Loose figure storage
« on: August 05, 2009, 05:06:00 PM »
Here's something that I have had in mind for a long time, and now it's finally coming together! I had been wanting to get an old dresser that's still in good condition and make it into a figure storage unit. Luckily I found one that someone was throwing out this last spring, and since then I am slowly starting to move my figures into it. Each drawer holds six trays, three deep. The trays are made of wood with a thin cardboard bottom. I've custom made backgrounds for each figure as well. I now have one drawer complete. Five more to go!

That is quite an idea. And it displays pretty well too. Good job.

Great Idea !! cept for the fact once closed you can't see your figs.  :-\

As a suggestion you could cover the inner trays with plexiglass and hang a couple on the wall above the chest and change them out periodically.  ;)

But that's just me !!

You know me. I love the look of wood with my storage solution too. I think this is just an awesome idea.

I also love Rodger's idea of plexiglass trays. I would make em all plexiglass and do the fronts of the drawers with a semiglass front. Heck, you could use the existing drawer fronts and just route out the center section and replace it with tempered glass or plexiglass too.  All in all, this is just a great idea and has given me a few ideas about perhaps some cabinet / drawer fronts I might use in my den area for some of my goodies.

Thanks for showing us this James. I just love to see how people store and display thier SW items.

That's a very cool idea only it takes up too much space for my needs.

I like it!  I have some drawers built into my walls in my SW room, so maybe that'd be a solution to my loose collection since I'm running out of room for my GG mini busts and SSC figures!

Great Idea I just put mine in plastic baggies and put them in a rubbermaid tote I like your idea better. easier to find a figure.
