looking really good. Time to get some of this shared on the pages. I did see a six inch scale Oola somewhere, I just can't remember.

Thanks Tamer for the FP spot. I've got a long ways to go yet. After I saw TBS Slave Leia, I thought instead of re working the entire figure to make it a little better, why not make an Oola custom. I'm just surprised its not a common customization. I'm sure I'm not the only one but I have only seen 3.75", 12" and a Barbie conversion, not sure what scale that is.

Alright this'll be my last daily update for a while, if not it'll be like watching grass grow. I just wanted to show folks how my 6" Jawa concept figure is coming. I coated him in latex added the 3.75" robe and coated it again. That way he has some thickness so when I put on the 6" robe it'll sort of stick and flow better. Also the head is a cotton ball soaked in latex with the LEDs run through. His arms are fully posable due to the wire, foam and latex, construction.  It'll be another 3 weeks before the robe comes in, so I just need to shorten the wires attach the battery so it will all stay under the new robe. I'll raise the forehead as needed for the hood.

Thanks bud I've been playing with the idea of utilizing Boushh Leia to build a background skiff guard since she has such a mannish stature

Thanks Tamer, I like how he's turning out. Can't wait for that robe, he'll be awesome.

I made more progress on 6" Oola. I sculpted the head tentacles from epoxy. I experimented with latex because i thought it would be cool to have her tentacles posable, but it didn't work out. It was worth a shot. I also finished most of the Dais. I took the blue foam and covered it with Spackle then sanded it down. After doing that a few times I used woodland scenics watercolors to paint it. Instead of the cyclopse pulls I used dollhouse brass lion head doorknockers turned upside down. Big shot out to Bewize for the idea of dollhouse pillows, I didn't realize dollhouse miniatures were 1/12, its good to know. Next I'll work on the background barbeque area.

Thank you. I'm not completely satisfied with the head. My reference pics were from the special edition version, it was bigger than the original. It looked good when I was building it but when I placed it on her body it seemed large. By the time its all finished I'll rebuild it, but for now I'll press on.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures. Jabba's BBQ. PT. 1
« Reply #175 on: July 15, 2015, 07:13:28 PM »
I started Jabba's BBQ. Just made the frame from.030" styrene, I like .030" it cuts easy and is pretty rigid. I'll add the ornate details and rotisserie next. The foam architecture is temporary mockup, just trying to get a basic shape to work with. The main thing is getting those steps done right.

Worked on the rotisserie a little more using parts from my greeble collection. I painted it brown to see how it looks so far. Not too shabby. I built the front facea just need to decorate it somehow, I'll use a combination of clay and wire to make the designs

I got most of Jabba's BBQ done. I could do a lot more but how much time do I put into a background piece. I think it looks pretty good, better than I expected anyway. I do need to add the rotisserie drive belt and some other things.

Thanks for the moral support, I need all I can get. I still have a long way to go. Once the walls and lighting are up it'll be cool looking, but first I have a whole laundry list of little things that need to done. You know how it is building a dio in 6" scale, tons of details. Baby steps.
