Thanks Tamer! I've been studying the original studio TIE bomber, I can recognize most of the greebles they used, and I have many of those parts. However studio scale is about 1/48 or so, and mine is 1/72, but I'm using those parts in different ways. As a matter of fact those pod tubes are from the same kit ILM used to make the Y-wing, but these are the smaller set. I would have pics, but I had to disassemble it to make some tweeks.

Kitbash TIE Bomber RX1. (Reconnaissance Bomber experimental)
« Reply #259 on: March 06, 2016, 01:28:23 PM »
I got some work done on my TIE Bomber.I straightened everything out and permanently glued the two pods together. Then I constructed the part that connects the wings to the pod, I was going to use the x1style but decided to get as close as possible to the real thing. I added a few greebles , some of which were used on the original model. I decided to make a tail gun turret on the rear of the cockpit pod, inspired by ww2 and FO SF TIE fighters, with a design resembling the Millennium Falcon turret. Now I just need to make the part that the bombs shoot out of, that hangs off the bottom.

Thanks again Tamer! Yup I'm just going to add a couple more pieces, sand it, wash it and paint 'er up. After this project I'm switching gears a little. I'm going to try my hand at some small scale resin model ships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I'm talking about the big corellian ships. So that's pretty exciting. I'll Step my game up a little.

Kitbashed TIE Bomber (Reconnaissance).
« Reply #263 on: March 09, 2016, 01:49:22 PM »
I painted my kitbashed TIE Bomber today. I used Tamiya Light Royal grey spray. I know TESB TIE Fighters/Bombers are blue, but I like the ANH grey. I'm not going to weather it Imperial ships are well maintained besides TIEs don't survive long enough to get dirty. All around I'm happy with the results. I wasn't real optimistic when I first started, but its not bad for a weeklong build. Its too bad manufacturers don't make a TIE bomber. Also its unfortunate the unlicenced manufacturers were stopped. But this will suit me fine for now.

Thanks again Tamer! I don't know what manufacturers thinking. they're all doing x-wing, Snowspeeder, TIE fighter, Falcon, I'd like some variety. Bandai was making a figure and a ship every month, now its either or, and this month nothing. If they ever ask me I have a long laundry list of kits they need to do. 1/72 B-wing, 1/72 A-wing,  1/48 or 1/72 T-16 skyhopper. 1/72 TIE Interceptor and Bomber. We really need small scale stuff like 1/1000 Tantive IV or 1/10000 Home One. The market is starved for quality big ships, and vehicles in general.

I got this awesome resin 1/2256 scale Nebulon B recently. The kit also comes with a CR90 corvette, and I also have a millennium Falcon and Medium Transport, from another kit. I'm also getting some x-wings Y-wings and gunship from Shapeways. My plan is to build an Empire Strikes Back ending display. My problem is I'd like to put lights in the Nebulon B but the other ships are too small to light, at least with my skill set. Its not impossible, but difficult. Would it look lame to have one ship lit and not the others? Its a tough decision, if I don't light the Frigate, it'll still be cool, but it won't have that WOW factor. I dunno, what do you guys think?
