Now to brighten things up, this is my Final Entry! Behold my Basilisk War Droid. I'm beyond proud of it, I think it turned out fantastic! I think I meet the scratch build, it's main body, and arms are mandroid, the hands are from the marvel goblin baf, the little legs are from battle droids, the tubing is lego, the frame for the tail is actually made out of a toy lobster, the nose guns are two dark trooper blasters, the other guns are made from two cw kit fisto jetpacks, the jets on the back are crayola marker caps, and all the armor/coverings I made fro sheets of styrene. Scratch build enough?  ;D  Debated for a long while on if I should weather it or not, glad I did, for it is a WAR droid after all, a clean one would just be obscure. Added Mandalore the Indomitable in the first pic because they just look like they belong together, but without modification he can't sit atop it. Added the cw mandalorian because I wanted a mando to ride it. Hope everyone likes it!

For the record I agree, the more the merrier.  This should be fun and all the nitpicking is just frustrating for everyone.

Now,
Mandlore that war droid is every bit as fantastic as I had hoped it would be.  You have definitely proven yourself and you should be damn proud of that.   That is a perfect kit-bash/ scratch build if I ever saw one.  I would never have been able to identify the parts you used had you not shown WIP shots and explained the build!  That is how its done.

Thank you very much JDeck! It is an original design by me utilizing parts from EU speeder bike toys.
I am really pleased with the outcome of my custom IMPERIAL PATROL SKIFF.

Ultimately folks I will decide if the entry meets the contest parameters. Frankly all this conjecture is making my head hurt and in my opinion is really taking away the spirit of the challenge. From here on out lets just enjoy what folks enter.

And wow, what a great War Droid and Imperial Patrol Skiff. What great execution on both!

Mandalore 25 had to get your entry on the main page as a reminder this is the last day to enter! I would be so stoked to own something like that. Too bad hasbro will never make one, but at least you have one!

And IABF I will definitely be showcasing your great skiff at the top of the page tomorrow.

I will preview all the entries we get today too over the next few days and then we can sort out the vote.

Thanks for the front page treatment Tamer, and I have one, for now at least. As I've previously stated on my very early posts here, I'm not a fan of customs in my personal collection, but I want to see how the contest goes first. Might make an exception, but I also think I can make bank on it, so we'll see. Thanks for all the other complements too, glad you like it spudafett, JDeck, and thanks for the weathering appreciation Clonehead, that was really a last min decision.

Kit bashing in the modeling community is considered taking parts from different kits to make a completely new design...I'll use the OT ships for example...or the ST patrol skiff shown above..different kits (toys) were used to make a completely new idea. You can pick out what was used, but its certainly different than what it started out to be. The Barc speeder on the other hand is..well..its a Barc speeder with a gun added to the front...I dont see that the silhouette has been changed at all..and its not a new design..its not a scratch build either. Im sorry if that may offend anyone..but the rules to me were more obvious than they were grey. If I took a Luke and gave him a GI Joe weapon..is that too considered a kit bash? On the same token, the 6" scaled speeder bike, yes, its an existing design, but only in 3.75" ..he built his in 6" scale completely from scratch. Just giving an unbiased opinion here..Im not an entrant, nor did I create the contest.

I-am-boba-fett, that looks fantastic!  It took me a little while to figure out what you used, and when I scrolled down to read that it was EU-rebel speeders I was happy to see I was right!  Very creative design and well executed.  I love the paint job.   I like seeing customs that have PLAYABILITY built in, these are after all supposed to be toys and not models.  Adding the magnets to the bottom was a fantastic and novel idea!  I love it!

Halicon, you never cease to amaze with the crispness of your scratch builds.
