know! You can post it directly to our Facebook Page or plop it in our New Purchases Thread in the forums. I do enjoy seeing what folks pick up! So far I think Gold Leader One (pic below) has us all beat, but it sure is fun to head out to the stores again to look eh?

And JDeck begins the head swapping!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, October 2 2016
"The r1 stormy head is even better than the SL11, which to me was the best stormtrooper head sculpt Hasbro ever made. This one is glossy, and the paint apps are very good. The paint on the SL11 was sloppy in comparison. So this is my new go to head. It does have a ball joint head, but the hole is very small, same size as a human head hole, if that makes sense. So you can do a straight swap with the spacetrooper, just take off the head, insert new helmet, no dremel. Fyi. The plastic is still easy enough to dremel through, just takes a while. I swapped heads on two legacy Stormtroopers, one with R1 head other with SL11."

Thats high praise as to me the SL version was the best out there to date! Thats also a good place to let us know what you picked up!

New Rogue One Hot Toys Vader looks awesome!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, October 2 2016
"Darth Vader returns in force this year with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! The epic space saga film takes place just before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, a time when the Galactic Empire is at the peak of its power, whereas the fledgling Rebel Alliance plots to thwart the Empire's plan to build a moon-sized battle station. As the Emperor's top enforcer and the symbol of the Empire's reign of terror, Lord Vader will crush the Rebels by any means necessary.

While fans worldwide are holding their breath to experience the new film, Sideshow and Hot Toys are here to unleash the power of the Dark Side with the new sixth scale Darth Vader collectible figure!

The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted featuring a newly developed body and armor, a new highly polished helmet sculpt, a sophisticatedly tailored and delicately textured costume, a utility belt with LED lights, a lightsaber hilt, and a Death Star theme figure stand.

When you pre-order now, you can also receive a specially designed Death Star theme double-sided backdrop as a pre-order bonus accessory!

Search your feelings... you know you want this for your Hot Toys Star Wars Collection! It is time to #GoRogue"

The Hunt for Luke is over!

""Luke Skywalker? I thought he was a myth." – Rey

In the aftermath of the fall of the Empire, Luke Skywalker, the last surviving Jedi, has put himself in exile after his attempt to train a new generation of Jedi went horribly awry. As a new threat to the galaxy known as the First Order emerges, Leia, Han, Chewie, and a group of Resistance heroes risk their lives trying to locate Luke's whereabouts - with the hope of bringing him back into the fold in their desperate struggle to restore peace and justice to the galaxy.

Sideshow and Hot Toys are very excited to officially present the highly anticipated sixth scale Luke Skywalker Collectible Figure from Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in the film featuring a newly developed head sculpt, specially tailored costume, a mechanical right hand, and a Star Wars-themed figure stand."

He sure does look spot on perfect to me.

Good ole eBay to your Rogue One Rescue...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 1 2016
Well after a rather lackluster performance by my local retail stores, yes I too have to go take a look at eBay.

From just a general search to the popular items like the Toys R Us Hovertank Pilot and the TIE Striker you can pretty much find everything there.

As always you need to check the feedback, look at the pictures and decide on box or cardback shape, but you know you can always trust eBay to get you what you ordered or get your money back!

Get your Rogue One on at EE!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, October 1 2016
I don't know about you, but the always varied lot at regular retail and the ultimate disappointment I get at not finding what I want just sours the whole collecting experience. Not to mention dealing with certain members of the general public who try to sour the experience even more by scalping, destroying, hoarding, etc. I tend to stick to collecting that puts a smile on my face.

Thats where EE comes in folks. I have never had a bad experience, period and I have been ordering from them for years. Mint condition is guaranteed and I have never had a package damaged that I received from em. I have always found their custom service second to none and I will always promote them.

That being said, don't let Force Friday and the lack of peg and product space get you down. Use Entertainment Earth for all of your Rogue One needs and they will get it too you quick like!
