Glad to hear we'll be seeing more amazing work from you, with such perfect details, any Hasbro Plagueis will have nothing on yours.

Ha! Thanks man. I could probably bad mouth Hasbro just as much as the next guy.
But they do a fair job at what they do.

Welcome back mate and look forward to seeing more WIP of Plagueis.
Nice to see you back around.

Thanks fellas, I haven't gone to far. I hop on a couple times a week and eye ball some stuff.
Ive just been pre occupied with some nonsense that i realized really isent worth the time ive spent on it.
So im gonna work on what really matters. ;)

So i think ive gathered enough guts & perspective on situation to tackle my ordeal of hand troubles.
I only say that because ive never done this before. :p
I know ive posted images of the hands i was working on at the beginning....Ive scraped that idea.
And im gonna go full scratch hands this time. All but excluding the actual hard plastic joint will me all me.
These are just the frame and general scales ill be starting with. And tomarrow ill Add the Castilene and begin the detailing of the hands.

Wow, that hand work is gonna be awesome.

I actually did something similar for hands when I used romex wire attached to wooden wrists and then placed a latex glove inside the wire fingers and used spray foam. I had to sculpt is up a bit once the foam set, but it works.

Off to share on the front page.

Wow Tamer that sounds really complicated!  I hadent thought about using latex or spray foam. Ill have to look in to those a bit.

As wire goes, Ive had a flashback to high school art class.
We had been given a length of flower arrangement wire.
to keep flowers grouped together and such. really durable, thin,
and has a pretty secure plastice coating on the wire.
It the wire i used on my hands the other day.

Nothing to special today. Got started a little later than i had hoped on my hands.
Had to too run errands.
But i got the frames Dipped and the vedict is still out...
there a little bigger than i would like, so im gonna have to work on this a bit.

I did find myself a Tie pilot today though!

It was a lot of trial and error for me too. Keep after it, this is gonna be one great custom figure.

Hey guys spent the last few days doing odd stuff with Plagious, mostly adjusting some issues here and there.
And started some casual sculpting on the legs and hands. Even did a little work on the head.
But nothing real ground breaking.
Except for the hands.... The issues is was having with the hands, was something that started to keep me up at night...
After some questioning of my theorized methods, i decided i'm just gonna go for it.
At first they seemed to big when i dipped them in the wax material,
but i thought they would look better when slimmed them down and gave them detail.

The results as such.... not bad!
The method i used to build the frame for the hands allowed me to end up
with a small length wire exposed below the would be ball joint,
which allows me to tie the hands to the wrists to gain a perceived scale.

I think they are a little on the big side still,
But given that most of the the rest of the figure isent complete.
My thoughts are that once were all finished everything will balance out and look to scale.
And seeing that i used some marvel legend fodder for Plagious's feet, that are superhero
proportions, ill just have to deal with it :p
I don't feel the images i managed to get give them justice.
I did take a few other photos of the hands and they are in the WIP photobucket link at the bottom.

What I like too is the range of movement you ought to be able to get out of them. Nice work. Off to share your latest update.

That's certainly something I'm working towards. I think as a force wielding (or manipulating you prefer) dynamic character, he is required to have a certain amount flexibility. Much like any other dynamic character we see in our favourite lines.

Thanks a lot Ron, I gotta say I have a lot of respect for your work. I still get frustrated when I'm trying to achieve a certain look to something when I'm sculpting, and totally miss the mark. But I'm still learning, studying every time I pick up tools.

Hey Shipyards, this last week was a real hands on study session i decided to put myself through,
as far as sculpting technique and skill are concerned.

Every day was a leg day! :p

I had to scrap my original idea of useing the material that was left from the base figure details
at the top of the legs, and just paint over it.
Only because i wouldent get the effect of the detailed space suite i was going for.

Like I have mentioned, I havent had any technique time so i was
really just giving myself a crash course on sculpting natural cloth details & such.
So if you notice some things look better than others, I either got lucky or just learning. :P
Still a few things i wanna do, But pretty happy over all.

Anyways, thanks again for your support. Hope you enjoy.
Lots of recent detailed photos and some progress shot in my photobucket.
