Hi All,

Next dio is 1:72 Poe's X-wing, I have painted and weathered it and just need to some fine details and weathering. The dio I'm doing for this X-wing is when he's flying over the water in TFA.

I have started on the base, I just need to let the foam board dry before I start doing the water.

Hi All,

I have started the water and the first step was to get a photo frame and take out the glass and then cut out a piece of foam board and insert it and then re-attache the board.

Once the foam and back board are on and secured use PVA glue and go around the inside of the frame. When the PVA glue has dried get spakfilla or plaster and spread it across the foam board.

Don't worry the foam won't warp as the as it is between the frame and back board and also the glue will hold it in place.

Once you have the spakfilla or plaster spread out let it start to dry and with a teaspoon lightly wet it and start swooping it over the spakfill or plaster to simulate waves. Once you have done this let it the plaster dry completely which will take 5 hrs and the spakfilla will take about 7 hrs to completely dry.

NOTE - if you start to paint over the spakfilla before it completely dries the paint will start to break down the spakfilla and start turning into a paste again.

Next - painting the water.

Ron

Hi All,

More progress on the water base for Poes' X-wing.

Pic 1 - I painted the base using Vallejo's Medium Olive.

Pic 2 - Once dry I gave three washes of Vallejo's Dark Blue.

Pic 3 - Once the wash was dry I then dry brushed the base with Vallejo's Foundation White for the waves.

Pic 4 - I used Woodlad Scenics Realistic Water and poured it over the base, this will take about 8-10 hours to dry clear and shrink a little.

Pic 5 - is what the Realistic Water looks like fir those that have never used it.

Hi All,

Firstly I would like to thank the person that sent me two of the little mini Falcon's from Bandai. Thanks heaps I really appreciate it and please let me know who you are.

Inbetween painting the Poe's X-wing base I decided to make a mini Falcon from Bandai which took me about 1.5 hours all up.

The kit is straight from the box and it is an amazing piece to say the least the details on it are stunning, way to go Bandai.

I used the stickers from the kits and once they were all on I went over each one with a pair of pointy sweezers. Once that was done I used model glue and went over each one to blend in the stickers to the model.

The model was painted and weathered using Vallejo paints.
