"Hi All,

I woke up this morning and opened my emails to find Jeremy Bulloch had sent me an email. with a pic of the figure on display It made my day and what an awesome guy.

I have left out his email for privacy.

Hi Ron

Sorry for the delay in emailing you, but it has been mad since we got back from Australia, we have also been to the USA since. As you can see the figure made it back to the UK in one piece and is now sitting happily in my office. Many, many thanks - it was a lovely gift.

All the best

"Here is my first 6" Black Series custom: Luke Skywalker from Shadows of the Empire. I've seen others make this same figure but with Shadows being my favorite story I'm really happy to have my own.

Parts I used:

Head, hands, blaster, holster - Bespin Luke
Body and lightsaber - Jedi Luke
Vest - Greedo

I plan on painting the vest a lighter tan but this is good enough for now."

Looks pretty awesome to me!

JDeck brines up a statue...

"I did some weathering on the Poseidon statue. I used pastel chalks. First white to create a pitted look, then different browns for dirt, or silt. Then I used a small amount of fine turf for algae, and finally a coat of WS concrete watercolor."

Now that sure looks like it has sat at the bottom of the ocean for a few years. Perfect look if you ask me!

- Custom made resin cast Blaster Pistol

- Custom sculpt work

- Custom made harness and attached resin cast ammo and pouches"

JDeck starts an Aquaman Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 28 2017
"I started a real quick Aquaman diorama. This is pretty much the basic idea. The statue is an aquarium decoration of Poseidon. I first cut it in half, then I sanded it to make it look like it had been underwater for a couple thousand years. I started making some ruin blocks, one of which I added the Aquaman symbol to using epoxy clay. The plants are leftovers from the ones I used on my Endor display, I forgot what company it was. Im also using some tiny shells, and ground up shells, for added details. I just need to paint some things, pour the plaster/sand and suspend Aquaman in a floating position."

Looks pretty good to me. Be sure to take a look at his DC Icons Aquaman Figure Review in the Imperial Archives Section too.

Another small update on the bridge.

I have done the end sections of the consoles and also the roof section leading into the turbo lift, I have used foam board for these and then glued all the sections together except the capt chair and helm and navigation section so that I can work on the bridge without obstructions.

The roof to the turbo lift has had fly screen mesh added to it and will later get frosted plastic for the light cover.

"Dianoga Trash Monster Jumbo Figure

When the vintage Death Star Space Station Playset was released in 1978 the designers had to take some creative license on the included trash compactor monster. The cannons so far have been made using plastic card and I still need to add more details to them, the semi circle section will be done using some small party plates I have and the foam circles are for mounting them.

Ron"

Wow. Wow. Wow! Can you tell I am a little bit excited by this. Ron just does some astounding work.

Coruscant Cantina Customs gets her kit-bash on for the latest challenge...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 25 2017
"This is my first entry in the custom Kitbash contest. I haven't posted in quite a while! This is supposed to be a Twi'lek spacer/ mercenary for hire. I haven't thought of a name for her yet.

Head: Cesi Eirriss
Body: The Black Series Toryn Farr
Hands: Cato Parasitti
Pilot harness: fodder bin, from some x-wing pilot figure
Knives: How to Train Your Dragon figure (character unknown)

I found a balljoint in my fodder box that fit Cesi's head and glued that on the Toryn body with super glue. The hands were boil-and-popped from cato onto Toryn's wrists. The pilot harness is currently attatched with a clear rubberband because I want it to be removable."

Pretty awesome custom and recipe if you ask me. Such great customs for this latest challenge!

Fiala Fernbrugg shares a new TIE...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 25 2017
"TIE TRI-FIGHTER (CLUTCH)

The Tri-fighter, known colloquially by both its users and targets as the Clutch, was an "Ugly" starfighter used by Moff Leonia Tavira and her gang of pirates, the Invids.
The Clutch consisted of a TIE/LN starfighter ball cockpit and ion engines and three triangular fins set 120° apart with one fin above the cockpit and two below.
[wookieepedia: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Clutch_(fighter)

I used a Revell TIE Interceptor model kit for the custom. The engine part behind the ball cockpit is from an old space station MIR model kit.
I used mainly Tamiya spray colours and Revell enamel colours. One flaw of the older Revell Star Wars model kits is the absence of a display stand. I made a simple display stand with nut wood and 1mm wire.
It was a lot of work to cut out the wings and all the other parts but all in all a nice custom project.
I hope you like it."

The figure's are from Mezco and are awesome and are 1:12/6" scale, The captain's chair is from Diamond Select is perfect and the floor and helm/navigation are made so far using foam board.

JDeck reviews the DC Icons Aquaman...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 25 2017
"I got a DC ICONS Aquaman today. Like I've said before, I'm not a big comic guy, but some things I like, Aquaman being one. I remember watching the cartoon show as a kid, so when I came across this, I had to have it.

It was released this same time last year in the DC collectables icons series. Aquaman is patterned after the Legend of Aquaman from the late 80's which is a slight update of the classic Aquaman. It is approximately 6 inches tall l. Same articulation you'd find with The Black series. Ball head, ball swivel shoulders, swivel jointed wrists. Swivel upper arms. Double jointed knees and elbows. Rocker ankles. Ball hinge hips. Double jointed abs, not a whole lot of movement on the upper.

Accessories 3 sets of hands; 2x fists, 2x grip hands, 2x open relaxed hands. Alternate head, with sonar telepathy wave effect,(pretty cool). And he comes with his Trident, spear."

Ron Hembling is back with a Commander Wolffe...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 23 2017
"Hi All,

This figure is a commission piece of Commander Wolffe.

Recipe

Wolffe - is from Bandai and built straight out of the box and the aiming sight on his helmet is a piece of plastic thin rod with the main aiming sight from Hasbro Boba Fett.

The Karma is from the Bandai Shoretrooper cut to size, the holsters are from the Bandai Boba Fett cut and sanded. The pistols are from the Bandai Stormtrooper kit cut down and then the scopes were cut to use as muzzles. The patterns were drawn by head using a led pencil and then painted.

Base - the base is from the Han Solo/Chewbacca display I did a few months back.

Ron"

-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 23 2017
"From The Files Of Joh Kolton II:

"Vinz Strikko was recruited to the New Republic Military after we liberated him and several other Imperial detainees from the prison colony on Penth. He was a convicted of breaking into several wealthy Imperial citizens' homes and making off with thousands of credits and valuables. During his crime spree, he graduated from thief to murderer after he slit the throats of the proper owners of some items he was in the process of stealing when they came home unexpectedly. He was sentenced to life in prison and killed several of his fellow inmates and even a dozen Imperial Guards at the facility. He is an expert at infiltration and disabling security systems, a task that we now utilize his particular set of skills for on our missions against the Empire. During our raid on Penth, Strikko assisted our extraction team by stabbing several Imperial Guards and a prison shuttle pilot capturing the craft for our escape. Strikko has pledged to turn over a new leaf and only steal from and stab servants of the Empire. During our missions, Strikko can get us past any lock and inside any building or bunker unseen. If we are seen, Strikko can get his blade under or between any kind of body armor or across any throat..."

Next up is a different kind of figure...An amalgam of Star Wars and GI Joe, this tactical Mando was based off of artwork the customer provided for reference...I think he turned out really cool and he was fun to make!"

"The swamp is my world. It is who I am; it is what I am. I was once a man. I know the evil men do. Do not bring your evil here, I warn you. Beware the wrath of Swamp Thing."

I finished the Swamp Thing. I was going for a mid summer look. I added some diorama plants, from army painter and Silflor. I used woodland scenics fine turf and pastel chalk for the moss. Thats about it. It was a real fun project, and it turned out better than I thought it would. It still needs a base of some kind, because its pretty fragile, thats why I didn't bother with the articulation."

I am really liking this Swamp Thing Arc that JDeck is on now. Very cool and great looking figure.

Standing at 7 inches, he is the proper height for a Munn species figure...As always, I appreciate everyone taking the time to have a look at my work and appreciate the feedback!"

Wow, now that is one figure I would buy if it were on the pegs!

It is nice to see him back!

Ron Hembling is back with an Indy Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, June 21 2017
"Hi All,

I can't remember the last time I built a indy dio/display so here is a new one I just completed this morning.

Recipe.

Indy - The body I got from ebay and the head and fedora I got from a mate from the Sideshow toys indy forum. The shirt is from the Sideshow Indy figure and the boots are from the Hasbro talking indy.

The pants, jacket, pants belt, bag and holster belt are from Hot toys Indy, the holster is scratch built as is the whip. The relic in his right hand is a cast I got from a mate in US.

Base - Is balsa wood and High density blue foam just cut out and glued together. Once the peices were dry I then used a led pencil and drew in the stone floor and a piece of sand stone was used to give the foam a more stone look to it.

The stone column is made from High density blue foam and each stone was cut out and then as per the floor I used a piece of sand stone to make it look like real stone.

The ground work was built up using spakfilla and sand and once dry I then covered that with a mix of sand/dirt/static grass/thin sticks/ground up leaves/lichen moss and this was glued over the spakfilla/sand mix.

Once the ground work was dry I then painted it with Vallejo Chocolate Brown and once dry I used plants fro Joe Fix Studio's and from the craft store. The small grass tufts are from Army Painter and the vines are dried out weeds I got from the garden and the leaves attached to them are fishtank plants.

The diorama and figure were painted and weathered using Vallejo Piants.

Ron"

It has been awhile since I have seen Ron do an IJ Dio. I like it!

No Boom Boom Soul Brother gets his kit-bash on a fifth time for the latest challenge...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, June 16 2017
"The first figure is the commanding officer of the mercenary commando team I created elsewhere. He is basically Sergeant Bric. I used the Pons Limbic head instead, and replaced his hands with Pre-Vizla's. I then used the legs and waist from the Mandalorian warrior that came with the speeder bike, and glued Bric's boots onto them. I added a large, removable thermal detonator from a Stormtrooper to his belt, and gave him one of Embo's daggers in a black paper sheath. I also gave him the Arc Trooper Westar M5 rifle, modified with a power pack from a droid blaster."

Now that is one nice recipe. I still have so many great kit-bash recipes to share. More prizes are going out too! Stay tuned.

No Boom Boom Soul Brother gets his kit-bash on a fourth time for the latest challenge...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 15 2017
"The second figure is the team medic from that mercenary commando team. I envisioned him as an old ex-Clone soldier. The base figure is of the Pursuit of Cobra Recondo. I kept his vest and glued a GI Joe Retaliation Trooper holster to it and stuck Captain Rex's Clone Wars pistol in it. I then took the GI Joe Trooper's knife and sheath and glued it to the figure's thigh. I took some old soldier fodder figure ammo pouches and glued them to his other thigh, and included a removable Clone Wars-era thermal detonator to it. I took a Black Series Clone soldier's belt and glued it to the figure's waist, and glued the belt slot from a Sandtrooper to the back."

and that is just the start of this great recipe. New prize winners were also announced yesterday!

The head, lower legs, and forearms are all from the Vintage Bossk figure. I don't remember where the belt is from, but the buckle and holster are from the animated Boba Fett figure. The blaster is from Jango Fett, and the comlink is a lightsaber cut in half."

I kept its stock and grip, but added one of Chewbacca's standard bowcasters to serve as the barrel and receiver. I glued a black piece of string to the round balls on either end of the "prongs." I built him a belt out of fodder pieces, and added cut strips of Chewbacca's bandolier to his leg to serve as extra ammo."

That is just the start of the great recipe for this figure. Scroll around as you can see the first three prize winners who packages are getting mailed out this morning.

JDeck starts a Swamp Thing Custom Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, June 13 2017
"I started a figure, the cool thing about this figure is it's also a diorama. I'm talking about Swamp Thing! A week or two ago I ran across a retro TV station that was airing the USA network Swamp Thing. I had completely forgotten how awesome ole swampy was. I looked around the internet and I couldn't find a figure that I liked. Mostly the new 52 version. I wanted the Alan Moore style. So I thought how hard can it be to make my own."

"Here are some close-ups of the sculpting work for my 6" Crimson Jack. Most of the work is done using Sculpey. The jet pack has elements of Aves Fixit sculpt. The idea here is an update for the old Marvel character from the 70's. Space helmet and jet pack are for pillaging disabled star ships. The pirates will sometimes jump into space and cut through the hull of a ship. The gun belt is made from "fun foam" from the craft store. It works great!"

What's a courtyard (even an abandoned one) without plants? Still needs some "fluffing", but there are 2 more coming. 100% scratch built."

It is good to challenge yourself!

More progress in Gotham for Panther...

"The pavement\sidewalk, I sanded down the top shinny layer of card off to leave the roof imperfections of underneath. Taking another sheet of board, it was glued to the underneath of the pavement to create a second, stronger layer.

The aim of tonight was to test out magnetic strip for a commission I've been asked to. Once the pavement had dried and I had finished the sanding, I glued a strip of magnetic tape to the underside of the wall and then another strip to the pavement and ta-da I have a removable freestanding wall to act as an alleyway or remove it for close up action shots like Batman scaling the wall."

"Yesterday I started spackling the main archway wall section. It was actually dry enough to sand today.

Also last night I colored the floor sections. I originally was going to wait and do everything at once, but I want the floor to be a different shade than the walls. First coat was Woodland Scenics concrete earth color watercolor. Second WS concrete and WS Raw Umber mix. Third coat WS concrete and WS burnt umber mix. This is why I'm taking the extra time to spackle everything. The seams are blended and it takes the watercolors perfectly."

It is really taking shape now!

Panther is working on windows in Gotham...

"Today I finally fitted the last window into place and put its frame on. After recently purchasing a mouse sander, I went over the floors making them even. I also sanded the counter, this just needs to be either stained or painted.

Tonight I started working on the surrounding area to the building. Cutting a single piece of foam board I have carved the surrounding area with 1"X1" squares for paving stones. Next job with this is to sand down the top layer before spraying. I might cut out the flagged area to the right side and replace it with a single piece of board for the alleyway."

It is sure looking great to me.

I'm trying to design it so that most of the missile launcher accessories that come with the Rogue One figures can fit on it.

I deliberately designed this to be a toy-ish, asking hypothetically, if Hasbro made a U-wing at 1:18 scale, what play elements might they include in it? Now you can put those action figure missile accessories to good use!"

-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, June 4 2017
"Summer has begun and some time is finally available. As the wife and kids sleep, daddy can be a kid again.

So, pictured here is the only 6 inch custom I plan on doing. Too expensive but I had to do it. I took a Jango Fett figure, a Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, head, added a kama and some paint. I've since added a couple of other things but this figure is in my office at work, go figure (no pun intended). I'll sneak over and take a pic or two later."

His backstory on this character is pretty good too and you can read that when you click on through.

Rezakai is back with new fan fiction!

"Lieutenant Sylvon sat in a small chair holding her head up by propping her arm against a display screen on a table in front of her. She was starting to drift asleep when she heard the moans of one of her captives as he started to stir awake. Sylvon smiled and stood up standing a little over a meter from a pair of medical beds containing the two other men. The room was cast in total darkness except for the light of one of the headlamps laying on the ground that until some hours ago was attached to the helm of one of the sleeping men."

Thats just the first paragraph. Go enjoy the new chapter of the Last Orders of Captain Kai!

Mr. Fleurs gets his kit-bash on for the latest challenge...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 1 2017
"Hello, everyone. I've just joined the forum, and I wanted to share this quick custom I made recently.

Rodian Smuggler

The recipe is quite simple:
TFA Finn's Jacket and Arms.
TFA Han Solo Blaster and Belt.
ANH Greedo Body, head and hands.

I just boiled and popped everything. The arms and hands of Finn and Greedo so I could use the jacket sleeves, and heated Han's belt to remove it from the leg peghole where it's attached. After that, the assembly was easy, putting Finn's jacket and arms on Greedo's body and pulled the belt up to fix it in his waist."

Now that turned into one great kit-bash! Click through to see the rules and prizes and then get your own kit-bash on!

Ron Hembling is back with new Rogue One work...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 1 2017
"Hi All,

Completed this one this morning.

I can't take credit for the paint scheme on this one I have to thank Herman Guerrero from the Bandai Star Wars FB page for that. When I saw that he did this paint scheme to his I had to do one, cheers Herman for the inpsiration.

Recipe

Trooper - is the death trooper from Bandai and it was painted and weathered using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

Base - is just a generic base that I have kept and it was made using foam and straws for the pipes. The wall and sand were done using spakfilla.

Ron"

It sure looks tough to me!

Echo Six shows us a Mouse Droid...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 1 2017
"Next is the giant mouse droid seen during the Emperor's arrival aboard the DSII in ROTJ. The tracked giant mouse (rat?) droid only has one POA, the ball-jointed head. (My attempt to incorporate concealed wheels similar to the scanning crew bottom box fizzled...For now.) The wheeled version has seven POA, at least by EE exclusive astromech standards – A ball-jointed head and six rolling wheels."

He introduced himself yesterday with a great Bantha Droid and seeing this one as well as how he put it together is great. What a great intro!

Panther has more fun in Gotham...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, June 1 2017
"Today I have done a little more work on the building. I started by going over the brick work with a black wash. Then painting the rooftop doorway grey, then a black wash. For the door a coat of burgundy with both a black and a white wash, I have ordered a 1:12 door handle for it. The air con unit, I gave it a white coat, then a black wash, finished off with a gentle white wash to smooth out the black, then glued both onto the roof.

The desk I have added a front and sides to it, sanded it down and a waiting to be stained.

I decided to add the personal touch to this building and added my logo to it, the building is now the Gotham branch of Richard's Creative Workshop.

I have started to measure up for the groundfloor windows and door, once they are fitted, then on to the street and side.

It's slowly starting to come together!"

I would say so. Just in time for some Wonder Woman Movie Shots!
