Avengers - variant rocket-grenade Cap?

Picked this up at a non-local WalMart a couple of weeks back.  Only one I've seen in ... 4 WalMarts, a TRU, and a Target.  Normally, he has the headgear as shown in the pic...

I got him so I can mold/cast his head.  But... if he's rare... should I do that?  (Wow - me?  worrying about ruining the collector's value of a figure???)

hahahaha!!  I knew that'd get a response from Tamer!!  Really, I'd like to find another one, so I could keep one sealed and one to customize.  I have plans for the rest of him, too.  Star Wars plans.  Bounty hunter plans.
