Thanks spooky.......I'm going for comfort with the interior,the exterior I'm going for accuracy.
Here's some pics of the repaired bucket,completely stripped it of all trim and decals,masked up the nose vent as its black mesh and securely mounted.
The helmet isn't a vac formed PVC job,it's a properly cast item. I imagine if it was PVC it would've bounced.
The thing I like about this lid is its workable,PVC gets scratched,dinged or scuffed that's it but with this if the paint gets scratched I can polish it out. If it gets damaged its repairable. I've prepped it for paint,thick coat of primer wet flatted back and the first basecoat applied.
Tomorrow I'll wet flat it again and apply another coat,another flat then final topcoat and laquer. This is gonna shine once its buffed.
