I think what narc meant is if a mod could compile all the entries into one post so that we could side by side compare them.

I did the "Simon has a challenge for all of you" contest last year.

My wife funded it for my birthday, she basically seeded the contest with a  case of joes and one 50 dollar gift card to WM).  I had two first place prizes, it was cool.

The concept was pretty simple, I have a custom character in GIJOE(and any other verse) named Sanction, each guy just made a version of him.  It was an incredible thing to see all these varied styles come and do the same character.

Sanction is traditionally a cobra operative( and Duke's kid) so I expected special forces, but they were beyond awesome.

There was an operative(with classified file card), two geared out, camo'ed bad ass soldiers, a hellgate guy, a sci fi one, a prisoner, and a realistic one from france(ok, that one was a secret santa, but inspired by the contest).  Oh yeah, segnett did a death squad one.  It really made my year.

Also, hawkeye does have the sealies(a year end customs contest), but he's in afghanistan dodging al queda and the taliban, so its paused, :)

What a cool contest that one of yours was. I believe that I have decided what the prize will be for the next contest but haven't decided what to have you guys do to compete for it, yet.

I used to run customs contests at other places, many were built on a theme, 1 or 2 month deadlines depending on the theme, prizes always varied, some were gift certs from various sponsors, some were gift cards,
Contest rules were usually simple, 1 entry per person, all entries submitted to staff and a web page was created to host the images, anonymously, site members would vote for 1 week, 1 vote per member and most votes win, I tried to keep it that way so it was based on the custom and not popularly of its creator. We can do similar things in the future here.

It's always fun to see what people can come up with,
