ISY:Which Star Wars movie was your favorite, and Why?

BDW: Empire was my favorite. The production, story, and technology used made my favorite!

ISY: What is your fondest memory while making the Star Wars movies?

BDW: Working with Kirschner. He's a great man! I also enjoyed spending time in London, and the behind the scenes were fascinating!

ISY: Do you collect the characters you've played? What is your favorite piece?

BDW: I have a "Revenge of the Jedi" tshirt that I have kept, since it was officially changed to "Return of the Jedi." I also have a Blue Harvest cap that we wore. I also have an original Ewok mask that George gave me personally!

ISY: Do you get any Star Wars items as gifts from family and friends? What is the weirdest item you've ever received?

BDW: No, I really don't, and I've never really gotten anything "weird."

ISY: What is the most exciting project you've worked on to date?

BDW: Brian's Song, Lady Sings The Blues, Mahogany, and Bingo were some of my favorites.

ISY: What do you feel is your greatest achievement as an actor?

BDW: Martin Luther King on Broadway. Stage is the most exciting Experience!

ISY: Of the actors and actresses you have worked with, from whom have you learned the most?

BDW: Roscoe Lee Brown. Sylvester Stallone has a great knowledge of script and use of the camera. I've learned something from every actor I've worked with.

ISY: What project do you wish you could go back to and redo in order to improve your part in it?

BDW: I would have done more in Nighthawks.

ISY: If you could take on any role in any project, as an actor, who would you most like to portray?

BDW: I'd like to play Duke Ellington. I feel I'm the only person who could be a good Duke Ellington. No one else has the knack for sophistication that I posess. I think of myself as a sophisticate.

ISY: If you could be involved in remaking any classic movie, which would it be and why?

BDW: "Double Life" with Ronald Coleman and Shelly Winters. I've also spoken to Orson Wells about remaking "Lady from Shanghai."

ISY: Has the staying power of Star Wars surprised you?

BDW: Not anymore! I was a follower of George Lucas since THX 1138. It was an interesting time, and there were a lot of exciting new directors coming out.

ISY: Were you a Star Wars fan before being involved as an actor in it?

BDW: Yes!

Our many thanks go out to Billy Dee Williams for taking the time to answer our questions for us, and we wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors!
