Had to go share this. Bet you will sell out by the end of the day. Can I put in an order for the next painted one you do?

I just got into it with a person on FB who thinks your price is outrageous. I pointed said person in the direction of what the set costs and humbled them a bit. I think some folks have no idea of the work that goes into things like this or what the going rate is for an average six inch figure, let alone something like this.

Clint thank you for always being willing to give us things we may never have a chance to stumble upon on our own. You are a credit to our hobby my friend. Off to share.

Thanks for fighting my point, buddy. The way I see it, there is no point selling these for less than they are worth to me.
$10 worth of resin, $30 for the mold, and two hrs of time for the painted one. When you are selling parts, time is money.
Don't forget that eBay will get 9% of the take on that one including shipping cost.

I will make you one of these though and may change the paint work slightly.
I plan on priming the next one black first to possibly drop the gunmetal a shade darker and will probably paint up the side details more than the factory version did.

$39 isnt bad for this, it looks great and painted to boot!

If I was really interested in getting the HIC, $40 is not too much......now if it was $60+ then maybe, but $40 isnt bad for this piece

thanks, spooky. It wasnt hard to paint this piece. took me about an hour. Pretty nice compared to me pouring for hours over a figure's paint job.

That's good work, Clint!  As a fellow caster, I agree with you on pricing that one.

Casting solid is better, I think - unless you are building the piece yourself and can engineer it to be hollow.  I'm redoing the Echo Base Console with that end in mind - makes the early phase a little more challenging, but should make things easier later on.

I figured it would take a lot of material to cast this big boy, Clint. Looks great, especially the hollow one. That baby would be sweet to add some LEDs to. Gonna have to swing by your store this week, to order one and order a set of those ST buckets!

Thanks fellers. I had the same thought about lighting it up but would want it contained within the block. Looking now perhaps for a set of rice lights with a battery pack small enough. Guess I could try to learn the fiber optic thing.

I used a foam insert in the solid one to save on resin and weight.
The solid one weighs 7/10 of an once more than the hollow one but I don't think I used any more resin.
Still takes a lot, though. When you mix up that much at a time, it heats up and starts to cure that much more quickly. Gotta work fast during the pour to get the air bubbles out.
