Nice I have to go share this.

We do have a misc., other section too if there is something that doesn't fit in a standard custom thread too.

That is a really nice sculpt.
Is it any alien we know or your imagination?
Either way,  if this was the trial run,  I can't wait to see what you do in the future.

You still can use it for a figure. You just have to dremel  out a peg hole on the bottom.   If you don't have a dremel, you could try a power drill.  Fill the hole 1/3 full with something easy to carve like greenstuff and shove your head onto the peg.   When cured,  carve off the excess greenstuff till the head gets the range of motion you're looking for.

I'll have to try the supersculpey.
The unlimited work time intrigues me .

Thanks, it's just something that I was playing around with, to see how well I could do a head sculpt of an alien like creature.

As for working it on a figure...my fear is, super sculpey needs to be baked to harden, and I'm scared of melting the base figure.  I really love how the super sculpey feels, as it's incredibly smooth, almost rubber like, but not tacky like green stuff.  I use aves fixit on my figures, but texture wise, it's not as smooth as I'd like it to be while working with it (it's dries very smooth, but it's not the easiest to work with).  The problem with fixit, is that I need to let it sit for over half an hour before working with it, but by then, you're workable work time starts to decrease pretty quick.  It takes about 4 hours to cure, but well before then, it's already too tough to work with, so it's not so forgiving if you make mistakes.  Also, fixit isn't cheap, and because of it's nature, a lot of it ends up getting thrown away.

I've read somewhere that I could mix fixit with the super sculpey to extend the work time, but still will get hard without baking.  I'm going to give that a try.

Del Moomo turned out really well. I happen to agree with you about scale in Star Wars figures - its all over the board. Love the Mandos as well. I'm always impressed with your skill and attention to detail. Love the Scupley head sculpt as well.

When I heard that we were getting 5 PoA figures, I was bummed out, so I decided to make my own Kylo Ren.
He uses a Marauder Task Force base figure, so not only does he have exceptional articulation, but he stands at a tad bit over 4".

I have to redo the belt as it came out rough, and I need to redo the lightsaber, as I didn't make it long enough, but you get the idea of what the finished figure is like.
The helmet is fully sculpted over a snake eyes head, and I even made sure to sculpt the back of the helmet as to what I've seen on the web (even though it remains hidden under the hood for the most part).  At this scale, it wasn't easy doing the helmet, but I think it looks pretty decent.

Happy Force Friday.

Wow! Ren turned out really well. I like your soft goods work, and the head sculpt is really amazing.

Sorry it has taken me so long to front page this one. Just awesome work. So much better than the ones Hasbro is cranking out.

Original helmet sculpt.   WOW!   nicely done.
I like the soft goods too.

BTW,  I know what you mean about the Sculpey. It would be great for accentuating  plastic if it weren't for the baking.  I ruined about 2 hours of sculpt work by baking it on a base of 2 component plastic repair resin.

On the bright side of that experiment,  I know what medium to use if ever make  Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru from their last scene. 8-o

Aves and Greenstuff are what I use for sculpting.   I only mix what I think I can use in about 30 minutes.

Yep. that's what I use on figures as well.  Depending on what I'm doing, I'll either just use aves fixit, or just greenstuff...or a mixture of both.
