JDeck weathers his new Revell Shuttle...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 29 2016
"I continued weathering the Shuttle today. I used several alternating washes of white and black along with dry brushing applied with cotton swabs, to get the streaking effect. I also used a little bit of pastel chalks. Now I just need to mount it all, and paint the wood base. That'll do it."

Looks like he is getting close to finishing this one off!

Panther applies the first coat of paint...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 29 2016
"The first coat of pint has been applied, it's been that long since I have used spray paints (also using it outside on a windy day was probably not the best idea I have had!!) so I now need to purchase another can of paint but that won't be until Saturday! >:(

Oh well, its near an Asda\Walmart and I might have to also have to buy Rogue One figures! Oh shucks!"

LOL! I can feel his pain can't you!

Custom Creator shows us his latest progress...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 29 2016
"Cheap update here, but finished the first color on the bottom level. Still haven't decided what to do up top. I wanted it to be like a business on the bottom floor (or small manufacturing facility) and a living space above. There isn't much room up top to "sell" that, but I am thinking I might just go with wallpaper and residential stuff....not sure yet. Anyway:

Bottom color is a custom mix. Sadly, I only painted the main wall one night, so I had to re-mix and match the color for the side wall. It was a tad brighter, but with the floor installed, it brings down the color to match the main wall, something I anticipated and am happy with. Still need to weather everything a bit, but now I can start adding my greeblies and bits."

His dioramas just look real folks!

The Closet Jedi shows us some of his prints....

Star Wars Transformation Disney Style!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 29 2016
"With Halloween fast-approaching, Disney Style set out to recreate some of the most recognizable looks from the Star Wars franchise by turning one girl into 4 characters in under 60 seconds.

One of the most dazzling elements of the Star Wars universe is the iconic costumery and fashion of its characters. Who can forget Darth Vader’s all-black outfit, or Princess Leia’s chic double hair buns that have perpetuated pop culture for more than three decades?

From Rey’s stylish yet functional sand-colored desert uniform and up-do, to a feminine take on a Stormtrooper donned in white armor, there is a look for every Star Wars fan."

Pretty cool if you ask me!

I-am-Boba-Fett is back with an update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 28 2016
"Posted above is a brand new youtube video featuring another custom RAKATA WARRIOR action figure made by me recently. That custom Rakata Warrior is in the 4"scale to fit in nicely with other Star Wars action figures. The video also features a music sample of a new song in the works by my band, Loud Lava. Hoping to have the song completed in the near future time permitting."

Well now this is all great, from the custom action figure to the video! Here is a link to his custom action figures thread where you can see individual pictures of this great new Rakata Warrior.

Mandalore 25 is back with a custom and an offer!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 28 2016
"Made Kreia from Knights of the Old Republic II for a customer, but if anyone would like one, feel free to contact me anytime. Anyway, the base for this one is a Barriss Offee, with a sculpt torso, and hairstyle on a slave Leia head (if anyone is looking to do this, you'll need to shorten the neck). Exchanged the dark softgoods for tan, and trimmed up the robe quite a bit. I know the robe still looks big, but fixing the shoulder length would be tedious, and leave a seam down the back, so I opted to leave well enough alone. Not too fond of the face, I forgot to age it until I took the pictures, and thought the lips and eyes turned out really well, so I didn't want to risk botching them."

I thought that was pretty nice of him to offer to make the Shipyarders one!

I am really enjoying Legion078's Mini-Dios...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 28 2016
"I already made 3 Hoth based dioramas on differently sized picture frames. They are not only great for displaying your favorite figures, but also to honor Hasbro's best figures of the modern series!

There are basically endless combinations of what and how much you display on these dios!

Some day I will build a huge diorama to display the battle of Hoth with the AT-AT, AT-ST and a nice trench for the rebels' defence...so these small dioramas are like a test/study before I go BIG!"

I like the sound of going bigger!

Darth Streams showing carded magic again...

Legion078 is back with an awesome how to on some mini-dios...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 27 2016
"Just wanted to share some pictures of my mini dioramas, I built on picture frames. I hope they give you some inspiration! Please, feel free to comment on, share and post pictures of similar projects of your own! Enjoy!

I haven't been active on here for 5 years!! That's a shame I know, BUT I haven't quit the hobby and I probabally won't. In the meantime I collected way too many ideas, created drafts and realized at least some of them. My last project in 2011 was my big Mos Eisley diorama, which still needs to be completed. I will post some updates on that topic later on.

Since I also build model kits and saw some other model builders on fairs here in Germany, I got the idea of making mini dioramas on picture frames. After the big Mos Eisley project I wanted to go little before starting the next big project. Therefore I built different dioramas on picture frames that are themed on some famous planets of the Star Wars Universe including Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and Kashyyyk. Enjoy!

Best regards from Germany and may the force be with you!"

It was great to see how he pulls this off. I love the look of em!

Gold Leader One creates his own Astro-Mech to go with his custom Rebel Pilot...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 27 2016
"I finally have my own personal astromech to go with my own pilot figure. I named him R2-S5, a mix of personal preference and based off my favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.

I also checked Wookiepedia, and that droid's designation isn't taken so I'm in the clear (for now)."

Looks good to me!

JDeck shares word on new Revell Star Wars Models...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 27 2016
"I found some pictures of the new Revell Rogue One kits. They look alright, cant really tell from promo pictures. Looks like U-wing, (1/100), Star Destroyer (1/4000) and AT-ATC (1/100). They are the build and play kits. They have lights and sounds.

They say the foot joints on the AT-ACT are posable, but whoever posed it for the promo shots didn't really know what they were doing.

Here's the link to the Revell website if you click on the product there's a video of the model."

I count on JDeck to keep me aware of all the model news!

Panther destroys Maz's Castle...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 26 2016
"Now you are all wondering what Phase 3 is! My intention was never to build Maz's watering hole in all of its glory, instead I wanted to build the scene after the First Order had destroyed the castle and you watch Kylo Ren walking through the collapsed structure then out of a doorway and onto the battlefield.

So with that in mind I set to work last night, destroying the wall. Normally cutting through foam board is relatively easy but when you have to go through three layers and give the impression that its a wall and not just some card is a little tricky. So I got out a hammer and chisel, using this to cut into and around the brick work, taking it down through the 3 layers. With the larger pieces, I cut down into the middle layer then started to pull/rip the pieces off. This left the chiseled top layer the way I wanted it to look but gave a great effect on the other two layers, I even decided to leave part of the wall hanging on. With the pieces that I had cut off, they are now turned into the rubble on the floor."

That is just the first part of the update. His wife even gives him a bit of advice with this session.

JDeck getting there on his latest dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 26 2016
"I buttoned everything up. I started adding some washes, Vader's Shuttle isnt as pristine as the Emperor's. I put the switch inside the cockpit, so I just flip it open to hit the switch. This is a mockup of the layout, I just need to figure out how big i want the base."

Adding those leds made this look awesome!

Larifari is back with an update...

"Just a little update. About 3 years ago I did this little spaceship. It has gone through many changes over the years. Finally I changed the cockpit, and I gave him a little color."

Its a great looking scratch built ship to me. It would work well in any sci-fi verse.

Panther is getting closer to being done too!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 23 2016
"Morning all

Last night I finally got a bit of time to carry on working on my diorama, phase 1 of this project is almost complete. I finished off building the steps to castle, making each step width 2cm on either side and 1cm depth from the previous one. then cutting two pieces of foam board for the foundation's, these pieces where measured from the bottom of the wall (or from the top of the top step) to the base of the bottom step. On the top of each piece I got my knife and sliced from down between the front piece of card and foam, this running the full length of of the board and a 1cm in depth. Then on the reverse of the board, across the top of each piece, I drew a line 1cm in depth and gently cut through the foam making sure that I did not go through the other side to the cut previous cut that I had done. This creating a lip on both my pieces of board. I then (using masking tape for now) stuck them to the bottom of the wall and behind the steps. As you can also see I have cut a rather large piece of board to act as the overall base of my structure.

I just need to cut a couple more pieces for around the base of the castle to make it secure before fixing the steps to the base and then proceeding with phase 2 - the painting of this structure.

I hope you like pictures!"

Well I know I sure do. This is gonna be great. I can't wait to see how he approaches all those banners!

His dios are so realistic looking. It is hard to tell that this is an artist's rendering and not the real thing!

JDeck is back with a review and a new dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 22 2016
"I got one of the Revell Imperial Shuttles. Its the new recasting and the plastic isn't as white and shiny. That kind of sucks a little, but the paint apps are a little nicer. Other than that its the same shuttle as the earlier 2010 model. You can display it in both landed and in flight. It has landing gear, but I was too lazy to put it together just to show you. A lot of folks assume its 1/72 scale because of the figures it comes with, but they are way too big. I did my research and it comes out to 1/144.

I also got a couple Hot Wheels TIE fighters. I think they're about the same scale, 1/144 or so. The hot wheels TIE isnt too bad it is die cast so not a ton of detail, but itll work as background pieces. Personally I think they are better than the Black Series Titanium fighters, plus theyre inexpensive and very easy to find.

So I think making it Darth Vader's Shuttle, with TIE fighter entourage, would be cool. I thought about making the Endor Landing platform, but would be too dang big. Actually Im not sure what im going to do with it. Meybe take it apart again and run LEDs through it."

I think he is spot on with the scale. I look forward to seeing him finish this off. He has since updated with the start of his led work!

Mandalore 25 is back with a four pack!

They both look great to me. Look for us to feature his other two sometime soon, but make sure you scroll around once in thread!

The hull section has had blast marks added from small and heavy weapons fire, I still have to detail the blast area's and then add more scorch detailing as well.

the weapons section is now done I have now added the helmets and the cliff has had a coat of matt black then a coat of brown sand and then the burnt sienna added to it and know to start doing the detailing to it.

"Here's the soft goods cloak that I made for the Red Witch. I used fabric glue, as sewing is not one of my skills. This actually opens in the front and is secured with seven 1 mm disc shaped rare earth magnets, which are secured in the fabric. It's a little tricky to put on, but it's very form fitting, yet still allows good range of motion. Unfortunately, I failed to take pics of the cloak open.

I also glued a flower wire into the bottom of the cloak which helps the fabric hold its form."

It sure looks great to me!

JDeck finishes up his Custom Probe Droid...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 21 2016
"I made a crude stand out of a wooden medallion, acrylic rod, and a tie fighter windshield that happened to be the right shape to hold the bottom of the droid. With a little TLC i can make the stand look a little better. For now it works. It keeps the droid from falling over, and it gives the illusion its hovering."

I really enjoyed this project. I would so love to see a new Probe Droid, either 6" or 3.75"!

"Here's a proof of concept for a more accurate comic book Leia that I may make in the future. She's kinda rough around the edges - her knees don't work, she has no waist articulation and there are some gaps in the seams. Still, if/when I make another I'll know what to look for. The plan is to learn how to use green stuff so I can do the hair etc..."

She looks spot on to me!

We get our invite for the Night Before Party!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 20 2016
You know what that means! Our intrepid reporter Dan "The Spectre" Kosa will be back with the Hasbro Brand Team getting in all of our questions to the team. Fresh off our Google Hangout, I really really was left with a smile on my face, not just at some of the answers we received, but also with how they approach fan sites and how much they appreciated our input. So lets give em more!

I am also happy to report that we will also be attending a special Q and A Session the following day (Thursday, October 6th) so Dan is really going on the prowl for us this time. If you see Dan, tell him thanks!

Gold Leader One is back with a new Rebel Pilot...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 20 2016
"Even though the EU (Legends) is no longer canon, I still like to make some customs from it. Here is my newest custom pilot, Gavin Darklighter. He is the cousin of Biggs Darklighter. I bought a custom of Gavin a few years ago off ebay, but it wasn't super articulated. Now that I found all the parts I needed for cheap, I wanted to make my own.

Just some minor tweaking and part swapping here really. I had to do some minor trimming to the neck post for the head to fit properly. I always thought Gavin had black hair. According to Wookiepedia, he is listed as having dark brown hair so I left it. I'm very happy with my head selection, I've had my eye on it for quite some time. The helmet fits perfectly. As you can see, I like to be accurate as possible - the helmet is the same and the flares are on the right leg."

The full recipe can be found at the above link.

Mr. Jedi 1977 shows us more Carded Vintage Customs...

"It's been a very productive month. While in between my next diorama I thought I would give another carded update for the continuing journey for an ultimate carded collection on vintage card backs! and now its another step closer .Thanks again to FoxTrot Delta for making it happen . Here's the next 11 carded figures . The next update will have even more really obscure back round characters. Enjoy."

I know I certainly did. What I wouldn't give to see Hasbro bring back vintage, if even just a little bit.

Steezy Collector shares an update...

"Finished up my Twi'lek smuggler.

Shaddi'lassan is a Twi'lek smuggler. She was picked up at a young age by pirates that stopped over in Ryloth just before the end of the clone wars. She was trained by them and worked as their 'bait' to lure in unsuspecting travellers to her aid, where the rest of the Pirates would mob them and hock their shit. When she was 22 Shaddi had saved up enough credits from her tiny cut of their raids to buy her own ship and left the pirate crew behind. She now spends her time smuggling goods back and forward for the Hutts making what money she can and running supplies into Ryloth trying to help her own people as much as she can."

She sure looks pretty tough to me!

Panther shows more progress on Maz's Castle...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 19 2016
"Today I managed to spend a lot of time on my dio. Using an old foam board which I had previously cut out for the door andusing my rotary tool, I carved out the vents into the door. Using clay moulding tools to create definition between the vents and the doors, sanded it down to remove all bevelled edges.

Taking another piece of foam board that I had also previously cut from one of the wall pieces, I started to cut out the decoration for around the door. After cutting out the parts needed, I used my rotary tool and rounded off the edges, highlighting the detail around the door. I then cut out a length of foam board to be used as the top step outside the of the door. AT the moment it is the only thing that is glued to the wall.

My next step is to acquire the paints before I carry on, adding the rest of the steps and taking the diorama the way I have in mind. Sorry but until I have painted it, I don't want to describe to much of what I think this will look like."

I sure liked his progress today. It is really coming along!

Got some work done on the shuttle and cliff today.

I finally got the repelling machine done painted and started weathering the shuttle. The cliff has had plaster cloth used to cover the newspaper and then I used more plaster cloth to give the cliff a more realistic look.

I let the plaster cloth dry for 24 hrs the used a mix of spakfilla 50/sand 40/beige brown 10 and then covered the plaster cloth.

Wow, this is gonna be another stellar performance from Ron!

In the off chance someone is interested, he's listed here."

Folks, I have been doing and putting together Hasbro Q and A's for years now. We are used to getting similar responses to what if. JDeck is working on a Probe Droid...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 17 2016
"Last night I started working on the probe droid. The more work I did, the more things i realized really needed to be changed. I started off by taking out the pop up gun, because it didnt allow the head to set right on the body. Then i covered over the missile stem hole and missile trigger, and made eyes with milliput. Then i replaced the antenna with brass wire and made the tops out of milliput. Its just a matter of sanding all the cast marks down and painting her up. I might add more eyes too, i like my probe droid to have lots of eyes looking in all directions."

That is just the start of his alterations. He has already updated his original post. Did you know the Probe Droid was in ROTJ? I didn't until JDeck gave me that fun factoid.

Today I roll with the Star Wars Hasbro Brand Team...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 16 2016
Look for my write up later this weekend with how the first ever Google Hangout with the Star Wars Hasbro Brand Team went. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what new information they share as well as hear the questions and answer session we have set up with the team.

Remember, this came down very quick so it is always a good idea to post your questions here; our general Hasbro question area so when something like this happens again or we are able to get an interview with the Hasbro Team at our closest con we will always be ready!

We would also be remiss if we didn't thank the kind folks at Hasbro for inviting us for their inaugural event! I, for one, am hoping this is a trend that continues. More communication is always a good thing and it shows that Hasbro really does listen to you, the Fan and Collector, in regards to their offerings.

Ron Hembling gets back to work on his Shuttle Dio...

"Hi All,

I'll be putting the three TFA FO troopers on hold for just over two weeks as I have a model expo coming up in two weeks and need to pull my finger out and get this dio completed.

For those that remember this is going to be a shuttle hovering and having sand troopers abseiling down to the ground on Jakku. The partial shuttle is almost ready for painting I just need to do some sanding and add a few more greeblies, Bob is showing the scale of the partial shuttle and I will get a few more pics up tonight of the whole dio and how it will look.

Ron"

I was wondering what was up with this one!

JDeck is fixing up a nice Shadow Squad...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 15 2016
"The Emperor had foreseen Vader killing him during a large battle. So the Emperor formed an elite group within the Crimson Guard known as the Blood Shadows. They were formed to destroy Vader's elite Stormtrooper corps in the event of a coup to overthrow the Empire. They were also the Emperor's enforcers, punishing villages who harbor rebel operatives. They not only murdered the inhabitants, but destroyed the entire village, without leaving a trace of who was responsible . They were kept secret from Vader and the Imperial Senate. If the Imperial Senate knew the atrocities the blood shadows commited, there would be a unanimous removal of Palpatine.

The inspiration for these guys was the Dark Troopers from Battlefront Renegade Squadron, I was pretty beast with those guys. I gave one a jump pack. Another is just a commander."

I am liking the looks of this squad!

Mashable reviews Hasbro New Toy App...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 15 2016
"You don't need to purchase the toys to use the free special effects app, but doing so does come with one advantage, which I'll get to in a second.

The pre-release version of the app I tested was still rough around the edges (it crashed several times, especially when processing effects). But when it worked, it was pretty fun."

That is part of the great interview with images from Mashable.

Had to share Blizzard Force's Rogue One cardbacks...

"And there's another project I started recently. ;)

"The world is coming undone. Imperial flags reign across the galaxy."

That trailer gets to me every time...and I really love the musical score they've done for the teasers/trailers so far... All in all, I'm really looking forward to RO, so I'm going to be doing a new line of Vintage collection cards for the new Rogue One figures. ;D

So far I've designed 12 of 15 of the figures I want to do for the first wave, here are the first proofs I've done of two cards as well as the new reverse side."

Folks I would be buying each and every figure, even 5 poa, if Hasbro would release em on vintage cards like this. Wow!

I managed to build the the other outer column and while it was drying I got to work sanding down the edges around the door and the walls base.

Maz did have to inspect my work lol!"

It is starting to take shape. Sounds like a bad storm, kinda wish we could get one where I live. It has been so dry!

Blizzard Force is back!

"Hi guys, I've been really busy in real life lately due to a future job change on my part (in December), so I didn't really have time for a lot the last weeks. Now, as I'm comfortably sitting in a train on the way home, how to better spend the time with a nice and big update... ;)

I was able to do some more additions to my Vintage Collection lineup, here they are:

VINTAGE COLLECTION

Seven more cards were finished after my last update, four updates of classic cards and seven "new" ones. This also means I now have finished more than half of my goal of updating the 52 missing Kenner figures...28 down, 24 to go... ;D

The updates are Warok, Teebo, Boushh and Artoo (pop-up lightsaber), though I've actually kind of done two cards for the latter - one version of Artoo uses the pic from the vintage POTF cardback, the other one the designation and figure..."

Good luck with the job change and wait till you see his Rogue One Vintage Cardbacks folks.

Ron Hembling shows how crucial paint work is to a figure...

New small dio, this time round it's Rey and BB-8. Rey is from Hasbro's BS 6" range and BB-8 is from Bandai, I have started painting BB-8 and just need to paint on some little details and weather him.

Rey has had the joints glued and putty and the cloth area's have had tissue attached to them using watered down PVA glue.

Sjefke shares a great new Red Custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 13 2016
"Here's a commission I made for Clone Crazy's The Will of the Force. She's the Red Witch, who was inspired by the character, The Silent Wife from the steampunk/Kung Fu movie, Tai Chi Zero.

The base figure was GI Joe, Retaliation, Jinx. I fabricated the belt, including the buckle from paper and stiffened it up by saturating it with crazy glue. The front of the skirt is made of nitrile and painted with Vallejo acrylic.

I used the head of a The Corps figure and hollowed it out to make the mask. I made a few modifications and painted in multiple layers. The weathering is actually distressing. They eyes holes actually go through the mask and you can see the figures eyes. It's creepy up close. Unfortunately, the scale is too small and my photography too weak."

I think it looks great! It was awesome to see an update.

Ron Hembling shares the outdoor pics for his latest project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 12 2016
"Hi All,

Rebel Base 1/144 scale.

The X-wing is from Bandai and it was built straight out of the box, I made the landing gear using pieces of plastic card and thin plastic rod.

The base is two Bandai stands glued together and then balsa wood was added to the sides. The cement is cardboard cut to size and then glued in place and then lines were added to make the seperations between the slaps.

The wall high density foam and I did the blocks using a pencil and the I used a sand stone rock and pushed it lightly into the foam to give it a more realistic look. The vines are from woodland Scenics fine leaf foliage and I just pulled pieces off and glued them in place.

The grey crates are 1/72 scale suit cases and the blue and yellow crates are pieces of plastic card glued together. The ladder was made from cutting thins pieces of plastic card and then glued together to make the ladder.

The tubes are just old head phones cords and the figures are Gundam 1/144 figures which I got from Hobby Link Japan.

Ron"

The level of details he gets in these small dios is amazing. I would know, I have a couple of em!

JDeck solves the yellowing issue...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 12 2016
"I bought a lot of stormtrooper figures the other day, however some of them were severely yellowed. Most de-yellowing techniques dont work great, so i just made them shadow stormtroopers. I simply spray painted them with Tamiya matte black, and added a few details. Ill customize them further, when i find a specific purpose for them. Actually I have a few ideas already.

Also I kitbashed a few SA stormtroopers with the sl11 heads. The SL11 heads look much better to me. Also I like using the POTF2 blasters, they are more accurate as far as size than the newer ones, but i do like the TBS E-11 blaster with the folding stock, those are pretty cool. The sl11s are becoming rare, so ill have to wait until the new R1 stormtrooper comes out to finish the rest. Bottom picture shows 5poa SL11 (left), TAC Stormtrooper (right), kitbash (center)."

I like the look of both of his versions.

I'm going to start doing little dio projects between my larger dio builds. I started this 1/144 X-wing ANH rebel base this afternoon and so far it's taking me about 1.5hrs to get to this stage.

The base is two Bandai bases glued together and then blasa wood was cut out and attached to the edges. I used cardboard for the floor and scribed lines into using a model knife, I used a piece of high density foam for the stone wall and scribed the stone into using a pencil.

The X-wing was built straight out of the box and I made landing legs using plastic card and thin plastic rod. I have a few more greeblies to add and will have it all done tonight.

Ron"

As of the time of this posting he already has it finished and promises his usual outdoor pics soon. Ron does not let the grass grow under his feet ever!

Ron Hembling finishes his Dewback Dio...

"Hi All,

Here are my usual outdoor pics. The sand/spakfilla mix was a little white so the last thing I did before the pics was give the sand a wash of Vallejo's Iraqui Sand.

Ron"

What can I say. I love Ron's projects, but this one really went up and over the top. We can only hope someone at Hasbro will see the genius behind providing a Dewback at this scale as Ron has just shown!

Gold Leader One creates a new custom Rebel Pilot...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 11 2016
"Here is a custom pilot from one of my favorite games. Kasan Moor from the original Rogue Squadron. Pretty cool to have another pilot from one of your favorite video games. I picked what I thought was the best action figure head that most resembled her. This character is under the old canon, now "Legends."

Parts used:

Head: Irina Spalko from Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Body: Dorovio Bold from The Legacy Collection
Helmet: Jon Vander from the Saga Collection

Trimmed the peg some and dry brushed her hair a bit darker. It's hard to tell what helmet she uses as that is the only photo of Kasan, so I gave her the most beat up extra helmet I had."

Thats a pretty good recipe if you ask me. I even remember the video game. I even have an old computer system I just set back up (with vga joystick) so I can play some of those old flight sims when I can find the time.

Custom Creator shows great progress on his latest diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 11 2016
"Wow, it's been a while since I've updated.

Believe it or not, I was having the biggest trouble finding the wood I needed to complete the flooring. Every time I went, they were out, or all the pieces were broken.

Anyway, 28 boards, and 95(yes, 95) pins later, and we have a "completed" damaged 2nd floor.

Had to snip each one...lol"

I can't imagine how tedious it was, but his images of how this came together and the effects it is giving his diorama make it look like magic!

Ron Hembling is back with two new 6" Dewback Updates...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 10 2016
"Hi All,

Ok nearly there, I only need to do the sand and then get outdoor pics.

The cliff was given washes of light sand, medium sands and brown sands and then two washes of desert sand. Once the last wash was done I used red brown pastel chalk and brushed it on in random areas.

Once the pastel chalk was added I then used a medium brush and gave the pastel chalk a going over of just plain water to spread it out and also to tone down the red brown.

The troopers were given weathering using light sand paint and pastel chalks so was the dewback, I gave the dewback the same water wash to tone the pastels down as well.

Ron"

And that was just one of two updates on this project since yesterday. Daggone that is rocking on so many levels (not much pun intended)!

I so appreciate how Ron walks us along his process and shows us the way. His tutorials are fantastic too!

"Princess Leia as Jabba's prisoner. This has photographed badly, it looks better in person...

Anway, I've always really liked the POTJ Leia with its real chain and 'real' hair so I did a simple head swap on the Vintage Collection Leia and swapped the plastic chain for the real one."

His parts selection looks pretty good to me!

JKNO shows us his customized up Hot Toys Vader!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 10 2016
"Hot Toys 1:6 Darth Vader, modified and upgraded by the talented JazzInc. Here are the mods he did on my Vader:

- repaint and weathering on the helmet
- slight buffing of the satin, just like the movie
- removed the dome
- put metal tape on the inside of the eyes to get a bit more red
- removed ribs on dome and sanded down the top of the 'head'
- reglued the dome slightly asymmetrically
- weathered and repainted the armor
- wired up the belt boxes and voice system to 4,5 dc adapter
- redressed him with cod as high as it could go
- chest box attached with double sided tape right underneath the armor
- weathered the belt, boxes and buckle
- removed the wire from the robe and added a heavier one along the bottom of the robe
- weathered and polished the shin armor
- painted all the hands flat black
- used double sided tape to really attach the glove to the hand seamlessly
- weathered and repainted the chest box
- did a lot of futzing and water treatment to get it to fall naturally
- removed all excess fabric from the inside seams of the tunic and vest
- cut some of the rubber from the side of the chest so the arms can go straight down
- repainted the upper eyelids black

No cathode saber for me, I display Vader in a static museum pose."

Uh, wow!

SUPERFAN-CREATED #GOROGUE VIDEO SERIES CONTINUES TODAY CHAPTER 2 STARS NEW TOYS FROM “ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY”

"WHAT: “Our recovery mission is a disaster… My entire project is already off schedule and over budget…” – Director Krennic, Chapter 2, Go Rogue

What happens next? Find out in Chapter 2 of the fan-created Go Rogue YouTube series. Written, directed and produced by a team of Star Wars superfans, the original four-part stop motion story stars key toys from the new “Rogue One” line before they hit stores Sept. 30.

With the first installment embraced by fans worldwide, topping 2.7 million views since its Aug. 31 release, the series follows the adventures of “Rogue One” toys from Hasbro, LEGO, FUNKO, JAKKS Pacific, Mattel and Disney Store as they try to track down the building instructions to the LEGO Star Wars Death Star set that have been misplaced by the Empire.

The four-part #GoRogue series kicks off a global UGC contest beginning September 30 that asks fans to share their own “Rogue Stories.” More information is available at StarWars.com/GoRogue for ages 13+, and for parents of kids ages 8-12, have them visit Disney.com/MyRogueStory.

"Hi everyone! Just a little bit of news. I’ve spent the last few months stocking for Dragon Con. It was our first time there as a vendor so I had no idea what would be hot sellers or not. This meant I had to stock like mad on ALL our prop items as well as diorama parts. Well, this now means that I have a little bit of everything (minus wall sections) in stock now. No waiting.

When am I coming out with new items? Well, I have a long long list of items I’d like to get to. Time is the biggest factor. Development has to take a backseat to filling existing orders and I currently have some Ghostbusters who need their proton packs before Halloween! LOL I already have a new item(s) underway though and hopefully it/they will be out before then."

The sword just needs more paint, and is complete with a pin letting the handle come off so it can be easily placed in his hands. Next is a basic paint job so I can put the tunic, and belt over it."

He is really making good progress. I can't wait to see the finale on this one.

Mr. Jedi 1977 finishes his Dio for Scene 1!

"OK i had a good day yesterday and I am very excited to share the first part /scene of my first diorama! First I had a lot of help with the pictures, and note you will see some of the same pictures with different angles. I figured if you doing something for the first time make a big splash and that is what I hope to do. I have included the parts I did for the diorama to show the level of detail I wanted to accomplish . Second you will see some added special effects on two of the pictures. And three a sneak peak of whats to come! So lets say like many of us I wondered what and how the scene would look like had it been filmed, of the deaths of Owen and Beru."

Yepper, definitely how I envisioned that particular scene.

Ron Hembling starts the base for his 6" Scale Dewback...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 5 2016
"Hi All,

I have started on the base and I decided to have the dio give the dio a partial cliff face. The reason I decided on a rocky cliff face is the dewback being green and the cliff being reddish browns and light browns will give each other the perfect contrast for each other.

I still have to paint and weather the troopers and I also need to a little touch up to the eyes.

Ron"

Looks fantastic to me already!

Mr. Jedi 1977 shares his 3rd Diorama Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 5 2016
"This update you can see I have added the sand to the generator and painted it. This was a big chance but paid off instead of real sand I went to one of those gadgets and gizmos store and bought a bunch of that sands alive which gives it a sandy wet look and never dries out. So I took advantage and molded it around the generator and painted it. Call it beginners luck but i think it worked perfectly! I am still working on the Debris and painting and that will be included in the next update. Enjoy and back again in a day or two! I have also included a bonus pic just to give you all an idea where this is going. Thanks again to all who look and take the time to comment."

It is hard to believe this is his first dio. He is conquering it like one who has made them all the time! I can't wait to see how he brings this one home. He looks to me to be on the home stretch.

Spotlight on Drakos' Arsonist...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 4 2016
"Flayed Wilson, the Mandalorian Arsonist

Named as such as a tribute to the Merc with a Mouth, this Mandalorian Arsonist trades off the mobility that a jetpack provides for a high-capacity flamethrower, making him extremely effective at close quarters and in tight areas. He also uses a modified Buy'ce that allows for better smoke filtration and extra breathing oxygen.

For this custom, I used the Jaster Mereel Body combined with the TVC Captain Fordo Phase 2 Helmet and the First Order Flametrooper's weapons."

I really love the combination of parts and the paint work up on this one!

I want to have a EPIV look to it so I have added some fur at the top of the neck and top of hind legs and tail. The fur was given two washes of Vallejo's Beige Brown and then 50/50 of PVA glue and Beige Brown.

Ron"

The Go Rogue we shared yesterday shared some great video of some great new products set to be released in various Star Wars Lines. Disney and Hasbro were kind enough to send us the PR Images of some of those products for your perusal. I am really liking quite a few of these. And remember to check our Facebook Page and Galleries as we get in new information regarding the Fall Toy Launch!

Ron Hembling shares new work on his Dewback...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 1 2016
"Hi All,

Started to paint the Dewback skin
. I have used Vallejo's German Cam Dark Green and gave it two coats so far and will end up giving it one more before the drybrushing and weathering.

Instead of the two saddle handles that came with the kit I cut and sanded some high density foam to shape and then glued fake fur to the foam. Once the fur dried I then painted the fur with Vallejo Dark Brown and then glued it to the saddle.

Ron"

Oh yeah, this is really shaping up well. Love seeing the color go on that beasty!

Mr. Jedi 1977 gives us a new diorama update...

"Well it was a productive day! But for the record I am not liking the mess Styrofoam makes ...Geez lol so you can see I did alot trimming and got rid of the plastic base that the lars homestead came with. I outlined it in the base and cut away so the stairs would look as if its in the base. I also put it together just to give you all an idea of the scale of the dio, and its big. Once that was done I found a spray paint that simulated a sand look."

That is just the start of his description. Sounds like a lot of work! It is sure paying off.

Jon K is back with some Rebel Pilots...

"Here's a quick take on the rebel pilots from TFA. Everyone other than my stock black series Poe is still 5POA, but I've added Jess Pava and gave them some helmetless heads. Nothing too fancy, but I like the way they all look together."

I think they look pretty good too.

Bandai gets in on the Rogue One Action...

Courtesy of JDECK who keeps us informed of all things Bandai,

"Bandai released some Rogue One product info. 1/12 death trooper, and 1/72 and 1/144 red leader x-wings. The death trooper looks cool. The x-wings are just new decals, but that's cool, at least its something other than red5."

I couldn't agree more. It seems like yesterday must have been official Rogue One Product release day right?
