Ok guys today I give you the Crew I made for my Tatooine Tank over in the custom vehicle thread. The idea was to create the precursor to the Sand trooper, in clone gear. Most of these were given the SA treatment with the Tank Commander crotch and legs joined with the SA clone upper torso and arms.

First up is the Pilot and the Gunner...the gunner has the tubes that connect to a fresh air generator on the back of the seat. His turret is exposed to the elements as you will see in the last few pictures.

The Commander...

The Engineer...

2 grunts, these are the guys I invisioned as Clone Sandtroopers...

The whole team...

and the Tank they are assigned to...

the Idea here is that they are loading ammo or something into theTurret.

Thanks for having a look.

Love those Sand-Clones!  ("Bit of a change from Kamino, eh, boys?")  That's a very good, clean - and distinctive - look.

Love the extra detail on the sand clone "Grunts". They really look nice. Clones are the best!

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

I can't believe that I haven't seen these clones, yet. Of course, those tank clones are cool, but when I scrolled down to Gree and his buddies, I was like  'Oh no you di'in!'
Sheesh, dude. WOW!

Great looking Gree! As mentioned, he looks way better than Hasbro's attempt.

I like the sandy paint apps to those sandtroopers. What did you use for their soft goods kamas and sashes?
That Gree and his support troops just rock. Very well done. Seems like I may have seen that sniper before somewhere. Could it have been on the bay?

Thanks Clonecommander, Gree is one of my clones I am most proud of. He was made shortly after ROTS came out  and yes I love making squads. The Sniper was made when I saw the art of JubJub Jedi at RS. He drew up several awesome clones and I loved his sniper design so I had to make it. The idea was that his helmet interacted with the gun to help with long range targeting on individuals. Glad you noticed the working visor at the time that helmet was one of my biggest accomplishments.

R1B, thanks buddy. I thought it would be a good idea to start with older stuff as no one has seen it in a while...or ever. More will be up soon...

Clonehead glad you like these as you are the Clone Expert. The Sand Clones feature Kamma and protective wrappings to help keep the sand out. I made those from a used shammy. You know the cloth you wipe the car down with after washing it. It works great and it has that leather/rawhide look I thought worked on that squad. You have hit the nail on the head as far as the sniper. Funds for new plastic have been tight so I had to sell a few customs. I hated selling him as I put so much work into it and I don't do this to sell them. I figured I have fix it now and my painting has gotten better so I can remake him one day. I felt better when the buyer sent me a message saying he was serving in Iraq and absolutely loved the figure even better in person.
