I can see means business!

Starchaser shares a new custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 30 2019
"Vacation's over - so I have some time to build (I know its supposed to be the other way round - but not in our house). Working on several things, but finished this one up and thought I would share it:

After escaping a harrowing near-death experience in the Core Worlds, Caji Medduwn made his way to the planet Lehon in the Unknown Regions. He said it was to learn the lessons of history there. With a prosthetic right forearm, purple honor stripes on his helmet, and surprising knowledge of the history of Lehon (a planet which is virtually unknown in the broader galaxy) there is a story behind the identity of this mysterious figure. Over time, he has developed a reputation in his sector of the Unknown Regions. Along with a small band of comrades, whom he calls “Equitors,” Caji shows up, often unexpectedly, to aid those in need, especially those being oppressed."

And that is just the start of the great description and recipe.

Ron Hembling finishes his WW2 Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 29 2019
"Hi All,

The park wall and the Sturmbannfuhrer figure are now completed.
Recipe.

Figure - is from DAMTOYS and even thou the figure and accessories are excellent and myself being a military modeler and customizer I had to repaint the heads, hands, uniform and equipment.

Base - is high density foam and the park wall and bricks have been made using high density foam and the cobblestone was done using a sharp led pencil. The park bench is a dollhouse MDF kit I got from ebay and the signs are from Verlinden which I have had for years and are in 1:35 scale so I had to scan them and resize them to 1:12 scale.

Ron"

Click through to see the full recipe and description with more great images. Ron sure does work some magic. I mean the brick work alone is jaw dropping!

JDeck continues his Endor Dio Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 29 2019
"Also in my forest diorama arsenal, I have this fake cedar Garland. I haven't really used it because it's just lanky and out of scale. So, I dipped them in my white glue/ water mixture, then sprinkled them with fine turf.

Also I made my first attempt at making a 1/48 Ewok. I think I have the scale right. Maybe a little short, but I'll try again. It's been a productive Sunday."

I would say it was productive make sure you scroll around to see how he made his trees too. Very nice!

JDeck decides his next dio build...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 26 2019
"It's going to be the Ewok AT-ST trap with the swinging logs. I've been wanting to build a the scene in the process of getting smashed, but I like it this way, because, we've all seen the movie and we know what's going to happen. It builds suspense, the moment right before getting smashed, the very last step, the point of no return."

This ought to be fun. We will all follow his progress.

Darth More wants to know what you think should get the vintage treatment...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 25 2019
"So what are your observations and suggestions for repacks/re-releases for our beloved The Vintage Collection?"

I already typed in my own replay and could have went on for days. Lets just say with the 40th anniversary of TESB coming up I can sure see a lot of new and re-releases in a vintage box or deco. Frankly, if I were Hasbro, I would put everything they make Star Wars in a vintage box or package!

Ron Hembling starts new project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 25 2019
"Hi All,

Started a new 1:12 scale project today and this is going to be a display section of a park wall in WWII Normandy 1944. The figure is from DAMTOYS and fully articulated and comes with two heads, varies hands and equipment. The base and park wall are high denisty foam and I used a sharp led pencil and carved all the details and the park bench is MDF doll house kit I picked up of ebay.

Next up will be adding a little more battle damage and bullet holes and then painting and weathering.

Ron"

He already has posted great new updates after this so please scroll around.

JDeck has a dio question...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 25 2019
"I'm planning on moving soon, I'm not sure if I'm going to have a hobby room, or a home office for a tax write-off. At any rate I want to use up the diorama stuff I have, because most of it will end up in the dumpster, otherwise.

I am debating on whether to build a 1/18 Scout Trooper mission diorama, or a 1/48 AT-ST using a Bandai kit I haven't put together yet. Oooorrrr I can rebuild my Ewok display, bigger, better and more ewokeier. What do y'all think?"

And to top that off he has another post right after that where he shows huge chunks of insulation board and more foresty type stuff. Let him know what you think.

JDeck shares his Imperial AT-RT...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 21 2019
"I finally painted the AT-RT. First I painted it forest green, then some kind of grey, I think it's USAF grey. Then I gave it a black wash. I added a antenna from a GI JOE Jeep of some kind. I was debating on painting it green, or some kind of camouflage, but classic grey for walkers always works. Besides, I wanted some contrast from the green figure. I might add some little doodads or something to it. I did make a custom cannon. An over under design, with a heavy blaster on top, a heavy repeater on the bottom and a rocket pod on the right side."

Click through to read his full description. It sure does work in the ole Imperial Garrison thats for sure! JDeck is also building weapons for his new case of Stormtroopers coming soon!

Ron Hembling creates a ToyBox Indy...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, July 20 2019
"Hi All,

Disney Toybox Indiana Jones.

Recipe.

Indy - is from the Disney Toybox Millennium Falcon set, I added a pic at the end of a before shot of him. I removed the belt, holster and hair and added hair using milliput and then painted the hair and facial hair using Vallejo Paints.

The jacket and pants were originally for two x 1:12 Indiana Jones figures which I had two sets made and decided to use the second set for this figure. The jacket/pants were made by a mate overseas and here is his Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/ageoftoys/.

Base - is a action figure stand I have had for years and the floor and wall are stands from Figma's Professor Layton figure, the dirt is a mix of sand and spakfilla. The vines and ferns are from the local craft store and the small shrubs are from the local hobby shop.

Ron"

"Hi All,

"Houston we have a Problem" - 1:18 scale.

This is why we never went back to the moon.

Recipe.

Astronauts - are from Dragon Models and they had minor articulation in the shoulders and thighs using ball joints so I removed them and re-glued the arms and legs back on and puttied up the gaps and re-painted them using Vallejo Paints.

The NASA patch and flag I got off the net and resized them and printed them off and cut them out and glued them into place using PVA glue.

Base - is foam board and the Horus statues are from Reality In Scale and the tiled floor was done using cork board. The moon ground work was done using spakfilla and sand and once dry it was painted grey and then grey pastel chalks.

Ron"

-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, July 12 2019
"Okay, here are a few custom commission figures I got completed this last month.

The first is a Lepi Jedi that I did on commission. Pretty much just a head swap, but I though the light saber came out nicely. I had to carve it down from a rocket.

The second is one a did as part of a silent auction we put on for a coworker fighting cancer. The request was for a Prince figure, so of course I went Purple Rain.

The last one of the bunch is The Heel, a character from some comics I created back in college. Very rough, poorly drawn and poorly written comics. if you feel like abusing your self they can be seen at http://www.weakcut.com

Clan Leader Yautja shows it doesn't take much sometimes...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 11 2019
"Not much of being customs, but I love this set.

I dry brushed the death troopers with Silver to bring out detail. DLT heavy rifle is a custom made weapon."

It really makes em pop folks.

Panther creates a Lunarscape...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 11 2019
"This year for the Bradford Science Festival the theme is space, so I am creating a Lunar landscape diorama with the activity of children creating plasticine aliens to place within it.

I’ve created a box which is 30?x 23.75? x 17? which at the moment has a double layer of 10mm board. To create the surface I will be laying a foundation of newspaper, layered with wire mess. The craters will also be made of mess and then coated with Modroc plaster of paris strips."

Folks, like I said earlier, I have been out a few days, but seeing this go from nothing to almost complete is stellar! Not much pun intended! Make sure you scroll around and see the entire process.

Ghost Skull 18 shares a new Maul...

"Maul is made from kylo ren with the head of a 4poa dollar general maul, the saber is a custom cast that i purchased from outer rim traders on facebook, the stick portion is a modified skewer with paint, the gun pictured is from outer rim as well an is made to go with my holiday fett"

Darth Daddy shows you what you can do if you have a mind too...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 11 2019
"It is comments like these that make me want to push myself outside of my comfort zone and make those pieces that I never thought I could do. This next piece is one of those pieces.

"PROFESSOR HUYANG" created by Darth Daddy

Professor Huyang was an ancient droid who made his first appearance on screens in Season 5 of The Clone Wars television series. Huyang was a storied architect who oversaw the construction of Jedi lighstabers for many centuries.

Professor Huyang was an action figure that was at the very top of Dad's wishlist, but due to the difficulty involved in producing this character in plastic, Dad never really considered trying to make him. That was until he saw that a customizer named Isotelus offered a 3-D print file for Huyang that he designed and made available for free to the public."

Folks trust me when I say this is one of the most involved custom processes I have seen. You have to admire that dedication and it really shows in the finished custom!

CloneTroopr improves the new Crait Luke...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 11 2019
"Facial paint for the new Luke Skywalker (Crait) Vintage Collection figure was definitely a bit wonky. I repainted the hair, beard, brows, and pupils to better match Mark Hamill's likeness. It helped that the facial sculpt is actually quite spot-on. I've included a "before" picture too. Enjoy! 0/ Loving this figure."

Now that is one drastic facial improvement folks!

Darth Sinister shares a great Mando Custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 11 2019
"Hi gang! Here's my latest custom. Head by me.
Check my eBay shop if you're interested.

RE-ENVISION THE PREQUELS.
From my graphic artwork comes the Mandalorian Death Squad Commando. The mysterious Mandalorians were closed off from the galaxy for hundreds of years until coaxed into war against the Galactic Republic by Count Dooku. A society of Cloners, the vicious Mandalorian armies are entirely made up of clones of the very best warriors of their people. The most deadly of these armies are known as the Death Squad Commandos. They are used in the most dangerous situations including extractions, tactical seizures and assassinations."

Now this is fun! I also saw a pretty awesome looking Jaxxon at his eBay Location too.

also Kenner easter-egg for you vintage commercial watching media watching types... hehe))"

The Last Orders of Captain Kai is always a fun read folks.

"Dear Friends,

Thanks to your support, our Kickstarter book project Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Archive Edition was fully funded on the first day! Now, as we come into the home stretch, we're asking for your help to make one last push to your readers so we can unlock the remaining stretch goals for all book backers.

This is the last week to back The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book on Kickstarter. The campaign wraps up at 11:38 EDT on Sunday, July 14. Any last minute holdouts should act now as it's the only way to get the Kickstarter exclusive Star Wars Vinyl Case slipcover and will be the only opportunity to get the book with all of the unlocked bonus stretch goal content. Best of all, the stretch goals are free to anyone who backs a book.

So far backers have unlocked additional book chapters including a fan-demanded chapter on unproduced items, a visual quick-reference figure guide, a three-page spread for the Millennium Falcon and Jabba's Barge vehicles, an appendix with all figure packaging variations, a folio with chapter break prints featuring photos by some of the world's top toy photographers, and a special throwback poster by former Kenner photographer Kim Simmons. Phew!"

JDeck finishes his Boushh Chewie...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, July 7 2019
"I pretty much finished the Boushh prisoner Chewbacca figure. I just sculpted some spikes on the collar, and removed the ring connecting to the collar. Then I gave Chewbacca some highlights in his hair with a dry brushed desert yellow. I might fool with the hair a little more, but maybe not. Looks good enough for me."

I think it looks pretty good too!

JDeck starts work on his Prisoner Chewie...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 3 2019
"I started on my Boushh prisoner Chewbacca. Im using the TBS WM exclusive ROTJ Chewbacca, basically dremmeled the neck down. Then sculpted the hair with an indentation for the collar. Then sculpted the collar. It still needs lots of work. I just wanted to throw some paint on to see how it's shaping up. At first it looked like a neck brace, more like Litigious Chewbacca in whiplash gear."

JDeck makes me chuckle!

OC47150 is back...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 3 2019
"Again, long overdue for posting. I've been creating some cool SW and non-SW figures lately. Here's the first round.

Ketwol the Pacithhip had fallen on bad luck. After the events of ANH, he opened a small shop in Mos Eisley where he sold odds and ends and brokered information.

Used the Ketwol figure and painted the torso and his legs. The jacket is a dyed Naboo pilot jacket. The beret is made from Green Stuff."

Thats a nice custom!

Ron Hembling finishes his Jurassic Park Jeep Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 2 2019
"Hi All,

Jurassic Park - Robert Muldoon's jeep number 10 - Completed.

Recipe.

Jeep - is from Mattel and I removed the roll bars which the one on the windscreen needed to be cut off the windscreen using a knife as it was molded to the windscreen. I repainted the jeeps red area's using Vallejo's Flat Red and mixed Vallejo's Beige Brown, White and Iraqi Sand until I got the colour to match and repainted the numbers.

Base - is s picture frame which has had foam board added from strength and for the base of the diorama. The mud is a mix of fine sand, spakfilla and Vallejo's Chocolate Brown paint and it was mixed and then applied to both the base and jeep. Once the mix was dry I then applied a ground cover on both sides using a mix of sand, dirt, thin sticks, lichen moss, static grass and leaves and this was then applied to the base.

Ron"

Ron sure does awesome work!
