#Buildingtoysformyson Freightship "Aeolus Arnasa"
« on: August 30, 2015, 10:57:25 PM »
The last period I mostly build figures for the #Buildingtoysformyson project. Small stuff, quick builds, and expending my sons wooden galaxy rapidly.
But now it's time to go for a bigger build.
I like the small freighter spaceships like the Millennium Falcon very much. So I thought why not make one of my own?

Also I thought maybe it is nice to post some WIP pictures on this forum.
So here is the first.

The ship is going to look something like the Millennium Falcon, but with my own design in it...
Hope you guys like the shape...

Hope to post some more pictures soon

Update:

Monday I applied the first covering panels and started on the interior outlining:

Yesterday the progress was big :)
I've finished building the biggest part on the top outside and on the inside.
The belly of the freighter is still flat. I don't like that so the next few days I will spent thinking on how to solve that

Thank you for the front page position!
I've already started on the underside, and it's going to be nothing like the Millennium Falcon. I'll try to post a new update tomorow

I think that I'm done building the freighter... it's now up to painting.
There will be a lot more paneling and shapes added to the freighter, but this will be done by painting it.

On the underside I made a big area filled with magnets. These are for cargo hanging below het ship...

I'm going to make more cargo containers to hang below the ship, but my focus for now is first to paint the ship.
For now the onboard cargo must do...

Awesome job once again! I like the compartments and stowage. I bet your son can't wait for you to finish.

The first layer of paint is on the outside of the ship.

No problem! Thank you for the front page and the nice words there.

The ship is now done! It did not end up exactly like I wanted it to be, but I'm satisfied with the end result.
I call it "Aeolus Arnasa"
Here are the final pictures!

The gun at the top can rotate

Of course the roof can come of to play inside the ship.
There is room for 2 persons and a R2 droid charging dock

In the rear section is the cargo bay, also here can the roof come of.

A nice detail idea of my son himself, a removable cargo door!

The complete ship without its roofs

If there is no more space to store goods in the cargo bay, the goods can come along below the ship

And of course there is a crew onboard of this ship:

Hope you guy like it.

While posting these pictures on Twitter I realized that I never shared the S.T.A.P. in the background, so here are also some pictures of that one:
