Need a custom cloak for your 6" Action Figures?
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 30 2015
From Jedis to Sith to even Troopers they all would look great with a soft goods cloak. There are quite a few different offerings on eBay right now

I am particularly liking the darker cloak that would work for your Episode VI Jedi Luke or a Sith for that matter from eBay seller rickhor409. He also has a grey, blue, and red version available too. At $7.50 you really can't go wrong!

Ron Hembling is back with some TFA Work...

"Here are my usual outdoor pics and the trooper was painted and weathered using Vallejo and GW paints and Pastels.

The base is from a old DVD container with a foam core insert and then the ground was built up using a mix of plaster of paris, sand and small stones, the larger stones are from the garden and pushed into the plaster mix while still wet.

Once dry I then painted and weathered the base using Vallejo paints and Pastels and the small shrubs are from Army Painter."

I was wondering if he was gonna dabble in any Episode 7 stuff, question answered!

It was nice to see BT back. Of course his figures look as good as ever! Who new generic would look that fantastic?

Darth Daddy upgrades an older model Falcon...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 30 2015
"If you are like us, and you don't want to spend the money to buy another Millennium Falcon from Hasbro, here is a "Force Awakens" home improvement project that we made with our Star Wars: Power of the Force - Millennium Falcon. Years ago we upgraded our Falcon when the Legacy edition hit stores, so the 1995 released toy was sitting out of view a retired toy. Breathing life into it again was a real blast.

We had to heat the metal pin free from the old dish to get it off the housing, but it pulled apart pretty easily after a few minutes of being boiled in water. We weren't too crazy about the action features in Hasbro's new Millennium Falcon offering. The Nerf feature just felt out of place, and paying for a new dish was much cheaper than the new Falcon's price tag. We do admit that we wish we had the Finn and Chewbacca figures with the headsets! Those are great looking figures.

3D Print Designer TonyRR offers a replacement dish for the Falcon on Shapeways. The 66 mm quad radar dish is not round but square like the Episode VII Falcon. This upgrade is available in Frosted Ultra Detail."

Here is a link to the Radar Dish Darth Daddy was talking about on Shapeways by the way! I would think this would look fantastic on the bigger size Falcon too.

Hot Toys sends work on new 1/6th Scale TFA TIE Pilot...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 30 2015
"The First Order has enlisted a wide range of troops to carry out its will across the galaxy in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Following the reveal of the First Order Snowtrooper, Hot Toys is continuing to expand the First Order army and is delighted to officially present the new streamline designed First Order TIE Pilot 1/6th scale collectible figure from the highly anticipated movie!
The skilled pilots of the First Order launch into combat aboard advanced fighter craft to hunt down enemy vessels and protect space around First Order installations and warships.
The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of First Order TIE Pilot in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It features an all new glossy black color designed TIE Pilot helmet and armor with life support system, meticulously tailored flight suit, detailed blaster pistol, and a hexagonal figure stand with the First Order’s emblem!"

He looks pretty good for me. Look for us to feature this pre-order when it hits Sideshow!

"More work done to the Falcon, I'm almost done just need to add a few more greeblies and then the damage and a little sanding on the edges.

The greeblies on the Falcon are from 1/72, 1/35, 1/6 parts from model kits and figures and I have also used plasti card."

I had to include his top down view so you can see he is covering this from every conceivable angle!

Bronxstalker gives us a new Clone...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 29 2015
"Here goes my latest clone. After working on the commission, it put me in a clone mood, so I put together this latest clone using what I called throw away parts. It's made using the arms and lower legs of the chunkier saga clones and the torso/upper legs of the animated clones.

I went that route, because honestly, I'm not crazy about how skinny the animated clone figures are, however, after the leg/arm swap....I'm REALLY digging how the clone came out. It's like...a more stylized version of an animated clone, while looking more fierce and less cartoony (don't know if I'm making sense). He's then totally repainted using camo grey (I like it better than just white), blues, weathering and washed."

I sure know what means on that "skinny" animated style. I do like the looks of this new incarnation.

Starchaser is back with a realistic Satine...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 29 2015
"I always thought that Hasbro should have done Satine. I also thought she might look good in realistic style and after having seen a photoshop image of Ewan Mcgregor and Nicole Kidman in the roles, I thought, "use a Mrs. Coulter head from the Golden Compass movie figures." So I put a Mrs. Coulter together with a Black Series Luminara figure (and a lot of paint) and this is what I came up with."

"Hey guys, I was commissioned to do a Commander Ganch in 3.75" scale from a returning customer. Almost done with him, I still need to work on his head underneath. I'm also going to throw in an alternate helmet, which I'm still working on.

It was supposed to be simple repaint using the base figure, but I asked him if I could take it step further and make him more Commander Ganch accurate, but creating the round pauldron, adding the holsters to hang from pauldron, and to create the head underneath to look like baldy Ganch."

He looks spot on to me!

The Irish Rogue is back with new fan fiction!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 27 2015
"Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Oasis Calm -- Volume V Part 2 (Finale)

Having checked left and right, the pilot failed to acquire a firing vector on the incoming droids. “General, I can’t hit them! They’re right beneath us!” A laugh burst with giddy excitement from the causeway! Kindi had never seen combat during his life and reveled in its carnage. He had also never seen a Jedi Master…

Lasers pelted the ground and chased troopers! The squad remained unable to take out the metal giants. This was not due to the B2’s nimbleness, but to the lack of cover which denied clones a place to organize kill box. “Keep the FIRE up and MOVE! One spot is as good as the next!” Urgency was not something Hazoc plead for, but it was heavy in his voice, “Three men down!”

Folks that is just the start of the action. The Clone Wars will never be gone as long as we have the Irish Rogue around. It is just an excellent read!

Starfall previews new web-comic with great new customs...

Star-Fall The Comic will feature an a all new cast and a story set 1,000 years in the past, the events of which will tie into the novelization. With the fantastic art of J. S. Loomis, the comic will be hand drawn and fully inked and colored, with new pages set to drop every 2 weeks or so.

Each main character in the series will be based on its own hand-painted custom action figure, and I will continue to post photos of the figures here in this thread. Here is an ISY exclusive sneak preview of our two main characters from the first run of the web comic.

Meet Rrrouthaan and J'Vaadus."

I am very excited to see where this project goes after getting a small sneak peak into some of the custom character artwork. Let me just say from I have seen so far it is gonna knock your socks off folks!

JDeck reviews the SH Figurarts Luke...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 25 2015
"I got my SH Figuarts Luke Skywalker figure today. And wow, is this thing cool! Before I get into the review I'd like to say, 1/12 scale is just fantastic. Its definitely the Goldilocks scale of Star Wars figures. You get the articulation and attention to details of 1/6 scale but half the size, making it cheaper and easier to display. Right now is a great time to collect 1/12 figures because you have so many options as far as manufacturers. Black Series, Revoltech, Bandai kits, SH Figuarts and I'm sure I'm missing someone. They all offer something to the 1/12 table. That's why I won't compare the SH Luke to the TBS one because they're not in the same ballpark, or even on the same planet."

And folks, that is just the start of the review!

Folks, this images just won't do the small detail enough justice as it is over the top awesome! There is not an area on this that has not been touched up or redone. Wow!

Starchaser revisits a previous custom figure...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 24 2015
"I have finally been able to add the finishing touches to my Jenn Starchaser figure (as originally seen below):

I added a concept stormtrooper shield and a senate commando helmet (I've always been partial to the Corinthian style helmet). Painting the helmet was a bear because the plastic is so soft and slick. Anyway, while the colors don't show up perfectly, the blue on the helmet basically matches the tunic and there is a gray stripe as well. I think it ties the figure together well and looks more complete to me."

I liked the look before, but his additions I do agree complete it well. It sure makes a more knight like look to me too.

And more there were. He also showcases how sometimes its just about the parts and how you put em together. bdc41866 has been doing it for awhile now and shows (look at the back of this one) that he covers things from every angle.

Darth Crassus is back with a new Bandai Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 24 2015
"Because I liked the R2-D2 model kit so much, I got the C-3PO Bandai model kit. As with R2, this figure is perfectly in scale with the Hasbro Black Series 6'' figures. As Hasbro hasn't even released any version of 3PO in this scale yet, this model fills a big hole in my collection.

The model is fairly well articulated - well, about as well as 3PO is ever articulated. It comes with two sets of arms, articulated and non-articulated. I repainted one of the left arms red to match his appearance in The Force Awakens. He also comes with an alternate head (one without a dent) and a chest plate with a restraining bolt.

The model was a bit more difficult to put together and sometimes the gold finish got a bit chipped as I cut pieces from the plastic rack, but overall I love how he looks."

Jedi Minstrel explores a what if...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 24 2015
"Here's is one of the most simple, yet effective customs I've done.

Palpatine never became chancellor, never emperor, and never a Sith Lord. He was found by accident by a knight and her padawan as they were assigned to a mission to Naboo. There they met with some of the noble houses. As they were introduced to the Palpatine family, they felt the Force emanating from their new baby. The request was made that the child be taken to Coruscant to begin Jedi training. House Palpatine was hesitant but in the end, they let him go and Palpatine would become not the bringer of the end of the Jedi Order but a forward thinker that would bring some reform to the Order. He dies at the age of 115 and during his time on the Jedi Council and for decades to come, there was peace throughout the galaxy. No wars, just minor conflicts that were resolved with help from the Jedi and the sense of cooperation the Jedi brought to the galaxy.

This is just a simple head swap."

Jedi Minstrel shows its not always about excessive, but simple and effective. I also love the back stories he creates for his characters.

Ron Hembling gives us a 6" Falcon Dio Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 22 2015
"Did some more work on the Falcon today. I redid the circular part and removed about 1/2 and inch of the end and then used cardboard to make the tiles. I also did the mid section using foam core and plasti card and the gun turret section of the AMT Falcon kit.

I also decided to added a little bit of the hull to both sides of the hatach section by using foam core and this will be covered with card board and then greeblies will be added."

Man this is gonna be great! Heck, it already is. Is there anything Ron can't do? Sure doesn't look like it from where I am sitting.

I love the scale of this already. It is gonna be huge! No doubt his son already has a big ole smile on his face. Such a cool wooden Star Wars Line he is creating!

Commander Kurgan shows us a great kit-bash...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, September 22 2015
"By speaking of kitbashes: here's the first figure in a series of early Alliance era resistance fighters.
You'll recognize the TVC Bespin Luke as basic figure, GI Joe POC Duke's head (one of the nicest male stock sculpts, I think), GI Joe Resolute Siberia Duke's gloved hands, feet from a TAC Rahm Kota, bandolier and rifle from two TVC aliens."

Tell me thats not a figure you would buy if you saw it on the pegs! Sometimes its not about hard or paint or sculpting. Put good parts together that move and everyone is happy!

JDeck starts up Bandai Model Reviews...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 21 2015
"I decided to go ahead and do reviews on these Bandai Star Wars kits. I won't go through the actual build, just the overall review. Highlighting the pros and cons of the kit and how it stacks up to other manufacturers. If you've never put a model kit together these kits are very simple. These kits are designed for children, I think everyone on here is smart enough to build these. They require a slim amount of patience and common sense. No glue and no paint required."

His first one is the Bandai Scout trooper and Speederbike. I can't wait to see him go over these.

Have you gotten Dorside Toys' Exclusive POP yet?
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 20 2015
Our sponsor Dorkside Toys' very own first exclusive is the Funko POP Vinyl R2-L3 Astromech Droid. I got one of these in the mail any my daughter promptly claimed it and off to school it went. I had to order a replacement for myself! It has to be the cutest POP I have seen to date.

Don't forget to use Dorkisde Toys to avoid the crowded stores and empty pegs to get all your new items too! Shop either their full Star Wars Section or go to their Episode 7 The Force Awakens Only Section to load up on all the great new Star Wars Goodness.

Starchaser is back too!
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 20 2015
"So summer is over and I've got a few simple customs in the works, but not a lot of time. I did put this character together.

Nole Kironix - a Snivvian poet whose political satire earned him a bounty from the Empire, so he joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic (and Freedom of Speech). Being a cold weather species, the Alliance quickly put his natural hardiness to use as a scout on cold weather planets. Nole scouted Toola, Ordo Plutonia, Rhen Var and Hoth (among others)."

I like the recipe and overall look of this one. I could see him being at home in any Hoth Dio. It would be cool to see a Hoth Hat to go with this one!

Mandalore25 is back with a new Jedi...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 20 2015
"Made a Pacithhip Jedi. Drilled out Ketwol's head to make it work on a ball joint.

Looks pretty wild to me. I love the looks of Alien Jedi!

UPDATE! He has just listed two new Alien Jedis that you can find listed on our Facebook Page and add them to your collection if you wish.

Well first off it is great to see you back Stronox. Second, it is one awesome looking new custom and I love the movement in this. Third folks, you can add this one to your collection as he has him listed on eBay!

BDC41866 gives us a super articulated Rey!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 18 2015
"My entry is Rey from Starkiller Base. As for the parts, the base body is the Padme Amidala Black Series from Episode II. Head is the original Rey 5 POA figure. The arms are from the pregnant Padme (Revenge of the Sith) as well as the lower legs (knees down). I used Elis Helrots scarf for Reys lower pantaloons. and a neck scarf from Sharad Hett. Also included the 5 POA Reys staff weapon."

Yepper, now that is a Rey I can get excited about. Thats a great recipe folks. Make sure you read the full challenge details as its our Birthday and were giving you a party!

I-am-Boba-Fett is back with a new Mando...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 18 2015
"Here is another custom Star Wars WAD'E TAY'HAAI Mandalorian figure made awhile back but never posted. Wad’e Tay’haai was one of seventy-five Mandalorian warriors that were comprised of the Cuy'val Dar and was one of the trainers for the Clone Troopers and appears in the Republic Commando books. Features: custom made Mandalorian Spear and battle flute accessories."

Lovin those Mandos he is creating lately. All the accessories and his use of magnets for attaching is amazing!

Mandalore25 is back with some new Sith...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 18 2015
"A customer requested this Darth Zannah, this would be the third Darth Zannah I've made, and I think it might be my best yet. She looks pretty cool by my comic style Darth Bane too."

Man, these just look like the epitome of evil. The eyes especially showcase that Sith look in my opinion.

Gurt is back with some custom Younglings...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 18 2015
"New Padawan and Youngling custom bashing.

Rodian, Arcona, Patrolian, Clawdite, Ithorian, Wookie, and a made up alien race. Can you tell which figures I popped to get the heads/bodies?

Had to dig back in after getting so disappointed in Hasbro 3.75" 5POA figures. Blah! It is like Mattel bought them...

96 days and counting."

Ain't that the truth! Well at least it gives customizers some great opportunities to show their stuff!

Darth Crassus creates a great R2...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 17 2015
"I made an R2-D2 from a Bandai model kit. Before building, I sprayed the dome with chrome paint before painting to give it a nice sheen. I then added some weathering in line from what we've seen of R2 from the Episode VII promo photos. It was an easy build.

The model is as articulated as a TBS action figure, so you can put him in different poses. Best of all, it's perfectly in scale with the 6'' action figures, making it a great replacement for the underwhelming TBS 6'' R2 Hasbro made."

Now, I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer some days, but I am sensing a theme here this morning?

JDeck compares the Bandia 6" Stormtrooper Kit to its Hasbro Counterpart...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 17 2015
"I built a Bandai stormtrooper today, I haven't put the decals on yet because I'm waiting for my microset to come in. I'll get into that later. Just look at the comparison between it and the Black Series Stormtrooper, its just amazing. The proportions of the bandai stormy is spot on as for the Black series he looks sickly. Also I like the smokey green lenses and the shiny white poly-styrene armor. The Black Series is dull with that painted vinyl plastic. Like I said I'm REALLY picky when it comes to Stormtroopers. They have to be right, and this Bandai kit is right."

He also goes on to describe a product called micro-set and how he is going to apply some decals. Great stuff. Too bad those Bandai Kits aren't gonna be sold in the US anymore!

"With the Shuttle in drydock waiting repair I decided to start a new project and decided to make a partial Falcon dio with the ramp section, I won't be making it 100% movie accurate as I'll be using bits and pieces in my parts bin.

The hull has so far been made out of foam core and will have plasti card built over the top of that and will have a small base that it will be secure to."

You can already see the wonderful potential for this one.

Ben Alius finishes his SW Freighter!

"The ship is now done! It did not end up exactly like I wanted it to be, but I'm satisfied with the end result.
I call it "Aeolus Arnasa" Here are the final pictures!"

I turned out fantastic folks. Make sure you click through and see the full image finale. The playability with this one is off the charts cool.

Gold Leader One sweetens up the Miniatures Outrider...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, September 14 2015
"I recently picked up the Outrider from the X-wing Miniatures game set. While it looks cool, I have no interest in playing this game but have found the ships to have some awesome detail. The only area lacking was the engine. As you can see, its black so it definitely looks bland. I took some ice blue paint from games workshop paints and touched it up, giving it some "engine glow" color. The Micro Machines and titanium versions of the Outrider have a light blue color on the engine, so seeing this not have any color seemed out of place. It's very minor, but it definitely makes it stand out a bit more I think."

I agree it looks a lot better with the blue!

I don't think there is anything Brandon can't scratch build or just make outright. I can remember one of these characters being shown in an early clip.

Brandon just nailed him spot on from every angle.

This is a great First Order Storm/Clone Trooper by Jason Todd Kimball.

Sjefke showcases a great update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, September 13 2015
"I finally have something to post.

I recently ordered two TBS Mosep Binneed figures (Good thing. Never saw bupkis at retail) with the idea to make three customs from the two. One I'm keeping clean (OK, with a few modifications) and the other I split the head and the body.

Tawss Khaa was the other Nimbinal in Mos Eisley Spaceport, but he was also known as the original Jabba the Hutt.

To keep from destroyed a good head, I molded and casted Mosep's head.

Finally, I wasn't satisfied with how limited the range of motion was on the 16 POA figure with rocker ankles, so I cut about a millimeter from the backs of his knees and elbows and split the uniform's skirt. I think I could get him to sit in a chair now."

He sure looks great to me. What a way to create that head too. And the new range of movement he was able to get is astounding!

I-am-Boba-Fett continues his Disney Princess Crossovers...

"Here's a custom Star Wars Disney's ARIEL as a SITH figure.

Features:

- Hair sculpting done by me

- Custom made Sith Lightsaber

- Custom sculpted mid-section stomach area

- Soft goods details

- Fully poseable custom figure with lots of articulation"

My daughter is loving these figures in the realistic style too. Wow, she is spot on with the reference image he used to create her.

Its time for our annual Birthday Custom Challenge...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
You knew it was coming! Its time for our annual Birthday Bash! This time the theme was pretty simple to come up with: take one of those awful TFA Figures with the 5 points of articulation and show Hasbro what they should look like with full movement! You will have between now and November 9th to post your entry so get cracking!

Mandalore25 and Sjefke show us some cheap custom fodder...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
With the lack luster movement in regards to the new The Force Awakens Line, customizers have been on the prowl for ways to turn these figures into something worthwhile.

Leave it to the custom artists Sjefke and Mandalore25 to share some of their resources and links to finding cheap custom fodder to find ways to add some movement back into your action figures.

Like M25's eBay Auction for less than $2 a figure.

Ben Alius shows us his progress on his Wooden Freighter...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"The first layer of paint is on the outside of the ship."

I really, really enjoy his wooden line up he has created to give his son some quality Star Wars Toys, but without the fantastic mark up at retail. He is creating quality items that his son absolutely enjoys.

Elias and Darth Daddy show us some great projects...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"Elias has been hard at work creating some really cool displays for his shelves. His latest project was adding an "eight panel computer console" to an Imperial diorama that he has been working on. We bought the computer console from Hole In the Ground Productions and placed it in a Frank D'iorio Diorama Workshop inspired piece that we purchased second hand on eBay. We used glossy black adhesive vinyl contact paper on some spare foam board that we had to add the flooring to the walls and completed the look."

Talk about one great look. Sometimes it is not about being over complicated. I would love to have a shelf like that in my own collection!

Mr. Jedi 1977 shows us some OT Characters I didn't know existed...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"Ok I am starting off with a custom that I don't think I have seen anybody create as of yet. This character is in the move just before luke and obi wan enter the cantina and can be seen for a split second. I will just call him the voidspider speeder pilot lol."

Looks great to me. Trust me, that is just a drop in the bucket of a very large update to see.

The Clonehead reviews the new Disney Die-Cast Flamethrower Trooper...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"Got this bad boy in the mail yesterday.

Mostly die cast with some plastic, this Flametrooper is a hefty brute. Some extra lower extremity twist articulation would add to the poses available with the ball jointed hips but as heavy as this guy is, I don't know how many poses his heft would allow.

The included plastic base has a foot peg which helps.
The body and plastic head sport great detail, the body being screwed together with the back pack being metal as well.

That leaves my only real complaint being the bendy plastic used for the flame thrower which arrived already warped in the package.

He is a size larger than the black series 6 inch tfa trooper. I have attempted some forced perspective attempts with both as well as straight up side to side shots."

I am so tempted to delve into this line. So tempted. It seems about the only way to get articulation outside of the Black Series 6" Line now!

Big Padawan Customs creates a super arty Finn I would buy!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"Made my own super-arty Finn using parts from Ponda Baba and Starkiller. Its not movie accurate, but I like him nonetheless. As always feel free to leave comments..."

I really like him too. I so would have bought this one had he been released instead of the stuff that is out there now!

Darth Crassus creates his first First Order Custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"I got a pretty good haul on Force Friday. I decided to try a simple custom. I swapped Finn's head onto an extra Stormtrooper body. Fortunately, the peg fits the hole and voila a Finn in Stormtrooper armor custom. My first TFA custom!"

It also looks really good to me. We can only hope a few of these type figures will show up in the exclusive Black Series line. My fingers are crossed as figures like this I will buy!

Jedi Minstrel is back!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"Well, it's been a loooong time since I last posted anything so here goes.

I don't have quite a backstory or even a name at this point but, this one is a remnant of the Clone Wars. A survivor, in fact."

Just a great combination of parts!

Ghost Skull 18 makes a Finn we would all love to own...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"Finn trooper is made from 5POA 1st order trooper with added articulation from clone wars arf trooper an the lower half of a TVC clone trooper."

Now that is a great combination if you ask me. Seeing some of the poses he is able to get really slams it home how important articulation is in an action figure.

Mandalore25 is back with a new one already...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, September 12 2015
"This is my Darth Bane. Sewed all the soft goods. Sculpt the collar, details on the shoulder pad, details on the hand, belt, and boots."

Wow, such a drastic change from the original figure he used as a based. I really enjoy good soft goods work too.

Mandalore25 gives us a new Mando...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 11 2015
"Here's my Cassus Fett. Dulled some gold paint, and sewed the soft goods myself. Not too big a fan of mixing paint, always mix too much, not enough, or it dries out before I finish. This time I mixed clear varnish in to keep it moist, and supplement it a bit. It worked great, and made the paint's finish a bit nicer."

Wow, the gold is so cool on this one. I love old school Mandalorians in the Crusader armor. Think I got that right.

UPDATE: This one is now listed on eBay if anyone would like to own him.

Mr. Black is back!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 11 2015
"Another long break, but now that summer's over I have picked up the pace again. First up is a custom action figure of a friend of mine. This idea just came up a while ago and once I started working on the figure, it came along just perfectly. She has three cats, for which I used Playmobil cats. I'm happy to say she was very pleasantly surprised by my gift."

What a great idea for a gift. It sure looks like Remco hasn't lost his touch thats for sure!

I-am-Boba-Fett gives us a crossover...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 11 2015
"Here is a custom Star Wars Disney's Mulan as a Jedi figure made in a realistic style not animated.
Features:
- All new exclusive head sculpt by me
- Custom paint work
- Resin cast torso
- Resin Cast belt midsection area
- Sculpted forearm sleeves"

Looks great to me. I bet this would look awesome with an animated Disney Head too.

Larifari gives us a new incarnation of Kylo Ren...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 11 2015
"Less uniform, thinner belt. thus it appears to be higher."

Guy knows how to take a pic to show of his work too. I really like all of the work he has shown us so far!

"Writer's Note: A very special thanks goes out to Chewie for adding the perfect laser blast effect, and Matthew Horst for helping me with one frame I was having some trouble with! I appreciate the help guys!"

I like it! Customizers helping customizers in whatever form it might be. And by the way, this is one awesome read, full of action!

Ron Hembling is back with an I.M.P.S. Custom Update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 11 2015
"Here is the completed I.M.P.S trooper, I painted and weathered him using Vallejo and GW paints and pastel chalks.

The base is from the Bandai trooper with plasti card edging and the ground work was built up using putty. I used real rocks, grass and dirt to cover the base and the small shrubs are from Army Painter."

I.M.P.S. is my favorite fan created film. I loved the second series of this. Seeing that Walker Drop was just awe inspiring! Anyhow, Ron really captures that feeling well.

JDeck finishes his Y-Wing Hangar...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 10 2015
"I painted my figures for this Y-wing maintenance hanger display. I'm not Da Vinci when it comes to painting figures, more like an impressionist, lol, but in 1/72 you don't need much detail. The pilot is Jon "Dutch" Vander and his droid along with some mechanics. From my references the R2 is all grey so that's how I painted it. I like this display, since I was building WW2 models/dios I've been wanting to do some kind of maintenance hangar. So I think I'll make more hangar displays with some of the other Bandai vehicles."

With results like this I sure don't blame him!

Mandalore25 gives us some new Aliens...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 10 2015
"Made a couple of green Nikto, one a jedi, and one a rebel pilot with an astro droid.

Both are listed if anybody is interested:

For the jedi

For the rebel pilot."

What can I say, we always need more aliens in our SW Verse! I like em.

Ghost Skull 18 arties up the new Finn...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 10 2015
"Finn WIP an Kylo is finished, Finn is made using the legs of Indiana jones, torso from mutt , arms are from Yavin Luke and the rest is 5poa Finn. Kylo is made using the lower legs an cloth from darth sidious , the upper waist is from a hobbit figure, arms are from a dark Luke and the rest is 5poa Kylo."

It is so nice to see figures that actually can move. I believe thats why we call them action figures!

Sjefke is back with a fix for those pesky Astro-Mechs!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 10 2015
"Hey Yarders. I wanted to share a quick fix for the R4-G9 astromech sculpt. To the irritation of many, on many of the figures utilizing this sculpture, the factory assembled the descending foot BACKWARDS, rendering the figure unable to rest its foot flat on the ground.

I just acquired Battle Damaged R2, and this flaw was really working on my OCD. The foot is cast in a hard plastic, so boil and Boil&pop won't work. contemplated cutting and reattaching the foot in the proper orientation, but the a more simple solution hit me. The foot swivels back and forth on a peg ( Duh! ), and the angle of the swivel is limited by the plastic blocks at the attachment site. By simply cutting a millimeter from the rear block, the foot can swivel enough to rest flat."

Well now, quick and easy I like it! You can see a ton of difference in how this one sits in the before and after pictures. Thanks Sjefke!

Bronxstalker gives us a great Force Friday reveal...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 9 2015
"When I heard that we were getting 5 PoA figures, I was bummed out, so I decided to make my own Kylo Ren. He uses a Marauder Task Force base figure, so not only does he have exceptional articulation, but he stands at a tad bit over 4".

I have to redo the belt as it came out rough, and I need to redo the lightsaber, as I didn't make it long enough, but you get the idea of what the finished figure is like.

The helmet is fully sculpted over a snake eyes head, and I even made sure to sculpt the back of the helmet as to what I've seen on the web (even though it remains hidden under the hood for the most part). At this scale, it wasn't easy doing the helmet, but I think it looks pretty decent.

Happy Force Friday."

He had this posted this past Friday, but I am so behind on my custom postings. Matter of fact he now has this one listed on eBay and hands down this is so much better than the regular Hasbro one you won't regret the purchase.

We welcome CoruscantiMoff to the customizing boards...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 9 2015
"This is a fuel tanker used by Imperial patrols in the Coruscant underworld. It is a junk pile of a craft only meant to transport fuel to hapless Imperial vehicles enforcing law in the Wild West of Coruscant. The Imperial vehicle is one of a kind made by patrol troopers for their personal use. It is made from old parts of ships and a standard fuel tank. It is slow, unsafe, and falling apart but it gets fuel to stranded Imperial walkers in the Underworld. Many vehicles of its kind is abandoned in the Underworld after attacks by criminal organizations seeking to steal the valuable cargo. These fuel tankers are practically defenseless, the only defense is the pilot's blaster."

Welcome to ISY! I like the simplicity of this one. Keep em coming!

Some of this and some of that. Working on getting the missiles listed again. Even got a female mando Parts auction I started at .99

Got some new parts to show including some force awakens stuff

Since 6 inch Finns head already pops onto a stormie body. It made since to get a hollow helmet together for him.

Of the new 3 3/4 heads, phasma had enough size to render hollow.

I took a Super articulated fun shot with TVC fordo wearing the Phasma bucket.
6 inch Kylos head and the hollow buckets should be ready to cast by tomorrow."

It is really looking great to me so far. A heck of a lot nicer than the nerf firing blaster version Hasbro is giving us. I wonder if MR is gonna fix that one up?

WALMART IS ANNOUNCED AS THE NEW EXCLUSIVE U.S. HOME OF HASBRO’S STARWARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-INCH FIGURES...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, September 4 2015
Some of the press release,

"The Collector-Favorite Line Will Feature Figures From the Saga Films and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, Beginning on September 4

BENTONVILLE, AR, Sep. 4, 2015 – Walmart and Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) announced today that the retail giant will be the exclusive home of the fan-favorite STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-inch toy line in the U.S.

Starting on “Force Friday,” September 4, Walmart.com will begin selling the first wave and taking pre-orders on the second wave of the highly collectible toy line. Customers will find the product in stores beginning in October, making Walmart the only destination in the U.S. for fans looking for highly detailed, highly articulated 3 3/4-inch figures based on the upcoming film STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

First launched in 2013, STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-inch line quickly became a fan-favorite line, in the tradition of earlier Hasbro toy lines like the STAR WARS VINTAGE collection. As the new exclusive US home to the STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-inch line, Walmart is proud to become the go-to destination for STAR WARS fans looking for the finest Hasbro toys available.

“Walmart is very excited to be the exclusive home of the Star Wars Black Series 3 ¾ inch figures,” said Anne Marie Kehoe, vice president of toys at Walmart. “This is just the beginning - fans, customers and collectors can expect Walmart and Walmart.com to be the place to find the newest characters and figures as they are released.”

“We’re thrilled that Walmart will be the new home for fans’ beloved STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-inch toy line,” said Maureen Smith, senior vice president of brand marketing for Hasbro. “With the support of a world-class retailer like Walmart, we can ensure that collectors continue to get new, highly detailed and articulated 3 3/4-inch STAR WARS action figures for years to come.”

The first wave of the new STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES 3 3/4-inch line is currently available for purchase on Walmart.com and features EPISODE VI DARTH VADER, EPISODE VI LUKE SKYWALKER, and EPISODE IV CHEWBACCA. The second wave, featuring a brand new EPISODE IV PRINCESS LEIA figure and the first two figures based on STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (FIRST ORDER STORMTROOPER and KYLO REN), are available to pre-order now on Walmart.com. Both waves will be available in stores in the next few months. Additional 3 ¾-inch figures will be coming later in 2015."

That sure works for me! I am breathing a big ole sigh of relief that the 3 and 3/4 line is still going to be able to use the term "action" for their action figures.

Sjefke shares word on some 5 POA Fixes!

He has scoured eBay and found some great links to some revoltech joints that you can used the spice up the movement in your TFA Action Figures.

"Hey Yarders, I was surfing through eBay when I noticed sellers vmaont and happy2u88 . They're selling lots of loose joints of various colors. The price doesn't seem unreasonable. I can see a use for these when super-articulating 5POAs, repairing a broken joint or scratch building."

Sounds like a great idea to me. Just one of the links he sent alone shows great promise to me!

"I've been working on my Y-wing base. Since I can't replicate the exact props from ANH I'm going with a Rogue one inspired look, based on the photos that have been released. I'll add darker washes to the base and build more props and of course paint the figures. Once I get the lights hooked up it'll be pretty cool."

Talk about one great looking ship now in a great looking hangar. After seeing all the Hasbro Stuff man a person could think about just switching to Bandai!

Here is my repainted R5-D4 which I repainted into a Imperial Astromech R6-H8, he was painted using Tamiya matt black spray paint and then I used GW paints for the rest and weathered him using pastels. I also gave him some chips on the silver areas by lightly chipping the paint away using a model knife."

It is good to see him back and man that R6 looks fantastic.

Ben Alius shows more progress on his SW Freighter...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, September 3 2015
"Yesterday the progress was big. I've finished building the biggest part on the top outside and on the inside. The belly of the freighter is still flat. I don't like that so the next few days I will spent thinking on how to solve that."

It sure looks great to me. Perhaps adding some thicker hull plating on the bottom or more guns? More guns is always better. Talk about one SWesque Freighter though!

"Over the weekend, I decided to order some super sculpey to try my hand in the sculpting busts department. I heard some good things about super sculpey, especially in that it feels and looks almost skin like.

After a little while with it yesterday....I gotta say, I really like it. Too bad it needs to be baked, because I would have loved to use this on figures. Oh well. Here's what I slapped together fairly quick. Basic out of this world head and some texture work to make it look even more like skin."

It sure looks like it could make some superior head sculpts!

Argos sends word about Force Friday Event...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, September 2 2015
"Hi Imperial Shipyards team,

With just a few days to go until Force Friday arrives and the brand new toys from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens film land on shelves, we would like to invite you to an exclusive preview of an exhibition that looks back over the last four decades of Star Wars toys.

Held at the Argos Tottenham Court Road digital store in London, the exhibition will open its doors on Friday 4th September at 8am so fans can take a trip back in time and come face-to-face with some of the most iconic toys spanning Episodes I-VII.

Toy replicas of the AT-AT Walker from 1982 through to more modern additions like the Lego Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter, along with character figurines dating back to the late 1970s will be on display alongside the newly launched toys that are set to take the galaxy by storm this Christmas!

Toys from the brand new range including new Lego lines will also be available to buy in-store on the day.

The exhibition will run for one week, so if you can’t make the exclusive preview do not fear you have until Thursday 10th September to view the exhibition.

If you are one of the first five to enter the preview on the morning of 4th September dressed as your favorite Star Wars character, you will be in with a chance of winning a selection of the brand new toys to add to your collection!"

Sounds like a fun time to me. If I were across the pond I would sure attend.
