nearly complete (still have a few final touches so don't take this as my final entry yet)






I think it is shaping up to be a pretty good likeness of the smaller version.  The helmet isn't perfect, theres a few things off... I also still need to make the backpack and add a few other minor details.  I should be able to finish it over the long weekend if I get a chance...  What do you guys think so far?

helmet looks great! nice clean sculpting too.

heres my work so far on the Shaak Ti
I reworked the hips to get rid of the wide load look..mostly just removed extra material from the legs and shortened the hip pegs.

and heres where Im at so far with the sculpting..added a bit to the chest and buttocks before adding the clothing..also started on the head,but far from finished

ha. Thanks Clint.  I've got a few more details to finish up on it this weekend if I can figure out how to do them...

Yeah, I agree on that hip issue.  I almost want to get out my leia and do the same thing to mine.  night and day difference.

I can't wait to see what you pull off Clint.  I'm waiting for someone to join the show with a tie pilot to at-at driver conversion.  I was considering that one myself...

I was actually thinking of doing one of those myself..but I have yet to find a Tie Pilot in the stores..our locations havent gotten them in yet. I was also considering taking the armor off one (drilling out the body) and using it on a Leia body for a female pilot..instead of the old swap the head technique. lol

Here are two additional shots I want to share here:




Of course the at-rt was made several months ago and should not be considered a part of this contest.  Just the driver figure. 

The backpack was made using 3 pieces of styrene glued one on top of the other and then carved out with an exacto.  Once I had the shape close I use sandpaper to get the final smooth form of the pack, glued on a few details and painted.  It is removable, with a small peg in the back.   

The mortar/rocket launcher is especially cool.  I used two super glue caps, a missile from a gi-joe gun, and styrene to make it.  Both the mortar and the rifle have shoulder straps made of faux leather and hang well on the figure's back.

well, I hope yall liked this one.  I had a ton of fun creating this.  Feels good to be working on a figure again.  Can't wait to see what yall come up with!

I do want to try the atat driver conversion but need another tie pilot first.
guess I could paint up a helmet anyways. Here are the first 4 6 inch scale pieces I am casting so far. I hadn't figured out how to market em yet. I thought it might be fun just to play around with em for a while.

And Shawn, this is how it starts...

I guess that atat driver would be more of a conventional conversion. I guess I wanted to try a couple of cannon conversion mods first.

Some years ago, I did a similar mod on a smaller scale helmet to make a phase 1 fox
This time, I want to try an AOTC Commander Cody

I had fought for a bit with different types of material, trying to fab up that cowl, but ended up pouring small sheets of resin and cutting the cowl pieces from that.
Using a sideshow version of the bucket as a guide, I did what I could to emulate the curving of the cowl with my material which was another reason for using the resin as I cold manipulate its shape with heat to adjust where needed.

I had been dragging my feet on this part as it was the most difficult step of the project
