I can't get enough of your Sandtroopers.
The weathering is fantastic.
I hope I can get my hands on one of those Bandai figures one day. They are pretty hard to get here in austria.

Thanks heaps mate and they are awesome kits and have you tried TMD website http://www.tokyomodeldetective.com/ Darren sells them in Japanese YEN and they are cheap and I get all my kits from him.

Nice work on the Falcon and your latest Sandtrooper! The diorama bases are always at least as incredible as your customs themselves! So much excellence to look at...seeing the falcon passing the asteroids makes me even more looking forward to watching SOLO...

Thanks for sharing, Ron!

Hi All,

Just completed this small dio of Vader's Tie Advanced fighter and Luke's X-Wing during the trench run in Star Wars A New Hope and I'll have the usual pics up tomorrow.

The ships are 1:144 scale and have been built straight out of the box and Vader's fighter was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.

Luke's fighter has had the stickers attached to it and then I used Mirco Sol to soften and conform to the details on the wings. Once the Mirco Sol was dry I then painted the thrusters, top section and R2-D2 with Vallejo Paints and then gave it a wash of watered down matt black.

The base is a picture frame which has had the plastic cover and removed and the back board was glued in place. I then used foam board to level the front section off and also glued that in place.

The Death Star back drop was found on the net and then printed off and glued on the foam board and the writing was done using photoshop. The Fighters were given thin clear rod which were glued in place once the holes were drilled out and then they were attached to the back board.

I did the picture frame dio as you can have it sitting on your desk or shelf and if you don't have the room you can attach it to the wall.

That is a great idea! I haven't attempted to paint my 1/144 kits, it seems like tedious work. Your's look flawless. Great work!

Hi All,

After a friend on my model groups page pointed out that the tiles were consistant which I didn't even notice and once I did it was really bugging me so I found some better high res images and re-did the back drop.

What a cool way to make a Trench Run Dio. Love how you can display it both ways. Off to share Ron. You never cease to amaze bud.

Thanks heaps Shawn and another bonus is that it's cheap as well and trying to get DS tiles is a real pain.

Sorry for my late comment.
What an awesome idea for a Trench Run dio.
I think I'll try that with a Revell model myself.
Thank you for your inspiring work.

I could see Ron doing all of the trench run scenes in this style. Would it be cool to see these on the wall in the order they happened; kind of like a diorama timeline of the Trench battle.
