Now this is a ship!
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 31 2008
The picture kind of speaks for itself, but I sure did enjoy reading the story and seeing the pics of Clint opening up his new BMF in our forums. He also has quite a good review of this ship and a few areas where they fell just a little short. Overall, he was quite happy with his purchase though. When will these guys stop asking me to open my boxes though?
Star Wars Insider 103 came today.
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, July 31 2008
I got home from a long day and saw that my issue was here. As you can see, it is heavily inundated with the new Clone Wars movie and features a question and answers session for Henry Gilroy: the lead animator for the new movie. There was also a session on the top 10 jaw dropping moments and I am glad to report that the AT-AT made the top ten list. The one at the top quite surprises me and makes me glad September 16th is around the corner (hint, hint). Finally, the biggest thing that stood out on my first glance was the quote by Harrison Ford, "Han Solo is not so interesting to me. It was great for my career and I had fun at the time, but I won't go back there. His outfit was not good!" What a tool. Oh well, you can check out the highlights here and order this for yourself if you are not already a subscriber of Star Wars Insider.

The Toy Shop has the new Comics On!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 30 2008
If you are like me you still need a few weeks it will take these to hit the regular shelves as you heal up from your wounding infliced this past Saturday, but for those of you who are not faint of heart, Hasbro Toy Shop has quite a few goodies up for sale. The ones that caught my eye were the new Anakin & Durge and the Assjj & Tol Skorr comic packs. There are also still a few of the good Legacy Collection figs up for sale at non-ebay prices in the form of; Saesee Tiin, Obi-Wan in armor, and the Imperial Evo Trooper. There is a good bit more including the Torrent and BMF, but there is only so much time to go through so many pages of SW goodies. I had to get off-site or the temptation may have been too much to resist!
Homing Beacon 253 skippy
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, July 30 2008
Of course starwars.com always gives us useful information, but Target still has a lot of great Clone Wars and Legacy Merchandise. Just type in CMDFOX and shop Star Wars at Target.com. Looks like you can also save 10% on an order when you open a target credit account. This might not be a bad option when you are going for the like of the BMF and the AT-TE!
Darth C shows us the start of his Hoth diorama
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 29 2008
Of course, everyone knows how I like Hoth above all the other Star Wars environments, but when our own Darth C sent me the images for this my jaw dropped. Does this look kick butt or what? Feel free to see a few different views in our forums and help Darth C decide which view works best. I can't wait to see what this looks like when he gets it done!

Lookee what I found on EE!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 29 2008
I came to Star Wars Collecting as the ROTS Line was hitting and made the ships my number one priority after the new figures. I have been trying to get this ship into my collection as soon as I saw it in the first Clone Wars deco box. Many a time was there a bid by Tamer on Ebay for one of these bad boys and I just couldn't justify the prices these ships were going for and lost every auction. When I heard the rumor this was re-releasing I was overjoyed! Anyhow, order yours here and be sure to drop in on our basic vehicles thread to share your view of this release!
Will Clonehead get his battlepack?
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 29 2008
Our customizer extraordinaire has found all of the new battlepacks except for this last Hoth Speeder Bike Patrol and has been gracious enough to show us his perspective on the two he has so far in our forums. He is really making me regret passing up on that Clone Wars Speeder Bike Recon. You have to believe me though when I tell you that our Clonehead has an attention to detail so fine he never misses even the smallest detail!
What do you think of the First Day of Issue Figures?
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 29 2008
I finished off my last one with Gree today when my local Wal-Mart finally set out the figures that were supposed to release Saturday. I wasn't sure I was gonna go nuts with this one, but was able to see multiples of each when I found my first new toy display this past Saturday. I was also anxious to see other collector's take on how hard it was for them to get all of these or if they are still looking? Did you forgoe the regular figures to get your little Clone sticker? Please answer these questions and give us your view on this promotion in our forums.
Joker Squadron Revealed!
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, July 29 2008
After the last mystery sets, I didn't even hesitate and I had this pre-ordered even before the reveal came in during SDCC. Needless to say I kept the order after seeing the new pictures. I am really liking the looks of the new Quarren Sith Lord leading this squad. The soldier with the beard is a nice touch too! I wonder if this is a spin off from the George Lucas Stormy? Either way, get your Joker Squadron EE Exclusive ordered today because I know none of us are gonna be disappointed when this arrives (EE says October, Hasbro says late December).
Holographic Grievous up at Toyrus
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
Well after all that scrambling it seems toysrus has made fools of us because they are now offering the same incentive as they were doing midnight madness. If you buy thirty dollars worth of merchandise you can get a free grievous or buy him outright for $9.99. I guess that will show us to get in a hurry to get a store exclusive. Check out their webiste for more details on this figure. I would like to hear if you went out into the midnight crowd to get yours or what ordeals you had to endure to get this figure.
The new and improved Imperial Shipyards!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
As we hope you will see, we have been just as busy as Hasbro and the new lines trying to upgrade and redeploy. It has sure been a learning curve for poor little ole Tamer, but I survived the onslaught through the patience of our fellow admins and we have this new look to show for it. It offers us much improved graphics and a more user friendly forum, while still providing the same services and options we liked from our old forum and hangar bay page. We hope you will register and share your views on our new look today! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience while we upgraded from the old main page and forum. As always we strive to provide a place to enjoy our Star Wars collecting hobby free of the attitudes and pressures we have all seen through our years of viewing Star Wars on the web. Our number one goal is to allow you to JUST HAVE FUN!
SDCC Disturbance in the Force is now up!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
Hasbro had this up as of the time of story submission. If you want to bring this home go check out Hasbro Toy Shop online at the following link. I have to admit I wasn't sure I would get this, but it grew on me and I ordered one myself. Try to use the code COMIC2008 at checkout to get 10% off your order. I wish I had known about that before I ordered. I guess I will try calling Toy Shop tomorrow. Also please stop by our forums and share your view of why you did or did not buy this.
Pick up a copy of the Clone Wars Visual Guide
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
Well I went hunting for the new figs at my closest Wal-Mart, but came up empty. I was walking toward the exit when I happened to look into the magazine aisle (something I never do) and saw this bad boy sitting on the shelf. The book was well worth the $14 I paid for it. One word of caution: IT DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS. I will attest though that it left me more than eager to see the movie in the theater in just a few weeks. I can only hope that we get lucky and Hasbro makes some of these new ships that are featured in this. Stop by our forums for a little peek and tell us what you think.
The Yarders are hauling it in!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
It seems like the Shipyarders are really finding the new goodies. I still think I am in for the most so far at over $700 smackers if I count my pre-orders (I know: never add it up), but I know there are some close behind! Stop into our New Star Wars Purchases thread to see just what all they found and share your own adventures. Our own Darth C sure did have a time with Toys R Us, but he finally did score his Holo Grievous! I didn't have nearly as rough a time, but the Wal-Mart BMF and AT-TE displays sure did tick me off! Why in the world would you use the boxes themselves to support the entire display?
SW Shop Exclusive Senate Security up for order
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
Not that I am complaining, but we didn't get too many San Diego Comic Convention Exclusives this year. The hit my wallet took on Saturday, like I said before, isn't making me too sad though. Still, all in all, this is a pretty daggone good looking figure. If you want one in your collection take advantage of this link and bring one home. It includes a clear plastic protective case and according to the shop was the very first figure available in the world sporting the all new blue and white clone deco. Please also let us know what you think of this figure in our forums.
Thank You Whoever you were!
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, July 28 2008
Here I was standing beside the Wal-Mart store display tugging and pulling to get my BMF and AT-TE that I was too befuddled by the time I got done to get into the basic figures. There was a guy beside me who was admiring the new display and saw I was starting to go through the Clone Wars waves. He helped me find the "1st Day of Issue" cards and was good enough to check out the cards and bubbles to make sure they were decent. He also put me onto the fact that Tinn was the short-packed figure in the Legacy Waves so I could put that in the cart before someone else came along. Dummy me, I didn't get his name, but I did remember to give him the url of this place. I sure hope he shows up so I can thank him the right way. I also hope he joins our Forums as I could use another good Yarder in my neck of the woods. And here I thought I was the Lone Ranger in my backwoods of WV liking this Star Wars stuff!
