Ron Hembling gives us the finished shots...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, February 28 2017
"Hi All,

Here are the usual outdoor pics please enjoy.

Ron"

Needless to say I think this one of the best of Ron's projects to date. Of course there are some that say I am biased when it comes to Ron's subject matter.

Mandalore 25 back with his best to date?
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 27 2017
"Second is Karness Muur, one of the original Sith Lords. Exiled from the known galaxy with fellow Dark Jedi for causing the Hundred-Year Darkness, where in unknown regions found the Sith (species), and declared themselves Sith Lords. A favorite story of mine, describing why they're known as Sith Lords, during the Prequels I always wondered "Lord of what?" when there were currently only two at a time. Made him from an Imperial Navy Commander, with a Boss Fight blank balled head, and some G.I. Joe armor. A lot of sculpt went into this one, tried to get as much detail as possible, notice the Lightsaber hilt even. Love the way he turned out, might be one of my best to date."

I like the looks of him too.

Mandalore 25 creates some Night Sisters...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 27 2017
"Two updates today, both requested by customers. First, 3 Clone Wars style Nightsisters, not overly fond the CW Nightsisters myself, for they're one of those instances in the CW where Filoni was given the right to do whatever he wanted, and ruined a culture. Don't understand why Lucas made all the EU writers obligated to work with each other, and build on each other's work, but then give the insane the keys to the asylum? Anyway, made them all from CW Asajj Ventress figures, swapped a head, some feet, and some minor sculpting. Made all the weapons from scratch, the bow string even glows in the dark."

These turned out very nice.

Bronxstalker is back with a new Mando...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 27 2017
"Here's a 3.75" Mando that I'm almost finished painting. I'll post better pictures once he's totally complete, but I couldn't wait to show him off. He was supposed to be Rohlan Dyre, but I got lazy and didn't want to tackle on his helmet, mostly because I wasn't sure how good it would come out. Anyway, like my Del Moomo, he's about a 98% pure sculpted figure. I took a GI Joe figure, and dremeled him down completely to a skeletal frame (like what Sith_fire30 does).

I'm rather fond of how he came out. Eventually, I plan on doing something similar with this character (total sculpted figure) but in 6" scale."

I agree he came out great!

Ron Hembling finishes his foot...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 27 2017
"Hi All,

The AT-AT foot and figure are now done. I painted the rocks Vallejo Matt Black and then a light dry brush of Vallejo Sky Grey.

The snow was done using watered down spakfilla and I kept adding water until the spakfilla is a paste type consistency. It was then spread over the base and foot and while it is drying I use a lightly damp baby wipe and press very softly on the spakfilla to give it a more natural look.

The client wanted the AT-AT driver articulated which is just a repaint which I used Vallejo paints the hardest part was the armour which is a light grey which I mixed Vallejo Sky grey and matt white until I got the colour to match the armour.

I will hopefully get my usual out door pics tomorrow if I get out of hopsital early after a procedure I have."

Oh yeah, it is looking fantastic!

Blizzard Force is back with two new Vintage Rogue One Cards...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 27 2017
"For the Empire! There've been just so many cool and iconic new Stormtrooper pics for Rogue One, so I didn't want to use just one of those... ;) The jungle pic is a variant of my #03 Stormtrooper, I did a separate designation for the Jedha Stormtrooper because of the different Blaster rifle.

Hasbro 3,75" figures (details repainted) on my custom Vintage Collection cardbacks for Rogue One."

They both look fantastic to me!

Talon shares two new custom figures...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, February 26 2017
"As I promised, I want to share my latest customs.

As I told told to Starchaser, I like the helmets from the new troopers too. For this reason I made molds and cast them for this customs.

I hope you like the figures and I´m ready for your feedback.

Greetings Talon"

They look good to me. I like the bio-hazard sign on the FO Trooper!

Clone Crazy shares his definitive Emperor...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, February 26 2017
"I've given up on Hasbro ever making a definitive ROTJ Emperor, so I wanted to try my hand at it. This was an easy figure to make just using the old Saga Collection Palps and a cape from my fodder bin. Had to glue the cloak for it to lay right. Whole thing only took me around 30 minutes, but I'm happy with the results."

I like the looks of his Emperor too! I am used the Clone Crazy giving us some great photo novels and it is great to see him getting into customizing!

Ron Hembling adds more to his foot!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, February 26 2017
"Hi All,

I have covered the rocks with spakfilla and then used a baby wipe to get rid of the pointy parts like I did for the asteroids on the Falcon dio. Once dry they will be painted and weathered then the snow will be added to them and the base.

Ron"

His attention to the smallest detail is really pushing this one over the top folks!

Gold Leader One is back with a new Custom Rebel Pilot...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, February 26 2017
"Here is another custom pilot from a video game I grew up playing. This is General Crix Madine, as Gold Leader from the original Rogue Squadron video game. This was the game's fifth mission. In Liberation of Gerrard V, Y-wings from Gold Squadron were tasked with disabling escaping yachts while Rogue Squadron provided cover. No images exist of Madine in a pilots uniform from the game, so I gave him a spare Gold Leader helmet. With this game being a few months after the Battle of Yavin, I thought it made sense for Madine to use a helmet like Gold Leader's, to honor him.

Same method with the Dash figure - boil and pop, then dremeled the neck out, and shaved down the neck post a bit. I was sure to use a taller pilot for the body, as it is the same height as the Madine figure."

Head on in for the full recipe.

Ron Hembling shares more custom memories...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, February 26 2017
"Bounty hunter with droid 3-3/4"

I am really liking seeing Ron upload his images of some of his older work that we hadn't yet seen here at the Yards. I am telling you Ron has got to be close to over 1,000 custom projects!

Peakob1 is back with a great kit-bashed line...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, February 26 2017
"Hello friends, Peak-OB1 here, just wanted share one of the many projects I have been working on... How cool would it be to stop for a moment and because we are all fans of star wars, celebrate it in OUR OWN WAY? Here for the first time, is an idea I have had in the works for some time now, a "KITBASHED 3.75 LINE" of sorts, to celebrate the 40th anniversary. How cool would it be if Hasbro took existing products and made us "NEW CHARACTERS" that we can be inspired by? Give me your thoughts on these..."

They sure do look great to me!

Ron Hembling updates us on his AT-AT Foot Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 25 2017
"Hi All,

85% done I just need to do a few little extra details and then do the base. I filled in the gaps with spakfilla and then once sanded I then used a cereal box to cover the foot and leg, I used 1/35 scale parts for the greeblies.

Ron"

Wow, you know I was gonna love this and I sure do!

DaBooma say it ain't so!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 25 2017
"Well guys, my days of customizing/collecting figures are coming to a close. What started out as a fun, creative and social hobby has become somewhat disappointing and frustrating. Hasbro's lack of articulation in it's figures and 2 "meh" movies, plus a lack luster toyline for them, has taken so much of this hobby's enjoyment away from me. And the only place to get what few articulated figures there are..is either ebay or Walmart. I've even begun selling off my Star Wars collection. I just don't have that enthusiasm for it--as I once did. Heck, I even got rid of the back drop I used to use for taking pictures of my customs

It was due in part to a customizer known as Bantha5 that in 2005, got me interested in this hobby with his awesome Clone Trooper to Commander Cody kit and Neyo kits (http://forum.rebelscum.com/showthread.php?t=906805). As well as inspiration from Sith_Fire30 and Glassman6's work. It was they that got me hooked on Rebelscum's forums, checking it out several times a day just to see what awesome and creative work others had to share. Eventually they stopped posting, as well as others I followed. Rebelscum started to "dry up", which lead me to other sites.. like this phenomenal community at the Shipyards. But I'm not as active on here as I wish I could be.

That being said...I've been working on two favored figures for a bit, and they will be my last. Up first is Sabine Wren. Although I'm not a fan of Rebels, I kinda dig the character and design. I made her mostly for my young daughter, hopefully she might appreciate the figure when she gets older.

So without further adieu.. Sabine Wren.

Body: Marauder Inc Valkyrie
Head: Marauder Inc Valkyrie
Chest Armor: Marauder Inc Valkyrie
Helmet: Hasbro Sabine Wren Version 2
Shoulder pads: random figure"

Needless to say I ain't liking the getting out of customizing message, but daggone we can all relate! His Sabine is fantastic!

Hasbro, I know you glance here from time to time, we are starting to hear these types of stories a good bit. Please revitalize and bring back the super articulated 3.75" line!

Ron Hembling goes down memory lane...

Trust me, you hit that link and there are a lot of custom projects you will see.

Clonetroopr shares his 50th Custom here at ISY!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, February 24 2017
"I didn't realize this marks my 50th custom here on Imperial Shipyards! Shocking to think it's been so long.

Enjoy :) The design is originally from the Revenge of the Sith videogame for the PS2 back in the day (reference photo is from the Battlefront 2 mod)

Painted up a green Clone Commander from the ROTS line in 501st colors, removed the pauldron, added the antennae, and made a custom rifle."

What a great accomplishment on both the fiftieth custom posting and the figure itself. Nice work!

We welcome Stocos028 to the Yards!

"Hey Mates, Here's a new sculpted I did of the Star Wars Character Darth Sion. This version is from the Force Unleashed DLC. I used a shirtless stormshadow torso and the gi joe movie firefly head to sculpt on. Let me know what you guys think of him. I'm also including some pics of my un-named Female Twilek Sith from the Star wars fallen empire trailer.

Blizzard Forces shares a new Rogue One Vintage Cardback...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, February 24 2017
"Well, I'm currently really motivated to continue, so here's the next one, a TIE Fighter pilot. Repainted a few details on him, especially the chest box and the helmet markings (to match the pic better)..."

Wow, I so wish we could get the regular Hasbro Line back to this!

Ron Hembling is back with a Jawa Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, February 24 2017
"Hi All,

This Jawa is for the same client that I'm doing the AT-AT foot for.

Recipe

Jawa - has a body from an old Madelman figure I got off ebay and I removed the lower legs and added boots from a old 6" figure I had in the parts box.

The head was from an old Call of duty WW2 figure and I cut the nose and ears off then I used thin lining model tape and wrapped it around the head and boots.

Once the tape was done I then used tissue paper and attached it to the head and boots using watered down PVA glue. The eyes are two elbow pins I took of an old arm that I had in the bits box.

The robe was from the Hasbro 6" Obi Wan Kenobi and I cut it down and repainted it and the bandolier weapon holsetr and belt are pieces of leather. The bandolier pouches are from the Bandai Sandtrooper shoulder ammo puuch and the rest of the pouches are from the Bandai Sandtrooper and other old figures.

The weapons are pieces of Bandai Sandtrooper weapons cut and attached to the desired look and the power supply is from the Bandai Deathtrooper and the connector/wire at the bottom the power supply is from a 1/6th scale WW2 German head set.

Base - is from Bandai with balsa wood sides and the sand is a mix of spakfilla/sand/paint and spread over the base and the Protocol Droid is the Bandai C3PO left over parts.

Ron"

It looks pretty nice to me!

Rezakai is back with new fan fiction!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, February 22 2017
"The blue hyperspace tunnel surrounding Lieutenant Klavine's A-Wing washed his control panels in a light blue hue. He had been familiar with seeing the blue streaking light since he started piloting. He often thought during these quiet moments about after the civil war was over, how he would return to his mother and explain what he had done and if his father would even stand to look at him or turn on him for being a traitor. Those bothering thoughts were often washed away like mud in a river when he entered hyperspace. Away from the politics of it all, he sat alone in the cockpit of his A-Wing awaiting the tunnel to dissipate and the blackness of space dotted with the stars of a tens of thousands of systems full his view."

That is just a taste folks!

Mandalore25 is back with some Sith Warriors!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, February 22 2017
"Falling behind again, I just get distracted, nearly forgot to vote next custom challenge even. Anyway, lets start with these SWTOR Sith Warriors. Going to make a small production of these to supply multiples for those interested, but it tops out at 5 of them. Would have liked to change the chest piece when character accuracy is very important to me, but the figure has a very odd shaped torso, I tried switching it with a few others, but they just didn't look right. On the bright side it cuts the material cost making them cheaper for those interested.

If anyone is interested they're listed here:"

They look pretty daggone sinister to me!

"Hi All,

Here are the usual pics and recipe.

Recipe

TB4 and Figure - TB4 is from the TB2 toy and was repainted using Vallejo paints and the figure is a 1/144 Gundam figure and was also painted using Vallejo paints.

Base - is two plastic bases from the Bnadai SW kits and I used balsa wood the sides, I then made the rocks using aluminium foil and then covered over using spakfilla.

The ruins were made using left over high density foam and I used a pencil to make the stones for the ruins floor. The small clumps of seaweed are from a company called miniNatur and the longer seaweed are from J's work and are laser printed paper and the sand was made using spakfilla and fine sand.

Ron"

"HALO CLONETROOPER

Inspired by the great concept art mady by jubjubjedi on deviantart: Deviant Art Link

HALO:
High-altitude military parachuting (or military free fall (MFF)) is a method of delivering military personnel, military equipment, and other military supplies from a transport aircraft at a high altitude via free-fall parachute insertion. Two techniques are used: HALO (high altitude – low opening) and HAHO (high altitude – high opening).

In the HALO technique, the parachutist opens his parachute at a low altitude after free-falling for a period of time, while in the HAHO technique, the parachutist opens his parachute at a high altitude just a few seconds after jumping from the aircraft."

Now that is a cool figure!

Ron Hembling completes Endor Patrol Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, February 17 2017
"Hi All,

Here are my usual pics please enjoy.

Recipe.

AT-ST & figures- is from Bandai and has been built straight out of the box. The figures are from the Imperial Assualt box set and the troopers are been modified.

Base - is high density foam and cut out and the trees have been done by using aluminium foil and then spakfilla was used to cover the foil and a wide brush was used to make the bark. The branches are from Woodland Scenics, I also used woodland Scenics for the smaller trees.

The ground work is spakfilla mixed with dirt and then spread across the base and once dry I used a mix of static grass, ground up leaves, dirt, railway model foam clumps and blended the lot together and glued to the base. The mud is a mix of spakfilla and paint and it was dapped over the base and once dry I used Woodland Scenics Realistic Water to give it a more wet look.

The undergrowth is from a company called MiniNatur and also Army Painter and once applied to the base it was sprayed with Matt Sealant.

Ron"

“The first Star Wars Force Friday event was truly unique, uniting fans across five continents in an unprecedented global live unboxing event ahead of thousands of midnight openings at retail,” says Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “We’re excited to confirm that Star Wars Force Friday is back for ‘The Last Jedi’. Plans for this year’s world-wide event are top secret but expect something befitting the excitement around the next episode of the Star Wars saga.”

Star Wars fans around the globe embraced Force Friday in 2015, with hundreds of thousands turning up to stores at midnight to be the first to get their hands on merchandise from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Toys from the new line were revealed via a global live-stream unboxing event that unfolded over 18 hours, 15 different cities and 12 countries, attracting millions of views on YouTube. Fans took to social media to share their experiences with nearly 3 billion Twitter impressions about the events, using #ForceFriday.

Jill Wilfert, Vice President of global licensing and entertainment from The LEGO Group comments, “It was so much fun to be a part of Star Wars Force Friday, and we can’t wait for fans to join this year’s celebration as we reveal new ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ products during Force Friday II – a global event that will connect fans and families, and allow them to build, create and share their experiences with others.”

Details of how fans can participate will be revealed closer to the event but the world-wide launch will tap new technology and Star Wars mythology to create a unique experience for fans. Just like 2015, products for “The Last Jedi” will be kept under wraps until Force Friday II to preserve surprises for fans. As well as introducing new characters from the movie in toy form, the line will build on the success of products like Sphero’s BB-8, introducing more innovative technology to bring the characters and stories from the film to life in unique ways.

“Toys play a unique role in the Star Wars universe, and we’re proud to have been part of that incredible legacy for the past forty years. The new line for ‘The Last Jedi’ is our most innovative yet, and we’re excited to unveil it on Force Friday II,” said Samantha Lomow, Senior Vice President at Hasbro.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the highest grossing movie of all time domestically and that success was mirrored at retail. NPD[1] reported that Star Wars was the number one toy property in the U.S. for 2016 and 2015, and that during the week of Force Friday, $1 for every $11 spent on toys was on a Star Wars item. Additionally, the popularity of the movie propelled Star Wars onto the top ten toy list for both boys and girls for the first time ever in 2015[2].

Also being revealed today is a first look at packaging for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” products which feature leading heroes: Poe Dameron, Rey and Finn. The trio will be featured on Star Wars packaging beginning September 1, 2017.

Fans can stay tuned to StarWars.com for more details on Force Friday II events, and can follow the conversation on social using #ForceFridayII.

JDeck sends in a small update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, February 16 2017
"Here's a small update on the Outback figure. I used the 50th Outback backpack, but painted it from black to two tone green, then I added a green U.S. flag patch and a small Ranger patch. I used the web gear from a cobra trooper, and painted that two tone green. The rest of the accessories are from the 50th Outback. Cool thing about the backpack is it opens up and you can put his accessories in it."

Now that is one cool backpack!

Ron Hembling finishes his latest Sandtrooper Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, February 15 2017
"Hi All,

Finished this one.

The Trooper is built straight out off the box and I used stockings to cover the joints and painted and weathered it using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

The base is the troopers base and I used high denisty foam and the door is foam with plastic card. The control is made from pieces of plastic card, the wall and sand was done using a mix of spakfilla and sand.

Ron"

Ron likes his Sandtroopers. I can't wait to see his progress on his AT-AT Foot Dio too.

JDeck is back with a JOE Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, February 14 2017
"I started getting back into GI JOE, after 25 years or so. I am amazed at the quality of the 50th anniversary figures, however some of them need customizing.

I made this Outback figure because the 50th was way too big and his shirt was blue instead of white. I always vision him as average sized, not like Leatherneck or Bazooka.

I remedied these issues simply by using the 50th Shipwreck figure. First I swapped arms with a Dusty figure becase of Shipwreck's tattoo. Then I painted over the "NAVY" lettering on the shirt, I ended up painting the whole shirt light tan for a more modern military look. Then I applied the "Survival" decal I got from Bad Mother customs."

Looks like a perfect figure now to me!

"Hi All,

Besides doing the AT-AT foot I amd also doing small dio's for the Local Con that is happening in June.

This dio will depict a Sandtrooper in front of a door, I did the frame using high denisty foam and plastic card. I covered the ground and building using a mix of sand/spakfilla and paint, I now need to paint the sand and walls and then weather both the dio and figure.

Ron"

Leave it to Ron to work on two outstanding projects at the same time!

"The Last Orders of Captain Kai

The interior of the Riptide had taken quite a bit of damage from the crash but the main hangar was still operational with emergency power. Inside the hangar four of the seven Y-wings Commander Vorm had been lead of were parked getting refueled and repaired. Command Vorm being the Mon Calamari squadron leader had a conversation with Captain Barrax over the viewer a few moments earlier and was taking in all the information. Seven Y-wings and a pair of A-Wings were all we had left from the reserves aboard. He opened his cockpit and hoped into the grav-couch as he reviewed the information."

And that is just the first paragraph!

"Heres two more clone wars customs I did last year. I really enjoy making and collecting mandalorian action figures. These two were high up on my must make/own list. The pre viszla I just modified by shaving his hair off using a dremel, gauntlets are fodder from a cad bane figure, I also sculpted and added greeblies for the antenae on his helmet and gave him a total repaint matching his uniform in CW. Jango Fett I did a bunch of sculpting, I didnt have an extra deathwatch body so I just used a CW Anakin Skywalker as a base and sculpted the armor. I used a Clone trooper head cast for jangos head and used a casted helmet as well. The gauntlets and holsters are sculpted and fodder added. Jet pack is casted also. hopefully you enjoy. Thanks for looking!

1) Pre Vizsla
2) Jango Fett (clone wars style)

"This was my first attempt at making a ball-jointed neck figure from the boil and pop method. I did a practice run on a previous figure. This one came out ok but I would like to try again at some point. I wanted to make my own version of a super articulated Dash Rendar from the Battle of Hoth during Shadows of the Empire. I dremeled out the head which came out ok, then did some dremeling to the neck post as well."

Bronxstalker is back with a new Mando...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, February 8 2017
"Here's a 6" Mandalorian (my second Mandalorian at this scale).

I'm actually VERY stoked about how he came out, and after seeing how he came out, I plan on making a ton more in this scale. He started off as a black series first order stormtrooper, added some sculpted armor parts, and totally repainted.

As far as the painting goes, this is my second figure where about 95% of his paint job is totally airbrushed, even his guns are airbrushed. A few months back, I bought an airbrush so that I could use it for hard to paint colors (whites, yellows, some reds, etc). All his blacks and reds are totally airbrushed. I love airbrushing now. The paint job comes out so incredibly smooth. Also, it allows for some wicked shading effects."

Wow, that is a great looking Mando. Maybe we all need to try the airbrush!

Ron Hembling shares the latest on his Fett Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, February 7 2017
"Hi All,

95% done with this commission, all I have to do is let the flames dry then give the whole thing a matt finish and add gloss to the visor.

The flames were done by using Woodland scenics water effects and adding paint to the effects once it dried and the smoke is cotton wool glued in place then pastel chalks were used to give it a more realistic look.

I will get my usual pics up in the next day or two.

Ron"

I knew the flame and smoke effects would be awesome, but wow!

More great work from Ron Hembling's past...

-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 6 2017
"Hi All,

Almost completed this commission piece I just need to add the smoke and flames fro the thrusters and flame thrower and also the cape and wookie braids.

The last bit will be a little weathering to Fett. I decided to go for a rusty type structure as it will work well with the smoke. The Mando skull logo's were drawn with a pencil then painted.

Ron"

Well that sure didn't take him long. This one is gonna really rock when he adds the jetpack flame and smoke!

Mandalore 25 with his latest update...

"Next from the KOTOR comics, Jedi Covenant Seer Xamar. This on is a number of different parts, legs are from Miiyoom Onith (because they're short), body ANH Luke, arms from some Indiana Jones figure, and head is from a Boss Fight blank. I sculpt most of the belt, his ears, and tendrils on his face. Soft goods are just what I had laying around.

If anyone is interested, he's listed here:"

I think he has us all caught up to date.

Mandalore 25 back with two more...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, February 6 2017
"Two more today, then I think you guys are caught up on all my figures here. Technically both are KOTOR characters, but one is from the comics, and one is from a video game (completely different stories). First I'll start with the one from KOTOR II, Mira, a bounty hunter companion from Nar Shaddaa. One of my favorite parts about KOTOR II is you can pretty much make all you companions jedi, and they'll be known as the Lost Jedi that will rebuild the order after the First Jedi Purge. Made her from a slave Leia body with an Aurra Sing vest, and Juno eclipse arms, and legs. Painted the vest black like the arms to look like a jacket, then sculpt the hair, and wrist cannon thing.

If anyone is interested, she's listed here:"

She looks good to me!

OC47150 shares more great customs...

A couple more customs.

A Kanan Jarrus Jedi figure if he served during the Clone Wars. The Kanan head fits nicely on the CW Obi-Wan figure, and a little paint makes him a little different.

A super articulated FO stormie Finn. This is one Hasbro should've gave us, IMO."

I couldn't agree more. Scroll around there are even two more to see after that too.

His group shot of all of them together is great! I always like seeing the realistic figure impressions of animated or cartoon series figures. I remember getting up on Saturday mornings to watch this cartoon so long ago!

My wife put me onto this fan made film of Toy Story meets Star Wars. Definitely maxes out the cute scale!

Mandalore 25 has a second update too...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
"Second is another from SWTOR Lana Beniko. I think I nailed her look, she's a Juno Eclipse, with Vader arms, and a different head. The rest is sculpt, last picture comparing the sculpt to the finished product.

If anyone is interested, she's listed here:"

She also looks great to me.

Mandalore 25 is back with a Star Wars Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
"Falling a bit behind here, and I think I skipped showing a figure, but I'll catch things up starting with two figures today. First is Vaylin from SWTOR. Made her from a Deena Shan, with a different belt, and head. Her cloak is modified from a black robe, but I'm not overly fond of how large it is, thinking I'll have another go at her sometime, and sculpt the cloak. The lightsaber was a pale green blade, that I panted with Tamiya Clear Yellow, the last pic is trying the same thing with orange, and red, works pretty well, but the initial color must be pale.

If anyone is interested, she's listed here:"

Looks good to me!

Ron Hembling close to finishing his latest dio project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
"Hi All,

I'm 90% done with these two dios, I just need to add the vegetation and paint the sides and then a little more weathering.

The pipes/hoses ate just old electrical cord cut to size and then glued in place. the tarmac is a piece of cardboard and then I painted it and the FOD lines with Vallejo paints.

The sand was done by mixing sand/spakfilla/paint and a little water together and then it was spread over the bases."

I like how these are two separate dios that go together to make a bigger one!

Mr. Jedi 1977 is back with more vintage carded customs!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
Did you see his great big ole custom vintage carded customs update? If not, you don't know what you are missing. I had to share at least one more. The Mon Cal Officer you see above I think looks great; as do the rest of them!

OC47150 is back with a padawan custom!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
"Here's a quick one for the weekend. One of my favorite Dark Horse storylines was the battle of Jabiim, in particular the Padawan Pack. These are padawans who'd lost their masters, yet continued to fight. The one character that always stood out for me was Vaabesh, the Gand Jedi."

Click on through for the recipe and how he created this custom Jedi!

Ron Hembling gives us a back from the past update!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
"Hi All,

Shawn asked if I would show all my older customs so how could I refuse, so here are some of my old, old customs from 2005-2008.

Ron"

Oh yeah, I couldn't stand not seeing some of this earlier work! As you will see when you scroll around Ron has some awesome Raider of the Lost Ark, WWII, Clonetroopers, and Jedi Customs.

Legion078 reviews the new Wal-Mart Black Series AT-ST...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, February 4 2017
"Surprisingly this AT-ST Walker showed up at the beginning of the year in some Walmart stores. Hasbro has yet to confirm this exclusive, which they will probably happen on New York Toy Fair in February 2017.

And since this vehicle is still relatively new I think it makes sense to review and compare it to previous releases!

I am very lucky! As you know I live in Germany. So I am actually not supposed to own this vehicle.
However on Saturday my dad returned from Florida. Before he went there I asked him if he could go to Walmart and take a picture of their Star Wars Hasbro Aisle(s). I wanted to see what was availble in FL right now. Unfortunately he did not send me a picture.
Instead he brought me the TBS AT-ST Walker, which I review for you, now:"

Folks, he is very thorough with this review and his comparison images with the other at-st offerings are great to see!

Ajunta Pall is back with a DROIDS Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, February 2 2017
"Ive always been a huge fan of the 80s cartoon DROIDS and wanted those vintage figs but never scored any. I was really inspired by PeakOb1's customs of the few characters he chose to customise, so i made a few for my own collection.

1) Boba Fett ( droids cartoon version- the lighting makes it look more blue than it is and i couldnt fix it)
2) Tig Fromm
3) Jessica Meade
4) Thall Joben (needs work still)
5) Kea Moll
"

He has even done some photoshop work of what these might look on their Droids Vintage Cardbacks. Great customs and great image work!

Dayton Allen getting back to Star Wars Customs!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, February 1 2017
Of course we like all his customizing (lately such great ALIENS work), but I would definitely be remiss if I didn't share his latest post on his Star Wars KOTOR work.

I can remember so long ago reading about Dayton's work in Star Wars Insider and contacting him. What a great ambassador for our hobby Sith Fire 30 is!

Have you seen Mr. Jedi 1977's big carded update?
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, February 1 2017
I featured one of these yesterday, but that is just a drop in the proverbial bucket for all the great new vintage carded customs he has for us to peruse.

It really, really makes me wish we could get something like this (vintage cards and fully articulated figures) at regular retail. We always ask Hasbro when the vintage cards will return and I guess this Q and A Session will be no differnt.
