Mandalore 25 finishes his 195th Custom!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 30 2016
"Worked all night to finish this one, here is my finished 195th figure! Put a clear coat over the spray paint, and detailed it with two shades of brown. 13 hours in to this figure, a lot of sculpting, but always worth it to see the finished product. I primarily based it off of the Kotor version I pictured with the WIPs, but I gave it a touch of the The Old Republic version (the spikes on the back are more similar to that version), and added my own twist. My personal twist comes from the lack of eyes, for playing Kotor at the age of 11, I could clearly see frame in the game clearly has no eyes (apparently they are in the texture that goes over the frame?), so I just assumed they didn't. Even then I had already read of many blind Jedi that could "see" through the force better than those using their eyes, and it makes perfect sense to me when they are known as jedi killers. If they saw through the force, a jedi would be like a beacon. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer mine over the TOR version all fleshy looking, nothing like the feral jedi eaters they are.

If anyone is interested, it's listed here."

What a great accomplishment and a great custom figure if you are interested!

The Closet Jedi shows us his Tantive IV Hallway...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 29 2016
"So here is my Tantive IV Hallway with door.

Its been printed at shape ways and I love it. Still a work in progress most of the detail painting has to be done. This section will be printed in three Parts. Left side with floor. Right side wall that fits perfectly against it and the Arch way and door wall in one piece. The left and right walls will be available in many different combinations or any way you want it. I have printed enough of these to be sure that each piece will print out beautifully each time.

Right Now I am trying to complete the whole Tantive IV corridor for myself. I would like to have a two foot section with a angled hallway and side hallway entrance for Princess Leia's transfer of the plans to r2D2. I am sure most of you have seen that incredible diorama on youtube where some one built a long corridor out of paper."

It looks great to me!

This custom figure stands 2 3/8" tall and it is in scale with all 3.75" action figures. A small strong magnet is embedded into his right hand and also into the resin cast Tusken Battle Talisman that he plans on trading to a Jawa in Mos Eisley."

Pretty cool if you ask me!

Blizzard Force making real a lost German Vintage Kenner Line!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, June 28 2016
"Well...there were several vintage lines worldwide. The UK had Palitoy, France Meccano, Mexico Lili Ledy etc... In Germany the distributor was Parker, years ago pics surfaced of this flyer with mockups:

...note the Stormtrooper on the far right with a German logo. ;) However, this concept seems to never have been realized....well, until now, that is. ;) I've designed a new front and reverse side (full German text) for the first 12... I'm currently trying out materials because I'm using satin photo paper (instead of glossy) for the first time..."

Once again this is so great. I can't wait to see what he gives us as the final entry on this one. So awesome to see vintage like this.

Anovos Storm Trooper Kits are back...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, June 28 2016
"ATTENTION: The kit is recommended for greater customization options during fitting, but a pre-assembled ensemble will also be available. Please note that build times and difficulty levels vary between users, and as such there isn't a definitive "baseline." New builders to full-size armor kits will likely require more time and expense than those who have previous experience in building similar armor kits.

Stormtroopers are elite shock troops fanatically loyal to the Empire and impossible to sway from the Imperial cause. They wear imposing white armor, which offers a wide range of survival equipment and temperature controls to allow the soldiers to survive in almost any environment. ANOVOS is proud to offer the STAR WARS™ Imperial Stormtrooper costume available as a do-it-yourself kit, with optional soft goods suite (neck seal, undersuit, and gloves). Shipping estimated to begin January 2017. Pre-order items are subject to change in availability and features.

Do-It-Yourself Kit (Without Soft Goods)

This kit includes details duplicated using 3D scans and reference taken from the original asymmetrical hand sculpted assets combined with idealized elements.

Stormtrooper armor is designed to fit a person that is between (but not limited to) 5 ft. 8 in. to 6 ft. (1.7m to 1.8m) in height, with a mesomorphic body type (see chart below).

Armor pieces require trimming, clean-up and physical assembly.

Basic snaps, strapping, and hook and loop suite is included for mounting of armor pieces.

Helmet and components are made from vacuum formed UV protected ABS plastic.

The visor lens is made of green tinted plastic and is adjustable.

Helmet size adjustment system ensures a comfortable and secure fit.

Equipment belt with blaster rifle holster is assembled and ready to wear.

Footwear and blaster not included.
Tools, paint, and glue not included.

Optional Soft Goods

Soft goods add-on option includes neck seal, undersuit, and gloves in sized sets of Medium through 2XL.

Neck seal features ribbing and bib.
Undersuit is two-piece with mock turtleneck collar and stirrups.
Gloves are black rubber similar to the original screen-used items.

Pricing

$450.00 USD for do-it-yourself kit.
$650.00 USD for do-it-yourself kit with soft goods.
This item is eligible for Payment Plan options."

Stronox is back with a new Sith...

"Been trying to upgrade my pictures lately. Since I am working in multiple scales, I thought it would be nice to be clear right on the pics. Anyways, I have been doing some other genres as well but here is my latest Star Wars fig...Darth Nihilus with Joe style hip articulation, fabric tunic, new saber, and wire seamed fabric cape. I had to do paint touch ups as well on this fig to get it right too."

"Just had a very busy weekend, apologizes for the lateness off this post. Before the weekend started, I managed to finish the trap door off, stick it in place and scrape off the remaining excess sand from this dio. Later this week and over next weekend, I will be making the skeletal remains which will litter the floor of this dio, giving this scene the final finishing touches.

In the mean time, here are some shots of how it is now, recreating some of the shots from the film."

Jedi Minstrel is back with a new update!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 26 2016
"Hin Nisan was already training in Graqirin martial arts when it was discoverd as Force sensitive 3475 years before the battle of Yavin. His initial training was just shifting gears to adhere to the Jedi tenets. Nisan was always on guard. Not because of issues with the Jedi but he kept having simple flashes of memories that he swore, never happened. Although Graqirin martial arts taught him how to focus at an early age, He could not shake this feeling that imminent danger was always there."

I always enjoy JM's back stories and customs. I could sure ready a novel about this one! I wonder if he ever finds out what that danger is.

"I've finished another addition to my Legends figures from the Thrawn trilogy...a sympathetic Bothan politician we've all come to love.......not. ;)

The figure is from the Legacy comic pack, I've touched him up in a few places, especially the head and the shoulder pads, to match his appearance better to the card picture.

Apart from that I'm currently working on something new that's related to Germany and vintage figures, but I'm not done yet and having lots of problems with the material at the moment (I'm beginning to hate satin photo paper ;) )...so here are just two small preview pics:"

Wow, how cool does a Bothan look on a vintage style cardback!

Mandalore 25 is back with an EU Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 24 2016
"Been a while, but I'm back, and with my 194th figure! Planning some bigger things leading up to #200, and feel free to check out nearly all of them at the Dartharmoresscustoms facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/DarthArmoressCustoms

For #194 I made Alema Rar from the New Jedi Order, and later book series, specifically this version is Alema as a Dark Jedi. Very playable figure as the base figure is black, used Black Widow, with plain hands, and a retooled Aayla Secura head. Alema doesn't have straps around her lekku, and they are longer, so I rectified this, along with a completely new paint job on the head, I just felt the need to make her eyes blue to be proper.

If anyone is interested, she's listed here."

I like the look of her. Tough and gorgeous!

"Continuing my TFA kick, here's another "What If" addition to the Resistance!

The Heavy Gunner provides fire support to Resistance squads and light vehicle divisions. Armed with a specially modified DLT-19 heavy repeating blaster rifle and power pack, the Gunner doesn't have to worry about reloading... just overheating. The irony of being cut down by old Imperial weaponry is not lost on First Order Stormtroopers, making the Gunner a prime target for snipers."

I am seriously liking this trooper too!

Sorry for the lack of WIP pics but I have been busy getting things done as I am getting medically discharged and there is a crap load of paperwork to do and by the end of the day I'm mentally drained.

So saying that here are a few pics of the interior, I have done the floor, walls, frame work and gun/equipment rack.

Ron"

Wow, that looks good!

Panther updates us on his Rancor Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 22 2016
"Hi all

With the paint dry, its time to add some texture to ground. Before doing this, I needed to carry out a little more research and on Sunday (Father's Day, which I've made a tradition to watch a Star Wars film that day!) deliberately watched Return Of Jedi.

I noticed that the floor is covered with sand and the rock walls also have a lot of sand build up over them.

I am now waiting on delivery for some silver sand but in the mean time I used the rock ballast, mixed with paint and PVA glue, coated the floor with it. This will give the sand to something to grip against. I also added some onto the walls, for the authentic look from the film. Excuse the blue tack on the floor, I've put that there to mark where the Rancor's feet are going, then as a barrier to keep it clear.

Now I am hoping that the colour isn't as bad as what I think because I was mixing up a light brown (which being red/green colour blind is trickery than you think!) solution mixed with the ballast before I cover it with silver sand.

I hope you like it.

Richard"

Well I sure like it!

"OK as promised we have part one of my carded update How i wish like many of you that Hasbro would bring tvc back . A huge thanks to DS customs for make these for me ! So on this batch of 5 random customs i wanted to try a free figure giveaway with a really obscure character which was Cain Adiss i also have enclosed the back of the card and for pure nostalgia using the original proof of purchase as well as the card for Cain Adiss as well i just need to find a plastic bubble big enough to hold cain, since he is a huge figure . In addition there's a few more as well . I will be back in a day or two with batch two."

I really love the look of these. Way to go Mr. Jedi 1977!

Blizzard Force is back with modern Vintage Figures...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 22 2016
"I've finished three more Vintage Collection cards...this time from Return Of The Jedi...

The first two are recards of "missing" TVC figures for which I updated the quality of the cards...Bib Fortuna and Imperial Gunner. The Imperial Gunner is a composite pic with a new background, but I think the end result came out pretty nicely...

The third one is a new cardback...one of my favorite pictures from ROTJ...would have been so cool if Kenner/Hasbro had used it in the past...

I didn't customize the figures for these three, they're straight repacks (the Luke is the Saber Construction TVC version).

These are great!

"THE CLONE WARS "R5-S9" created by Elias

R5-S9 was an R5-series astromech droid that worked for the Galactic Senate during the Clone Wars. During the Senate hostage crisis in 22 BBY, R5-S9 was working at the Republic Executive Building in the power control room when Cad Bane's posse entered the room. It was destroyed by one of Bane's IG-86 sentinel droids.

To create the figure, I used the lower half of the The Clone Wars R7-D4 and the head of a Build A Droid R5-D4."

Looks good to me.

Panther gives us a new Rancor Dio Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 17 2016
"Not much of an update but I've managed to start work on the floor. I've created a couple of mounds to slide the Rancor's feet to, giving him a little grip.

Covered them with PVA glue and covered them in small stones.

I took a knife to the top layer of foam by the cave and sliced a ramp. Sanded it and now just going to leave the mounds to dry before putting the first coat of paint on the floor.

Luke tried out the cave for size.."

This is gonna be so awesome when done.

During a routine diagnostic check on a planetoid, they were attacked by a giant space slug. One of the other Jedi was eaten immediately."

Banethos Al'Tri - a Caamasi. As a young child, his Force sensitivity was recognized and he began training at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. As a result when the Clone Wars began, he was sent on diplomatic missions to Separatist leaning planets and organizations."

Starchaser is back with a Female Rebel...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 16 2016
"Females are certainly under-represented in the figure lines, so when I was assembling the Rex/Nick figure (based on darthdaddy's recipe and inspiration) and came across a reference image for a named female Rebel commando, I thought, "That's a custom I haven't seen and could probably pull off." So I made an attempt:

Dansra Beezer"

Makes perfect sense to me. I sorely wish they would understand gals like action figures just as much, and in some cases, more so than the boys!

Grrrighrr B'rrrhhn was a Jedi of the New Order before Luke Skywalker's self imposed exile (reference to SW timeline prior to Disney purchase and instituting "Legends"). Groggy to his friends, he was a Neimoidian that found his way to the Jedi Order by way of a bad business deal. When he was a child, Groggy was forcibly sold by his parents when their business went under."

"Official images of the 1/12 Clone Trooper. However the details are not out on Bandai's website yet. I'm no Clone Trooper expert, but it looks like you can build two variations, phase 1 or 2. With 2 weapons variants. Looks cool. I'll get a couple. In my biased opinion it looks better than the Hasbro, and it costs much less than SH.FIGUARTS Clone trooper. of course these are promotional images, but based on the Stormtrooper kits Ive bought it looks true to form. Release date is June 30th."

Thanks JDeck for keeping us informed. I agree with you it looks pretty good!

Gold Leader One customizes up an AF TFA Falcon...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 15 2016
"I did some more work on my custom TFA Millennium Falcon tonight. With testing my weathering skills on the Falcon/Jakku Micro Machines playset, I wanted to give it a go on the Action Fleet version. I used the Galoob Falcon, as I thought the Saga 2002 Falcon from Hasbro was too dark. This way I can weather it until I feel its the right amount.

I weathered it and dry brushed the ship with some black paint. I went darker at the back of the ship on top, towards the engine. In TFA there's a few shots on Jakku where the same area is quite dark. I weathered the rest of the ship just enough so it's noticeable, with the front and underside a bit darker then the rest of the ship. I also added in blast effects towards the front of the ship and near the new sensor dish. I dry bushed those areas with black and made the area bigger, and also added in some silver for the blast effects. Lastly I painted in 3 small circles, on both sides of the top laser cannon dark gray, just to give it a bit more detail."

I so missing Action Fleet. Nice work Dave!

Ron Hembling starts a new project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 15 2016
"Hi All,

Started a new dio last night and finally got around to taking some WIP pics.

This dio will depict a Imperial troop combat shuttle hovering about the ground so that the troops can repel out to the battle below.

The base so far is just an old shelf section. I used foam board to start the frame work of the mountain, I have used a piece of PVC piping and lock tight to keep it in it's place and the partial shuttle is made from foam board so far.

Ron"

Wow, that is gonna be one huge dio!

ROTJ - Han Solo (in Carbonite)

The Carbonite block is the current version from the Black Series, which I fully repainted. It was a fun little project and I think the block looks a lot less like plastic now (original on left, repaint on right)...

...and the finished version on a new custom cardback."

Folks to say I am enjoying his work is an understatement!

Ron Hembling getting closer to finishing his latest project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, June 11 2016
"Hi All,

Last update for the night.

I have weathered the figure using paints and pastel chalks by using silver, sand brown, light sand, gun metal and matt black and I used medium brown and light brown pastels.

As you can see I have started the base and I have used to real stones from the construction site next door and I mixed plaster sand and small rocks and spread it over the base. I have started painting it by using flat brown and I have just started weathering it by giving it two washes of orange and light brown.

Ron"

I didn't see how he was gonna top his last project, I may have been premature!

DaBooma is back with a new Marauder Makeover!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, June 11 2016
"Greetings gents!

Here's yet another Star Wars character.. yup.. in Marauder Armor. I haven't been able to find the Walmart Black Series Phasma yet, so I decided to make my own. And I'm more satisfied with this version as opposed to Hasbro's

Body, pouches, shoulder armor, and alternative head are all Marauder INC.Helmet, belt, cape and blaster are from the 5POA Phasma Chest armor is from the Armor Up (WarMachine) Finn

I painted the Marauder Task Force figure's armor plates silver, as well as the Armor Up Finn's. I cut the neck peg off of the 5POA Phasma, cut the host figure body's too. I actually added a little piece of plastic I saw laying around to elevate the peg a bit higher, to give Phasma more height.

I also cut off one the extra pouches I ordered from Marauder INC and glued the peg on to the blaster, so it can peg in to Phasma's thigh.

I loved that we never saw Phasma's face in Force Awakens. Which got me thinking.. how cool would it be that Phasma is the name of the armor, and not the person wearing it? If someone dies wearing it, another dons it. And Phasma lives on.. living up to the namesake... which is a ghost/phantom/apparition. Phasma could be male or female. Alien or human.

Anyway, comments are always welcome!"

Folks, I love his take on her/him. The Character looks so much tougher!

-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 10 2016
"Hi All,

I'm 80% done on doing the trooper all I need to know is add greeblies to the chest and then paint him up.

The pack back/engine section has had pieces added to it using Bandai 1/12 and 1/72 parts and Ma.k 1/20 piece. The vent section was done using fly screen and plasti card and the camera on the helmet is also Bandai 1/12 parts.

The cords are from some old ear phones and the connectors are from the Bandai Sandtrooper harness section. The black edges are welding seams which where done by hitting up a small screw driver and lightly pressing it into the plastic.

Ron"

Stronox shows us a 6" Starkiller...

"This one was a lot of work to get right. So many mods and sculpting done so that he is super articulated and I ended up testing him over and over and over again for paint rubbing until I finally got it right..."

Daggone that looks good. He looks tough enough to just disintegrate your body with a thought! Awesome work Stronox!

Add him to your custom collection, he could sure be the ultimate centerpiece for it.

Blizzard Force is back with a modern Vintage Figure...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 8 2016
"Some more love for my favorite movie of the trilogy - ESB - today. :) I've finished two more custom Vintage Collection figures...the first one is an update (Rebel Commander) and the second one "new" (Admiral Piett).

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK - JEROEN WEBB (REBEL COMMANDER)

Hoth Rebel Soldier (Legacy) body, arms and head from TVC Rebel Soldier (Echo Base Battle Gear). Some touchups on head/scarf. For the cardback, I wanted to use his correct name (with his vintage designation in brackets) and the same pic Kenner used...but with better quality. ;) It's a screencap from ESB that I've modified a bit.

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK - ADMIRAL PIETT

Actually this is the first custom I ever attempted (about two years ago), this was my start into the customising hobby... ;D SAGA Admiral Ozzel body with POTF Admiral Piett head. I gave his head a new paintjob, though...wasn't really satisfied with the one from two years ago. I would have loved him as a TVC figure...he's one of the only recurring Imperial officers, after all. The pic is another screencap from ESB."

More on that Hoth Rebel Commander tomorrow, but I had to use Piett. Such a cool project Blizzard Force has going!

Drakos is back with some new work...

"I finally got around to finishing the Custom 3.75" A'sharad Hett that I've been procrastinating over for the past year!

Still having a few issues with the paint scraping off a bit, not sure if it's the type of paint or if it needs to set longer. Otherwise though, he's done!"

Ah, the good feeling that comes from finishing a product!

Ron Hembling shows progress on his latest project...

"Hi All,

Only did a little bit tonight and as you can see I have started on the suit power source. The back section was done by using plasti card, I still have more sanding and then adding the greeblies.

Ron"

I can't wait to see this when its done. Still not seeing how he can top his last one, but I have been wrong before!

BDC41866 gives us more!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 8 2016
"For those of you that play SWTOR (or Star Wars Knights of The Fallen Empire), you might like this guy. My version of a Bala D'ur bounty hunter. The Bala D'ur are a Gen Dai faction (same race as Durge) of the White Maw pirates on the planet Hoth. Fairly easy head swap. This is a Husk body with a Chitauri head, and some fodder weapons...more to come."

He looks perfect in our SW Verse if you ask me!

Bronxstalker is back with a custom 6" Armored Obi-Wan!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 8 2016
"I have a few updates to post, just need to get around to taking pictures. Here's a completed 6" Obi Wan in clone armor I put together using a black series clone and a custom sculpted beard/hair. I also dremeled down the clone's upper legs and torso/chest piece so that I could use fabric for his under suit. I also weathered him up to look like he's tired from fighting."

He looks great to me. Love the 6" Custom Work. Matter of fact here is a link you can own him with:

"Hi All,

This is the be my other entry for the Custom Star Wars Builders comp that is happening over on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/1718385445101505/. This is still a WIP and I will show pics as I go.

The base figure is the Bandai Sandtrooper and I have used parts from and old Ma.k Snake Eye kit I built years ago but got damaged.

I also didn't clip the bicep and calf armour all the way in and left a small gap the make them look slightly bigger, I used plasti card to fill in the gaps.

Ron"

Well I don't know how he is gonna top that last entry, but you know this is gonna be good.

JDeck reviews the Bandai A-Wing...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, June 6 2016
"Alright. I finished building the 1/72 Bandai A-wing. I love this kit, having built several of the AMT-MPC A-wing kits, this puts them to complete shame. The parts seemed to fit very smoothly, even more so than the other Bandai kits. They're making the directions in English now, I've been so used to going by the pictures I didn't notice the English text at first. the details are just incredible."

That is just part of the review folks. Click in and see his overall recommendation.

Mr. Jedi 1977 is back with another mega-update!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, June 6 2016
"Hello again all ! Time for the next update in the ever growing collection. I have been looking for more really minor back round characters and i have a couple in this update as well as some upgrades . So jumping into this one i have given the other klattu sail barge guard that was released as a three pack way back from the power of the force collection all with full articulation . I have also upgraded General Dodonna fully articulated and Captian Antillies as well . Herchek Kal Fas was upgraded and with the correct color pants . Finally the two minor characters . First the pictures were already on wikipedia and thanks to the decipher game we have (weird ) names first Lieutanant Lepria (gold 4 ) and his y-wing droid R5-F7 which were made and offered with the Y-win from the 30th Anniversary collection and the the other is Red 7 Elyhek ryu . Enjoy."

I know I am sure enjoying them!

BDC41866 shares his Challenge Entry...

I used an engineers head with the helmet covering from a ROTS clone trooper, Vintage Collection snowtrooper body, and a harness from a Destro figure. The gun is from an Iron Grenadier, while the base and power converter are from the fodder bin."

Guns Empty is back with a Boba Fett Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 5 2016
"Here is a Work in Progress.

Boba Fett. Western theme, so I switched his rifle to Cad Bane's Winchester. I patched the dents in helmet and cod piece with putty in order to more accurately paint an earlier Boba, with less battle-worn armor. Groundwork needs more more work.

I was taking a break from Star Wars Battlefront PC."

So works for me!

Ron Hembling finishes his Contest Custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 5 2016
"Hi All,

The first 1/12 contest figure is completed.

The base as mentioned is high density foam and the rock sections were covered using plaster of paris. I used fine sand for the ground and fish tank plants, I painted and weathered the base using Vallejo paints.

Ron"

Uh, wow! Don't ya think he oughta win?

JDeck builds his Bandai Death Star Turret...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 5 2016
"I put the DS turret together. It's cast in grey plastic with just a hand full of parts. I really don't know what scale it is. I know its not 1/72. None the less its really cool. The details are crisp, and accurate. The guns elevate 90°, the turret traverses 360°. I'll find something cool to do with this turret. It definitely needs paint, black canons white tower, with weathering. With some plastic surgery you could make the tower shorter. Even though its out of scale, it still looks great along with the 1/72 fighters. Of course its pretty neat just by itself."

I totally agree, its great to see this offering! And another awesome review by JDeck!

I am pleased with how T7 has turned out because I have built him from scratch and only used a pair of astromech legs. If I was to do him again, I know what I would differently but I think he looks great, especially along side his master and his team.

HK-51 has been a simply repaint but still is awesome.

I hope you like them too.

Gold Leader One fixes up the new Han...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 5 2016
"I dry brushed yet another Han Solo figure tonight, this time on the new Black Series Starkiller Base figure. Same technique as with the past 2 Han figures, I dry brushed with a dark gray, then again with a lighter gray.

Even though it is an annoyance that we have to make corrections to our figures to be accurate, when its little things like this I don't mind."

I agree with him and man what a difference!

Blizzard Force is back with a modern Vintage Figure...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 5 2016
"It's currently fun to alternate between "missing" Kenner figures (in the Vintage Collection) and figures that were never published in the vintage line ('77 - '85) at all. I think I'm gonna keep that up for a while... :) So, next up:

Return Of The Jedi - A-Wing Pilot

Base figure is a TVC Mon Calamari Pilot (the only pilot figure with the correct flight dress / gear). Neck repainted, new head (TVC AT-AT Commander), new gloves (from another pilot), new helmet (A-Wing Pilot, partially repainted), modern "Endor Gun".

And here he is on the finished cardback. I added the Star Destroyers in the background to make the scene a bit more interesting..."

He is so doing what I wish Hasbro had done when they revived the line!

Panther is back with an update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 3 2016
"With T7-01 I am now in the process of applying a dark grey coating to him, leaving certain silver area's exposed. I have noticed the silver base coat is giving the grey a metallic shine to it.

While his head was drying, I started to apply a first coat of paint to Kira, using (and I think because I'm colour blind (please someone tell me!)) a light brown on her armour pieces & gloves, light grey boots and her red for her hair. I'm not sure whether the brown really works on her legs or would either a grey or gold would be better? Being colour blind really sucks at times like these!

Then finally!

No SWTOR group would be complete without its very own HK droid. I managed to get my hands on a cheap Build a Droid HK-50 and since I have recently acquired my own in the game, this one had to be done!

I have completely repainted him with a base coat of silver and dremmeled an alcove into his chest for his "arc reactor"."

They both look good to me!

"Hi All,

This figure is for a comp that is happening over at CUSTOM STAR WARS BUILDERS and in a nut shell you have to convert a Bandai Sandtrooper or Stormtrooper anyway you want and paint it up as long as it's not white. You also have to build a diorama for it as well, I have attached a link to the FB page and anyone can join and you don't even have to enter if you don't want to you can just see what people are doing with the Troopers.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1718385445101505/permalink/1719056208367762/?comment_id=1719062888367094&reply_comment_id=1719063065033743¬if_t=group_comment¬if_id=1464868696185048

Anyway here is one of my entries as I'll have two in the comp.

Most of you have more then likely guessed what mine in based upon the only major difference is I added air hoses. I got the same 1/72 and 1/48 airplane and chopper kits that I did for the 3.75 one I did and added a different back section which a Boba Fett jet pack.

I have also parts from the Bandai Sandtrooper and the Bandai R2/R4 kit and also used plasti card.

JDeck is back with a new Bandai Model Kit Review...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 3 2016
"I got my Bandai 1/144 X-wings today. I opened the mailbox and one side of the box was crushed, I was worried. However after opening, the individual boxes were undamaged. So hats off to Hobby_Japan.

The pieces are very nicely detailed. Much like the 1/72 version but half the size and fewer parts. It has the sticker decals, no waterslide. The markings are for Luke's Red5, I would love for a manufacturer to make decals for x-wings other than Red5, but that's a Pipedream. It only has the R2 unit head, no R5 like the 1/72 version, no BFD, at this scale it doesn't matter a whole lot. The cockpit canopy is solid one piece, not hollow. No landing gear, but the wings can be moved to attack position, or cruising. Again directions are on the underside of the lid, in English. So cool kit, especially for less than $6.00 So I'll build one of these bad boys up and see how it looks. Stay tuned."

Looks good to me. These Bandai Models are off the charts great!

"Here's a figure that I've had completed for a while, but as it's a pretty simple one, I decided I needed a cool gun to accompany her. Here's my female Falleen Smuggler.

Recipe:
head- TVC Barriss Offee (dremmeled)
braid- random Skylanders figure, painted.
body- Cato Parasitti

The gun was assembled using parts from several different G.I. Joe and Star Wars weapons that have been chopped up, glued together, sanded, and weathered."

Looks good to me!

Darth Daddy is back with an update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 3 2016
"Here at home we are hoping to work some more on filling out Jabba's Palace with some of the unproduced characters from the action figure line. Our latest addition is Jess.

In 4 ABY, Jess was a Human female musician present in Jabba's Palace, hoping to eventually leave the establishment by joining a band. Jess was often seen in the company of Bib Fortuna stroking his lekku. He reciprocated the gesture, often leading her around the throne room by hand. She was in Bib's company when the dancing girl Oola was fed to the rancor. Later, she was left to slumber alone on Jabba's dais, as Bib Fortuna lay in wait with his master, ready to spring the trap as Leia Organa, disguised as Boushh, released Han Solo from carbonite.

To create the action figure, I used the lower legs of an Indiana Jones Marion Ravenwood action figure, the upper torso and arms of a Vintage Slave Leia, and an original headsculpt that I created."

Looks spot on from what I remember that character to look like.

New Premium Format Darth Maul up for pre-order!

"“At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge.”

Darth Maul may be one of the greatest villains to emerge from the Star Wars universe. A figure cloaked in shadow, he broadcasts his intentions through his terrifying tattooed visage, leaving little to the imagination. It is no wonder that Sidious chose Maul as his apprentice.

Our Darth Maul Premium Format™ Figure captures the highly detailed likeness of Ray Park as the feared Sith. From a tattooed face beneath a crown of thorns, his gleaming yellow eyes pierce onlookers, while his stance - double-bladed lightsaber clenched in hand - is one of absolute power and control. Wrapped in a fabric costume, the piece begins to exude the grace and intensity of this imposing character.

The Sideshow exclusive addition to the Darth Maul Premium Format™ Figure is a swap out hand featuring a severed version of his trademark lightsaber."

Blizzard Force creates a great Mara Jade and Card!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 2 2016
"Star Wars - LEGENDS - Mara Jade

My next Vintage Collection addition, had a lot of fun designing the card and customising the figure, since I'm a big fan of the Thrawn trilogy... :)

I used a Black Series Mara Jade figure with a new head from a Marvel Black Widow (repainted). The cloak is from a SAGA Lando Calrissian (Death Star Attack) and was shortened slightly. No idea why her mouth looks a bit weird on the closeup pic...somehow her upper lip vanishes in the darker colour below it seems, making her look as of her mouth was wide open. Doesn't look that weird in real life, fortunately... ;)

Here's the finished figure on the custom cardback I did for her."

Wow, what a perfect figure! I really like this one a good bit!

Yesterday, I found the Marvel Universe Beta Ray Bill wave at Five Below for of course $5 each. I grabbed a few fodder pieces including a pair of Valkyrie figures. I love the SheHulk sculpt, it shares the same design flaw as the X-23 sculpt. The ball peg hips lack a good range of motion.

That's a bit limited.

I'm always looking to improve posing, so here's my quick fix."

You are gonna really like the results (See above). Thanks for the tip Sjefke!

We welcome Closet Jedi to the customizing boards!

"Hello guys. This is my first time posting up here and I just wanted to say what’s up and to tell you a little about my self. I got into 3d modeling a few years ago and I have been able to design quite a lot since I started. My passion has always been Star Wars since I saw the first movie in the theatre. I mean Episode IV when it first came out about 100 years ago! I was a pretty small and did not really have any of the toys until years later when I swapped some gijoes for some star wars figures in the school playground.

I always wanted a Tantive IV play set that I could call my own. I should probably have just gotten the pieces from hole in the wall (which look great) but I really wanted to build something myself. There is nothing like being able to say “I Built That”. Be warned 3d printing is still very costly! Consumer level printers can be really cheap or really expensive. I have seen some amazing stuff printed on a diy reprap printer ($300) and I have seen some really bad stuff printed on a $3000 makerbot.

That being said its not always the printer but the model used that affects the quality of the printed object as well as the speed, the settings, Slicing software, and even the weather.

I have owned 3d printers before and have enough experiencing with them to know that I wanted my pieces printed at a service that was going to give me the quality that I wanted. So enough on of the yapping. Here are some shots of the stuff I am working on."

Well first off welcome to the Yards and second, wow what great set pieces!

More 5 Below finds from Sjefke!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 2 2016
"I wasn't as excited about those tired old pilots as I was about the Beta Ray wave from the Marvel Universe line. There was a great assortment, all for five bucks. It was mostly Beta Ray that was hanging, but I grabbed a pair of Valkyrie figures. I love that She Hulk sculpt."

Time to head to 5 Below for some good fodder folks. And on articulated figures to boot!

JDeck finishes the Rebel Alliance AT-TE recovery. "Oola Belle"
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 1 2016
"I'm pretty much done with my Rebel AT-TE recovery. I've nicknamed it "Oola Belle" as a spoof on the "LuLu Belle" the name of the piece of junk M3 Grant tank in the 1943 film Sahara.

After the German grey base coat I painted her royal light grey, then painted a few areas like the cockpit Hull Red. I added the Rebel decals, I thought about adding more decals/colors but less is more sometimes. Then I weathered it using pastel chalks and oil paints."

Talk about one cool project. I can so see the RA using this beast!

"Been really busy lately preparing to move again, this time it will be for a while at least. Anyway, here's my Tahiri Veila from the New Jedi Order book series. Made her from a G I Joe Cover Girl, think the get up looks pretty darn close to the book art.

She's listed here if anyone is interested."

Looks good to me!
