Rebel Alliance LAAT.
« Reply #240 on: February 22, 2016, 06:09:10 PM »
I did some weathering to the LAAT. I didn't do a fantastic job, I've been laid up sick this whole weekend. I did create a little back story of how the Alliance was able to obtain a few of their LAATs. Keep in mind I've been feverish, but I've been watching a lot of ww2 in color and Star Wars Rebels.

The Low Altitude Assault Transport or LAAT, was officially decommissioned by the Empire in 7 BBY. The remaining fleet was sold to the Kuat driveyards to be stripped down, and recycled to fill the Empires order of the new All Terrain Scout Transport platform.
Alliance intelligence gathered that a large shipment of LAATs were being sent to a recycling facility on a remote middle rim planet called Varro. Although Varro had no Imperial presence the transport carrying the LAAT shipment was escorted by two Imperial Star Destroyers. The Alliance determined the best time to steal the transport was while it was landing and the escorts were still in orbit.
Selected to carry out this mission was an elite group of Pathfinder commandos lead by then Col. Crix Madine . While Madine’s commandos were stealing the ship the Bothan Spynet sent the escort destroyers a counterfeit distress signal, requesting their immediate response to a rebel attack on a nearby system. The escorts dispersed and the commandos were able to escape.
The mission was a success. However the Imperial propagandists brushed it off, claiming the rebels had merely stolen a garbage transport. Never the less, it was a great score for the Alliance, as well as a huge boost for morale. The individual resistance cells could now merge into a single army group, and deploy troops during a large scale assault.

Thanks bud! The preshadowing technique is great for very small scale but for this it just needed a little extra.

Thanks Tamer, yeah I'm better today, I went back to work everything is cool. I really have no idea what it was, never been that sick. I'll have another Alliance conversion soon.

Rebel Alliance AAT, Dantooine
« Reply #244 on: February 27, 2016, 08:05:23 PM »
I'm in the middle of a Rebel Alliance AAT diorama. I just repainted the Revell AAT, I didn't do anything to the mechanics of the vehicle. Im building this Dantooine grassland dio to go with it. I have to lay each grass tuft, so it'll take a while.

Thanks bud! I'm sure they would have. They wouldn't have been able to convince manufacturers to build them a fleet, because it would have been treason.

Thanks again Tamer. I think the AAT was the coolest prequel vehicle.

1/72 TIE Bomber MK.II. WIP.
« Reply #249 on: March 02, 2016, 06:50:59 PM »
I'm trying my hand on a kitbash TIE Bomber. I was fooling around today with some spaceship parts, and came up with a basic structure. I had the chance to buy a Fantastic Plastic tie bomber a few months ago, but passed it up, now I'm kicking myself. That's life, so I'm building a 1/72 scale one. Really all I need is the bandai TIE Advance x1 to complete. I'll use the wings, interior, and some of its parts to finish the exterior. It won't be accurate by any means, but you'll get the idea.   Meybe I'll make it a First Order TIE Bomber. We'll see.

Lol. Yeah I'd love to build a TESB version. Its just the matter of accuracy, I don't feel comfortable calling it a TESB version without being anywhere near screen accurate. So I may come up with my own variation, something imperial era. Like a TIE reconnaissance, or something. Add some sensors and stuff like that.

1/72 TRY Bomber.
« Reply #254 on: March 04, 2016, 04:59:58 PM »
I got my Bandai Advanced TIE today, Amazon Prime is awesome. I started mocking up the parts, I temporarily glued it all together to see what I need to change. Its a little wide and crooked, but I can fix that. I dunno, its starting to look kinda cool. Its just one of those fun low budget builds. I'll change a few things. I still need to add some greebles, and something to make it really unique, to make it a cool variant. Like reconnaissance/light bomber, or something. Or a couple of defensive turrets. I'll think of something.
