How did you make the base? Are those lights in the bottom of it? Do tell. Off to share. I am glad to hear you will be making another. I have always loved the Boba with Stormtroopers and the pushing of Carbo Han scene.

First off thank you Tamer for the FP. I made the dio by first mocking up the walls with blue foam then I covered the walls with .003" styrene sheets. The panelled wall is made of .006" styrene that I cut and sanded, then I placed a painted .003" sheet in back and cut holes for the instrument panels. I made the instrument panels out of computer chip parts, and model kit parts that I glued to a piece of cardboard. Then I ran my LEDs through holes cut into the cardboard. Pretty simple stuff. Glad you like it.
Boba pushing Han in carbonite through Bespin is one I've been thinking about. I'll have to use stormtroopers instead of Bespin guards but it'll be better that way.

Re: JDeck's dios & figures. 6" concept Boba Fett/Bespin dio.
« Reply #108 on: June 14, 2015, 05:58:11 AM »
Here is a sneak peak into the idea for my next Bespin dio. Inspired by the Mcquarrie concept art of Bespin, its a little more of an ornate style art deco than in the movie. I tried a non invasive way of adding his poncho without glue, but its not working. I'll probably end up using magnets and a different material. This Boba was a gift from my brother when it was really hard to find, but he gave me carte blanche to do what I do.
But first I want to do a Yoda/Dagobah dio. With the limited articulation of the 6" Yoda I'll do the scene where he lifts the X-wing. I'll resolve Yoda's eye problem by closing them so it'll be a static figure with puttied joints. So stay tuned for that.

Begun the Dagobah diorama I have.
I'm going to build this Dagobah dio depicting Yoda lifting Luke's X-wing. Obviously I started my base with blue foam. Tomorrow I'll make some "muck" using a mixture of real dirt, water, paint, woodland scenic turf and white glue. If I have time I'll work on the Gnarltree roots/trunk. So stick around for that.

Looks like you are off to a good start. Off to share.

I can remember my daughter being very young and loving that scene. She used her little arm to try and raise the Xwing herself. Its a great memory for me.

Finished, soon will I be. I made my muck from coffee grounds, woodland scenic fine turf, a bit of sand, a bit of reptile moss, mixed with water and white glue. The tree was made from aluminum foil armatures covered with a tissue paper mache. I just need to paint it  add a little ground work meybey some more vines and that'll do it.

Finished it is. No more work will this require.
Its pretty much done its still really wet, my base coat was brown then a coat of grey. Then when dry I used green oil paint and green pastel chalks with a black oil wash. I added more ground work, natural elements I found or got on eBay. Then the slimy moss/algae was made of cotton balls dipped in thinned paste then painted. Now I will start on the figure itself.

Thank you Tamer. The Bespin dios are cool but its fun making these natural environments. Dagobah is such a cool place. And Yoda still makes me laugh.

A few more pics in a different light after it dried. I also added his snake to the dio. I made a few other subtle changes that was to my liking.
