Clone Wars Sharkmouth Gunship
« on: June 11, 2009, 08:06:28 AM »
Back when cartoon network ran the original Clone Wars animated series, there was an episode that I think was titled Hunt for Grievous in which this gunship was shown with a squad of clones trying to track down General Grievous. It was one of my favorite episodes.
Today, I opened my sharkmouth gunship which now, is an oldie but a goodie.

The gunship comes out of the box as the main body, two wings, the lower platform/floor, the side doors, the cockpit canopy, the aft gun barrel, 4 firing missiles "two for the top launchers and two for the chin launchers which double as gun barrels" and two types of bombs that mount under the wings and inside the doors.

First off, the paint job is awsome and that sharkmouth design really sets off the mood of this ship.

I had mentioned the 4 firing missiles but I'm sure that you also know of the floor section with foot pegs that drops at the touch of a button so that you can do a dust-off move and deploy your clones at the same time. The canopy opens exposing a cockpit with enough room for two pilots. I would have appreciated a couple of control panel stickers, here. At the touch of a button, the side doors will swing back to the open position. Also, there is room and a pair of slots for carrying a speeder bike in the cargo area. I will get a pic up of this, later.

It's a great ship, guys, and worthy of any Clone Wars fan's collection. I will display it proudly.

I thought it was funny that while writing this review, my cat decided to investigate the empty gunship box that was sitting on the livingroom foor.

Well, it was a shark gunship. Kitties love fishy things.

LOL. Hilarious. Great review as usual Clint. I don't know how you find the hours in the day to do all of the things you do.

Here are the shots that I promised. First up, here are a couple of pilots from the evolutions pack crammed into the cockpit's seats. Next, here is a shot of a rots speeder bike loaded up into the back. There are slots in the angled part of the floor to keep the bike's "feet" secure. The doors will shut and open with the bike in place plus, you still have some room for troops.

And, here are a  couple of action shots using the figures from the Hunt for Grievous battle pack to emulate the scene from the cartoon.

that is just awesome. two of my favorites. the gunship and the hunt for grievous battle pack. along with the evolutions pilots, that just looks sweet.
i have been trying to get my hands on one of these for years.
i finally got two shark mouth arc-170's and opened one and  have two of the evolution blue pilots with an elite arc-170 battle pack clone, and that looks almost as good. i want to try to make an aots arc-170 elite clone to be the gunner and maybe get around to chopping up one of the build a droid r2 type units to put in with them.
are the rots speeder bikes about the same design and dimensions as a tesb bike? ive not seen one up close, but it looks alot like they are the same.
that is a great looking ship and your pics really did it justice. thanks for sharing this one.

Thanks, DRS!! TESB bike, do you mean the one from the hoth patroll battle pack. I haven't checked but I am pretty sure that they are the same.
I am anxious to see how your chopped BAD astromech works out for your Arc-170. I do like those evo pilots, though. They are my favorite, so far.

I do believe this is my favorite gunship to date, I hope they release Captain Fordo soon so my squad has a commander.
