Quick question.  I don't have any AT-AT/tie pilot helmets.  Can I modify another helmet and the figure be a concept version of an AT-AT gunner, or does it need to have a legit helmet?

Since I haven't done one of the challenges before, sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is the general theme of judging? Is accuracy to the source most important, or is general creativity encouraged as well? For example would a better, more interesting figure that took a shot at a version that hasn't been depicted lose out to a less detailed and interesting figure that stuck to the photos? (Say...a female Luke, or a Macquarie style flametrooper, in another contest)

Sorry again for being so nitpicky, I'm just torn a bit because the character is so specific, and I imagine 10 nearly identical figures based on the same 3 released AT-AT drivers with different colored helmets doesn't seem like what you'd be looking for.

The winners of this will be determined in a forum wide vote, but I would say as long as it is Imperial Looking it is wide open. The more variations the better! And sorry I didn't see this and get back to you yesterday!

That would be a question better asked to the folks who frequent this place as it will be them who will be voting for their favorite once I get that poll created when this is done.

From my previous experience with forum wide polls accuracy is not necessarily the most important factor. Creativity and Imagination seem to rule the day so to speak.

I have a few messages from folks who were wanting some idea of where they could find parts and resources to build their Heavy Gunner so I quickly scrounged up the following:

Resources for parts and supplies:

eBay TESB Snow Trooper Link

eBay AT-AT Driver Link

Amazon Snow Trooper Link

Amazon AT-AT Driver Link

If anyone else finds great deals, email or pm me and I can get em up here. Figured that might help some folks out as the Snow Trooper and the AT-AT Driver are probably gonna be the base figures most folks use.

Here's a WIP of my AT gunner. He's a Tropical  version, for planets/moons  such as Endor, Kashyyyk, etc. Just a real simple kitbash of figures and parts. I may make some modifications, paint APS and such. Been a while since I've done a figure, It was fun to build.

FINAL CONTEST ENTRY

OK I think I'm done with this guy. I decided to take a slightly different route with mine, and build a 14-point POA First Order AT-AT Forest Gunner. In the new first order, AT-AT door gunners have taken on the expanded role of commanding incursion troops once the heavy vehicles have cleared a path. Accompanied by his tactical and communications droid, BB-6C, the First Order Forest Gunner is a formidable opponent to the resistance.

Hope you guys like it, he came out pretty much exactly as I hoped he would!

Recipe:
Head, belt and upper torso: First Order Stormtrooper (black series)
Upper arms, legs, harness and lower torso: AT-AT Driver (TVC)
Lower arms, Lower legs: Imperial Evo Trooper (30th Anniv)
Chest box: First Order Tie Pilot
Helmet: parts of AT-TE gunner helmet and a Jek Porkins POTF2 helmet
Gun: random Gundam accessory.

Here is my entry for the IMPS AT-AT heavy door gunner contest. Pretty straightforward kitbash. I used an engineers head with the helmet covering from a ROTS clone trooper, Vintage Collection snowtrooper body, and a harness from a Destro figure. The gun is from an Iron Grenadier, while the base and power converter are from the fodder bin.
