"Placing the sofa around the lair, I've realized I need to trim an inch off the sofa so it doesn't look to fill the room as much as it does now.
I cut a couple of lengths of pipe which will run the length of each wall, as you can see they are only resting on top while finish off painting the walls before attaching them."
I can see them eating pizza off that new sofa already!

Yesterday, I had time to paint the second of my Custom Destroyer Droids. And today I got time to take and upload pictures.
It took me about 4 hours to spray-paint (without time for the primer to dry) and paint the Droideka.

I even got two paints from vallejo and Revell and started to mix the acrylic paints in beige/sand/tan - still no satisfiying result...

"Sprayed the ground with a light yellow, the paving and walls with a light blue/grey. While they were drying I took a wire brush to the small floor behind the horizontal wall. Going with the grain of the foam and scoring it to look like worn floorboards. Shade with Agrax Earth shade and airbrushed with a water down black acrylic.
All stone work was then dry brushed with Longbeard Grey. When it had dried grass tufts and moss where applied on the tree and in places on the diorama."
Ah, sure brings me back to some good ole days of watching MOTU when I got home from school. Looks great.

"Hi All,
8TH SS Cavalry Division, Florian Geyer - Taking Fire 1:35.
Recipe
Figures/Horses - the upper body of the figures and equipment are from Master Box # 3583 and the lower legs are from Tamiya # 35053. The horses are from Master box 3550 and the saddle and roll on the back are from Tamiya #35053.
The reins and slings were made by painting paper and then cutting to width and length and gluing into place. The figures and horses were painted and weathered using Vallejo.
Base - is made using balsa wood cut to size and glued together, the soil is a mix of spakfilla and sand with Vallejo's medium brown and Beige Brown mixed in and then applied to the base. The grass tufts are from Army Painter and the shrubs are from my local hobby shop.

"Bob Hudsol, ( Battle of Yavin) , this was tough sculpt all the way round. Head, Torso, Goan, and upper legs all had to be handsculpted and casted. Lower legs are from fixer from the comic pak, arms from Dr. Henry Jones from the Indiana Jones figure line up, the jacket is from captain Antilles. Good to have this one behind me..."
It sounds like a lot of work, but wow you sure can't argue with his results. It is just spot on.

First is Thul Fain. He's an old fat guy with a dishrag on his head, allegedly seen in Jabba's Palace. Thrilling concept for an action figure, I know.

"I created a stone plinth for the 200x Sword of Power to stand in and to be freely seated in the corner. Painted with Mechanicus Standard Grey and then edged with Longbeard Grey, the sword was embedded into the stone."

"I skipped the part about drilling out the bumper holes for the rod.
I plan to revisit the stingray using this rod in a similar way.
The one shot is from the top showing the rod ends lining up in front of the led chips. I still think I could of used white but these are red.
I did get it successfully tested and running last night but had the motor wired backwards and had to switch that around. The taillights work magnificently but I forgot to take a shot."

I think Tony was fairly impressed.
Of course I have been singing this action figure company's praises for awhile now. Their dedication to sculpt, articulation, and paint work has to have them in the top tier of all action figure companies folks.

"A couple of days ago I filled the small trench with PVA glue, when it dried I had created film over the trench which meant I could then apply more PVA glue over the top. The thickness of the dried glue, gave the impression of fluid running the length of the trench, I painted over it using Games Workshops Nurgle’s rot. I poured PVA into the small waste pipe above the trench, painting it again with Nurgle’s rot once it had dried. I proceeded to apply the paint also to areas on both walkways and the small waste pipe.
There are some final little touches to be done and then this will be completed."

"I turned my attention to the water, using Games Workshops Nurgle’s Rot (commonly known as snot in pot) painted ripples onto the board. I laid the water sheet on top and glued it into place. I dry brushed screaming skull over the water sheets highlighting the ripples."

"With the build completed, it is time to start painting. The base coat for the walls and floor were applied using a watered done mixture of white/black and touch of blue, applied using a sponge. The base I used watered down mixture of blue/white, once this had dried I added Burnt Umber into the mix and dabbed into the area where the water runs trough the center."
And that is just with the Sewer Dio he was working on. He also has updates going on with two of his MOTU Dioramas too.

"The Lanard Primal Clash figures were shared a month or so ago on the Facebook page. I picked up the Woolly Mammoth yesterday and thought a snow picture might be most appropriate. I put a tank trooper on him (a mammoth could count as a tank - right?) so you can get a sense of scale."

"For the base I made three curved steps leading towards the wall, then curved the corners. A single pillar created and fitted into the corner. With the external being based upon the 80’s toy, I’ve put in a small window for the Sorceress to view out of. Stone slabs have been etched into the floor and steps."

"Here is another Star Wars custom ADMIRAL SCREED figure I've made. This figure is 1:18 scale for use with other 3.75" action figures. This super articulated poseable custom figure features a custom resin cast head that is made by me and painted by me. This version is Admiral Screed without his heavy trenchcoat and gear. This character appears in the Star Wars DROIDS animated series."

"Clone Commander Vaks - 607th Legion-
This custom figure took me a little longer than 5 minutes. I also did a lot of research in advance, again. Most of the research went into playing the mod for SWBFII by Xavious. I dont share direct links on here, but can find this map pack on forums such as moddb.
Commander Vaks is one of my favourite Clone Commanders and characters to play in the custom Battlefront mods. One reason is the design, the other reason is his gun! It's just desperately overpowered. But to stay fair, the Seperatist forces have been lethally modified, too!"
He has just done a phenomenal job on the research and this building this great custom using a Galactic Marine.

"Using my rotary tool I sanded the inside of the round doorway, tidied up the edges of the overall piece. To attach the central column to the back wall using small magnets placed along the edges and married to the magnets on the back wall. I purchased a small ladder made from bolsa wood, I thought it would be ideal for this piece."

"Hi All,
Recipe.
Figures - are from Master Box and is kit #3525 and they have been painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.
The Ausf H - is from Academy and is kit #13223 and has been painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints. The dry mud was done using a mix of spakfilla/sand and paint.
Base - is thick foam and the ground work is a mix of spakfilla/sand and paint. The grass tufts are a mix of Army Painter and MiniNatur and the bulkier looking shrubs are from my local gaming store.
The tall grass is from MiniNatur and are actually vines but I cut some off and folded them in half to give them a thicker feel to them.

"While the rest of America has been in a deep freeze for days, we finally got our first snow of the winter yesterday and today where I live. So in honor of the snow I had to take a shot of the Arctic Mando I posted some months ago in the snow.
Finally, a new Jedi to add to the fold. Tanthor Sol, a Hiitian Jedi (I always liked the idea of the Hiitians, the first being Kar Yang a bounty hunter from the Guri comics, but I thought the character design too top heavy, so I adapted it a bit - let's call it a sub-species):
He's just a repainted GL movie Tomar Re with homemade tunic and belt and robe from the fodder bin. I think I'll work on articulating him next."
I am hearing snow every day next week now so it looks like more winter fun.

I stopped by Ollies Bargain Outlet yesterday and found these Megablocks figures. I grabbed two boxes of 4 figures with a mess of greebles for $9.99 each.
These offer the possiblity of superarticulating Aliens of short stature like Jawas, Ewoks and Aleenas.
I've used them to make an SA 3.75 Rocket Raccoon and Wam Blam Lufba. Yoda next?"

"Hoth Rebel Deck Officer Rey, the body is a Hoth Rebel trooper, the Hoth use the same head , 90 percent of hat had to be sculpted including the scarf. The vizor come from Han Hoth vc , modified the lenses ,with which came from hobby lobby, with gallery glass window color."

"As I mentioned before with the other Imperial in Trenchcoat I made, this costume is one of my absolute favorites. I decided to make another officer, but this time with his coat opened. I had originally planned to make a body for this, but decided a kitbash was easier to do. I also had enough time to this one, unlike a custom I'd have to paint..."

"I was pleased with the way the chroming came out. Time will tell how it holds up. I used a brush on acrylic gloss finish to seal without too much loss to the shine."
He goes on to tell us this same company does make a gold, but it doesn't give as good of a result as the chrome.
