I know vac metal is a hard paint look to achieve. I remember Hasbro telling us a c3po was delayed cause they couldn't get the vac metal look right. This product sure does look good. Does it come in different colors besides Chrome?

I was pleased with the way the chroming came out. Time will tell how it holds up. I used a brush on acrylic gloss finish to seal without too much loss to the shine.

Sadly, Molotow does make a gold but it is not well received. The results are quite matte, very similar to the finish you would get from an acrylic gold paint like I've used in the past.

Looks great to me. Thanks for answering about the gold. Shame they can't get the same results as they do with the chrome. It looks great.

Off to share.

Yep, I like the chrome results. I picked up the fine tip pen last weekend. I’m itching to try it out.

Well, gold still seems to be a different story...3PO still turned out nice, though! The chrome pen did an excellente job - very cool projects, again!

Thanks for sharing & greetings from Germany!

The chrome droid looks great.
Maybe you can try to get a shiny effect for the gold with transparent gloss varnish.

Starting a new droid courtesy of Hole In the Ground.

Working on the inserted light source before I start the paint and add ons.

I recently gave a presentation on customizing for a local "We Can't Go To Celebration Star Wars Event."

And finished ROTJ Emperor Palpatine with alternate Sith Lightening Attack head and hands.

The Emperor utlilizes the articulated body which was utilized in a few different multi-packs over the years along with the robe from the Phantom Menace Darth Sidious, the Target Exclusive Force Link Emperor head, hood, hands, cane, and lightening hands. The grimacing head was repainted to match the Force Link head's coloring.

The presentation was a great idea! I would've participated. What did you show the crowd there? I'm curious. Your Emperor looks great as well as the droid from Hole in the Ground! Fun projects there! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your kind words, my friends.  It's good to be back playing with plastic again.

My library presentation inspired me to add an instructional element to my FB page...

Meanwhile, I'm making a little bit of progress on the Lars Homestead Security Droid

after a failed light test...

and an unfortunate drilling mishap, I've carved out the lighting cavity and installed magnets.

The treads can be removed and act as a cover.
