AT-ST
« on: March 08, 2013, 06:36:40 PM »
Team,

I picked up a vintage AT-ST snap tite kit last week, and thought I'd share a peek at what I'm doing with it...be nice though...this is the first time I've ever tried a hand at making a "diorama" base for a model.

I'll pop some more pics up when it's finished..

LOL thanks!

I basically need to clean up the edges of the frame, and then paint it black to provide some contrast, and then add a couple of small details to the kit...but yeah...I was in my local hobby shop, and saw something similar done to a WWII tank model, and I thought I should try it with the AT-ST...It turned out a lot better than I imagined it would, and didn't seem to be as hard as I thought it would be...
Beginners luck I suppose.

Woah, How did I miss this. Very cool. Well I was gonna go to bed, but this has got to hit the front page tonight. Awesome work.

I was in the midst of solving some forum database issues over the weekend and just upgraded the forums so I think I hopefully won't have that problem again.

Nice work man, hard to tell this is your first diorama base! I love the snow weathering on this.

This looks like the work of a seasoned pro! I love that base and the scale of this piece. More pix when you can, please. :)

I have no idea how I missed his but this is beautiful work! Those model kits look really good and your diorama is really nicely done.
