When Order 66 was given,  what happened to the droids ?  Were they put into storage ?  Or were they melted down for beer cans and Toyotas ?  Thom

Interesting question. One would assume they were mind wiped and discarded.  I wonder how many like R2 survived with thier memories intact? Beer cans would sure be a good use though. LOL.

I assume you mean the Trade Fed droid armies?  The basic battle droid was controlled remotely, so they could be sold off as-is for labor droids.  (I think they were a derivation of a labor droid to start with?)  More specialized droids like the B2 & Droideka models would need more significant work on their processing cores to render them suitable for a civvie market.  I can see stripped bodies with no weapons or processors being offered for sale.  Heck, that'd be a great way to stimulate the economy - create a need for specialist droid reconditioning services.

I'm thinking a lot of the higher-end droids got recycled for their raw materials.  Altho... a crime-lord with a handful of droidekas could be an interesting problem...

I would assume that the astromechs and the protocol droids were memorry wiped and continued to be used throughout the empire. 

idk what the other battle droids would be used for.  Perhaps like that episode of clone wars where the kid reprogramed them to serve his needs happened all over.

after the droid factory shut down on mustafar the new impier took over discarding all of the left over droids in to the smoldering its of lava or recycled in to beer cans ?  ;D

Well, if I were palps, I'd use them for the empire until they crapped out... give them some intelligence upgrades (I've personally always believed they were stupid because they were essentially designed to lose, since the whole war was Palpatine's plot to rule the galaxy, etc), and stick them on duties that were too dull / dirty / dangerous for clones and organics... might as well get as much use out of them as you can. Hey, maybe some of the really worthwhile ones were handed Stormtrooper uniforms. I mean hey, aside from the EU stuff, do you really KNOW the royal guards were humans?    ;)

Well I can't confirm the Imperials makeing beer cans but I can confirm Imperial Brew.  How, I have some  ;)   Sam Adams Imperial Stout, now these are in bottle but if they show up in cans, we then know where the battle droids went :)

LOL. Now that is one brew I am gonna have to bring home. Maybe they put it in bottles so you wouldn't notice the metallic aftertaste.
