I was reading through and saw this up and thought this was great advice too.  Another thing I like to do is use the xacto knife to clean up the edges of my paint.  I like the edges to be as clean an straight as I can get them.  I notice so many things when I photograph my figs with the Macro on that I cannot see with the naked eye.  When I see these things I go back and try to fix them.  It is one of the reasons I like taking pics close up!  Great work and keep it up!
