PrimitiveTodd's New Republic Commandos
« on: March 05, 2013, 04:40:05 PM »
Hi all,

Here are a few images of some customs that I have recently finished.  Not particularly technical, just cutting, trimming, painting, taping (yes taping), etc...

First up:

A Rebel Medical Officer.  The body is a Hoth Leia (Jacket, boots, and gloves repainted) and the head is a Shira Brie with hair painted black.

A Sullustan A-Wing pilot.  The body is from the Jake Farrell figure, with repainted spats (tan) and strapping (white).  The head is a Ten Numb with a chopped helmet from the same figure.

This is a standard Mon Cal officer with cloth medical tape added around the waist to hide the terrible gaps between the hips and body.  The tape is painted military tan and so are the arms of the figure so they actually match! ;)  The second image also uses painted, cloth medical tape on an older Admiral Ackbar that I also painted tan and added the headgear from the other Mon Cal officer...

So painted medical tape again.  These figures are painted to look like the "Falcon Crew" in ROTJ (they are more prominant in the Blue Ray deleted scenes section). Both bodies are Rebel Ground Crew figures, both vests and helmets are from Endor troopers, the first head is a Farlander (unknown navigator in ROTJ) and the second is a Gen. Cracken (probably Lt. Blount though).  The spats are just tan-painted medical tape.

This is my interpretation of Gen. Cracken from ROTJ.  The body is the VC Cracken and the head is a Endor trooper head with the headset.

Next is my reconstruction of Gen. Horton Salm:

The body is from Ten Numb, the head is a Soontir Fel, and the helmet is from Tycho Celchu (simple replacements on this one)

Princess Leia - X-Wing Pilot:

The body is a Shira Brie, the head is a Leia Hoth, and the helmet is a repainted Shira...again simple swapping...

ENJOY!!!

Hi all,
Here are some pics of my New Republic commandos.  A few are the same custom figs. that I have put up before, so I am not re-posting close ups.  The weather was nice for a wee bit so I got a few images outside too.  More in the works...Enjoy!

Hi all.  My New Republic Commando idea is now slowly turning into a short story.  The next part being using the commandos to extract a downed reconnaissance Y-Wing pilot near an Imp. outpost.  The Y-Wing shown is an older one that I decided to modify/partially melt to simulate turbolaser damage.  You will see more of that Y-Wing soon.

The Imps. converge on the downed Y-Wing

The firefight ensues...

General Cracken directs the extraction

Nice close up of the turbolaser damage to the left engine and R2 unit

Extraction in progress

Extraction complete, but the Imps recover the Y-Wing
