definitely the captain's chair.  Freaking awesome Idea.  I almost bought one of these a while back JUST BECAUSE of your awesome dio's with them.  I really want a gorilla soldier on horseback for my display case...

Hey Devin thanks for the input and the kinds words mate I really appreciate it and the more I think about it the more I have to agree the Captains chair might be the way to go. As for the Gorilla on horseback go for it mate you will do an execellent job of doing one on horseback..

If you're looking for iconic options,  may I suggest a transporter room diorama?

Simian Wars!
Also very cool.

Don't do the trash compactor scene!
Wet gorillas, chimps and orangutans in sewage?
That'll give the line, "Damn, dirty apes!"  a whole new meaning.

Hi All,

Well finally got around to finishing this guy and he was the inspiration from a new comic book that is coming out called Star Trek - Planet of the Apes - The Primate Directive.

The Ape - has the head and body from NECA's original serie's Gorilla soldier and the arms, hands and shirt from Artasylum's Star Trek series. The while figure was put into the pose similar to the comic cover except for the helmet as I only have one of those and that is for another project.

I then super glued the joints and puttied the joints and then used putty to add fur to the top of the hands, neck and the small patch on the right arm. Once the sculpting was done I used tissue paper to cover the uniform and painted him using Vallejo and GW paints.

The Chair - I found the chair at a garage sale but it was missing it's button panels so I made some using plasti card and then I painted the chair using Vallejo paints.

Just one fantastic combining of genres here. Love it. Off to share.

I could easily seeing you getting a hulk body or something like that and making another one of these too.

that is a cool idea..and very well executed. sorta reminds me of the last seen in Planet of the Apes (Wahlberg one) when he arrives back to earth and the Apes are in charge. I could see a Star Trek version with a transporter accident during beaming, when the away team comes back the crew of the Enterprise are all apes .  0//

Hi All,

I have an AT-AT driver I'm doing for Shawn and while I was covering the joints on the figure I decided to mix some extra putty and pose and superglue and cover the joints for a Battle of the Planet of the Apes figure dio (modern version) that I'm planning on doing.

The figures are Ceasar and Luca wave 2 Dawn figures and the weapons I have had in the parts box for years and I think they are from Marvels Punisher figure from Toy Biz.
