3.75/ 1:18th female figure sculpts
« on: June 10, 2009, 11:58:51 AM »
I know we have a list of "non sw lines" for 3.75 inch figs but something that I've seen lacking in the industry, especially in the star wars lines are good female figure sculpts.  I've been trying to do a few female figs lately (see my thread) and only find a few every now and then that work well.

I'm starting this thread hoping someone else has a good set of figs they've used that I can refference.  when I can get a chance I'll list the few female sculpts that I realy like using...

hmm, golden compass and indiana jones had a few cool females.

I think it doesn't get any better than juno eclipse, though, if you like the girl in uniform look.

I'm thinking of figures that have more versatility than just the uniform... that's all you can use juno's body for...  ::)

Body wise there's not much out there for females I usually just buy the figure for the head and put it on the desired figure I'm going for mostly Jedi, but it would be nice to see dressed up figures for senatorial reasons. You usually have to modify an existing SW female body into the desired look.

so far the only figures that I've seen that I realy like are microman figures.  Mostly the base figures they made for customizers, I believe it was called the "elemental series" but I'm not sure on that I'll have to look it up.  The only thing is that I believe the microman figures are 4" instead of 3.75.  So they are a little tall.  OF course the new 25th joes are about 4" anyway...

The only other figs I've realy liked are the joe figures and the best one from that set is the Scarlett figure.  I've used a few of them and with some sculpting they can be pretty versatile.

the new movie will come out with a few good joe female figs, but a few are just butt ugly...

I'll come back on here later and post some photo reference pics of the figs i've found that I like

Well I know that female Mando you just showed us with the tatoo on her leg was awesome. Can you imagine the sales Hasbro would make if they just gave us a fig that looked ever close to her?

lol thanks tamer, that was just a scarlett figure with a little plastic surgery ;)  amazing what a boob job can do for a girl....

here are those ref. pics I promissed:

Gi-Joe Rise of Cobra

Gi-joe Baronness
"attack on the pit"

Scarlett Desert ambush

^I can't wait to get ahold of a few of these!^

Gi-Joe 25th aniversary:

Barroness:

Scarlett:

Lady Jaye

I like this one but havn't gotten one to use yet because Idk what I'd do with it...

Microman:
I realy like the look of some of the microman figures, I realy like the fact that they come with interchangeable hands in different positions too.  IDK if they'd be the EXACT right scale however as I have yet to find a picture of one standing up next to a star wars figure.  I think the microlady figures could work very well for several customs with just a head swap and new paint.

Micro-Lady

link to more about her:

Micro "action series"

Evangellion Girls:

Super girl:

cutie honey:

catwoman

batgirl:

"Lupin III 40 Ann Fujiko VS Microlady"

Micrman material Force:

They are nice sets but are discontinued and are expensive to obtain but the sculpting is nice and they have alot of extra hands and such....

Like I said though I don't know if any of those Microman figures will work set up next to star wars figures....  I'm going to have to get one eventually just to see.

I never cared much for the Micro figures as the ultimate articulation detracted from the aesthetics of figure, some do look very cool though.

agreed, they are the only figures I could ever see using softgoods on, mostly to hide the joints.

I don't think the articulation realy distracts from much.  I mean it is an action figure, in my mind they don't have to look realistic or in proportion...  For that reason I like the look of the microman figs.  then again the double jointed elbow does look funny to me, but that's probably due to the fact that I've stared at star wars and joe figures for so long that I consider that "normal"
