Hi All,

New Rogue One dio 1:144 scale.

U-wing - is from Bandai and is the 1/144 scale and built straight out of the box. I painted and weathered it using Vallejo paints.

Figures - the rebel troopers are from PEGASUS and are U.S Modern troops, they were in a desert cam and I just used Vallejo paints to repaint them.

The Stormtroopers are from the old AMT Hoth set and I did some sanding to remove the karma's and the back of the helmets and they were painted using Vallejo paints and then given a light wash of matt black.

Base - is from local hardware shop and the sande is a mix of spakfill/sand/Vallejo Iraqui Sand/PVA glue. The palm tree's I got from a bucket of pirates which had all these palm tree's so I removed the palms and the cut the trucks off the bases and then wrapped them in tissue paper and applied watered down PVA glue.

Once the tisse was dry I removed all the palms from the O-ring they were attached to and repainted them, I then painted the trunks and glued the palms back on to the truncks.

The grass tufts are from Army Painter and were perfect for this scale to simulate tall grass, the bushes are from Woodland Scenics and pulled apart and glued in place.

The patches of water left over by the high tide was done using Woodland Scenics and I added a little Vallejo Beige brown to the water once it was poured.

Wow, Ron there's is really NO challenge too big for you! Although it's really hard (if not impossible) to find suitable miniatures in 1/144 scale you just made it! As far as I know there are no Star Wars miniatures in that scale, yet. But thinking about it I would probably take Hasbro's Command figures and repaint them. Some of them might be close to that scale...

I really like the concept of the U-Wing and the setting on Scarif with all the action taking place on and around the island...this is another masterpiece of yours! I especially like the palm trees and the other plants surrouding them (Woodland scenics I suppose?). Excellent work, mate!

Thanks heaps Philipp and the command figures are 1:35 scale unless they have put out 1:144 scale which would be very cool.

The plants around the palms are Woodland Scenics and you can never go wrong with them when doing dios. Years ago 1:144 scale figures weren't available but now there is multiple choices yo choose from.

Uh, non existent at this point. I am hoping things slow down over the winter so I can start that project. It is just so daunting right now I am having a heck of a time getting started.

Well, 1/35 is also a great scale, there're so many pictures of painted Command figures online...I might try that, too. Hm, I thought there were also smaller figures included with the Command sets for example the AT-TE...to be 1/144 scale they would have to be 1,25 cm/0.49" tall right?
I used to build tanks in 1/72 scale and the figures for those are 2,5cm/0.98" tall...maybe we'll see some Star Wars figures in that scale some day...

Yeah I know what you mean mate, I can build my model in the garage anytime I want but I need to clear it all out first after the move but I haven't been motivated to LOL. My kids are on xmas holidays as of the 29th of Nov I'll get the clearing done then as I will have helpers then lol.

Yeah the figures are great to paint up I have done a few dio's with them and yeah your right mate there are the vehicles which I totally forgot about and some of them are 1/144 scale. I hope they do make SW figures in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/35 as you need figures in dios.

Hi All,

I took a few days off after the last dio build and have been playing Star Wars BF2 and have been really enjoying it. So saying that I decided I would start a 1:12 build of the Imperial Rocket Trooper from SW BF2.

I have used a Bandai Storm Trooper and covered the joints with black stockings and added the raised part in the middle of the helmet using plastic card and putty.

The rifle is a mix of Hasbro's BS Storm Trooper and Sandtrooper weapons eith parts also used from Bandai weapons and plastic card.

The rocket launcher so far is made using plastic tube and plastic strips and the trigger is is from a Bandai E-11 blaster and the tubes and chest controls are from the Hasbro BS Tie Pilot.

The base I'll be doing is a Tatooine one as that is the only time I play the Rocket Trooper as there is so many roof tops in the new game to hide on.
