Nice Serg, part of the problem I have with mine is not the look, but the fact that they are so stiff. These look perfect.

The original screen used hoses were vintage hand dryer hoses and they were more rubbery, and most likely painted gray. The ones used by everyone today are stiffer, but still ok. Some even use washing machine hoses, which some are close to being very accurate and some are not. Since I don't intend to join 501st nor to wear my armor these hoses are perfect. I managed to make them look very close to how they looked on screen.

Heck Serg, the 501st should ask you to join so you can help judge new TA and TK id's alone. I trust your judgement at least as good if not more than the 501st experts.

Thank you, but I'm no expert. I read a lot and I like learning new things on my own, not waiting for others to give me everything. The research is fun on its own :)

BTW the busts on display:

Autograph from visual effects artist and modeler Lorne Peterson. Long story with this one, I sent the plaque to a company where I later found out they don't accept send-ins. But they still were very kind to forward my envelope to Mr. Peterson who signed it for me. He worked on many Star Wars models including TIE Fighter, X-Wing, Y-Wing, Star Destroyers, Millennium Falcon, Slave 1 etc., and he is the author of the 2006 book, "Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars Model Shop".

A really nice Black Series 6" Sandrooper as present from a good friend - I weathered it a bit more, and painted the white joints black as they should have been:

Now just to get the Black Series Stormtrooper

The uber accurate Stormtrooper blaster power cylinders made by Andy (PlayfulWolfCub) on FISD 501st forum finally arrived. :) The details of these greeblies are simply amazing, their accuracy surpasses any other attempt in making these cool parts of an E-11. He used a real trio of capacitors, added a great accurate weathering, and even beautiful display cases and numbered COA's.

You can find out more about the long research and the work involved in making these fantastic E-11 cylinders here: E-11 Power Cylinders Research Thread - 501st First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment.

From Andy's research: "We know that these were made from some type of electronic component but, despite fans searching long and hard over the years, no-one has yet discovered exactly what they were originally used for. The most recent research suggests that they were probably taken out of British military RADAR equipment from the 1950s.

There aren’t many detailed photographs of the Cylinders on blasters for us to study. Fortunately the same electronic components were also used on the MSE droid, Luke’s landspeeder and the Y-Wing targeting computer. Studying good photographs of these props provides us with enough information to recreate the E11 Power Cylinders very accurately."

There are 2 versions I chose to be made for my Sterling E-11 (though there are all 5 versions available):

- shape A - "Leia's Escort" used by the Stormtroopers escorting Leia on Tantive 4, this one is more weathered, and comes with a cool straggly wire
- shape B - "Detention Block" from one of Han’s E-11 blasters in the Detention Block corridor

Now I can finally say my Sterling blaster is finished, and I could display it with any of the 2 cylinders, because they come with strong earth magnets on the back. But I intend to display my blaster with the Detention Block version, and keep the weathered one in its small display box on the shelf next to the E-11.

Wow, talk about attention to the slightest detail. I love reading about where all these parts came from and didn't even know there was that much difference between said parts between the two versions. Fantastic. What can I say Serg, off to share  yet again.

Thank you! :) I strive for accuracy especially when talking about some of the collectibles I own, and the Sterling E-11 conversion is one of them. From what I know there is no ANH blaster still left 100% the way it was filmed in SW back then. Even the ones sold at official auctions, were resin casts of original Sterlings (they used resin casts in SW too), or even if they were (Bapty) Sterlings they were stripped naked long ago, being returned to their original sub-machine gun look, and the auction house simply added some t-tracks they found, a scope and a Hengstler counter - many times inaccurate (they didn't do the research like some of the fans did).
