So, the other day I was watching Aliens (one of, if not my favorite movies) and realized I had no Xenomorphs the right scale to play with my Stormies. So I decided I would make one because I did not recall ever seeing a 1:18 scale xenomorph before. I jumped on google to find a reference image and came across Sith_fire's Alien sculpts. It was enough to make me decide not to embarrass myself. I normally do not get dissuaded when I see someones work who is better than mine, mainly bc most are, but the level of skill and accuracy of Sith_fire's sculpt was beyond anything I could ever hope to imagine. Especially considering I have absolutely no sculpting skill. I expressed this mind blown pass on an idea to LucasClones and he gave me a few words of wisdom. So, I spent the last 3 days making myself a xenomorph. He's still not done (missing a tail and claws, and paint) but I wanted to take a shot of him because I was actually kind of happy with what was made. Considering I dont sculpt (never sculpted before basically) and I ddint really use sculpting material I kind of like it.

Betting he wishes he didn't turn around. Slightly better look at the xenomorph I cobbled out rather scrubbily over the span of 3 days. I cant even call this sculpting because most of it was just laying pieces on top of each other and calling it a day. I am growing fond of him and think i may make more. But I don't think I can cast the head so I'll just have to make more manually. I think I may even just make more with the same material even though I have some Aves on order and a tub of MagicSculpt. Ha

Wow, thanks for the front page update, though it feels odd getting three front page updates on my first week here. Glad you like the figures. You may be sad to hear I have an AT-AT drive who is slated for the chopping block soon

Kinda late to the party here, but welcome to the Yards!  I'm really diggin' the work so far. I especially like the handmade Xenomorph. FYI, Kenner made some awesome Aliens WAY back in the 90s which are in scale nicely with 3.75" figs. I have a whole mess of them and the accompanying Predator line (which also fit in size wise). Keep up the good work!

We're those the bulky ones in the colorful packaging with kind of cartoon representation on them. I had one of two of those but I remember them being kind of ungainly. And I recall not liking the marines. Ha

Awesome work man! That Xeno looks really really cool. I doubt you're the only one here who is intimidated by Sithfire_30's work  ;)
I'm probably too old to be doing this, but I don't care. They're toys, they're meant to be played with!!

I work in darkness so that I can control the light.

Yo Jet! First off a belated welcome to the yards  - you won't find a better place on the net to get an audience that offers help, tips and suggestions with custom figures! Thanks for your comments about my work! I sill have much to learn...

Second - I get a thrill at taking on projects that, in my mind, have no idea where and how to start - I just jump right in and hope for the best. I think I learn and become better at what I do..even if the first attempt isn't what I'd pictured it would be. I get the same thrill when I see others do the same - not having much experience and taking on a Giger design is bold dude!...and a very awesome move! Your first attempt at an alien has been a success! I promise you the more you sculpt (and you will, it's like an addiction), you will learn just a bit more that your next version of the beast will blow this one away. Congrats on a cool figure Jet!
