Re: Vintage Kenner Custom for Tamer...

Yay! I finally get to jump in on this thread! Wookie-balls- Love evrything you've done here! You are the only "restoration" thread I've ever found. I've seen the cards available on ebay and have considered restoring a set of vintage just to have a set of carded vintage(99% of mine are open). Just need to slowly by loose figures, a few at a time.

With the restoration guys on Ebay, I'm surprised no one makes decals for the Cantina or the droid factory. My droid factory needs washed badly! I slao need to replace a few parts. Id really like to clean up all my vintage sets and put them in rubbermaid tubs intead of the old lousy voxes I have them in.

Next up from me on the vintage front is this guy...

The YPS Hoth Stormtrooper. YPS was a comic in Germany that came with a free toy. In this particular issue the toy was a Star Wars Hothtrooper!

I'm trying to add a bit of variation to my Imperial Hoth forces!

These figures came in a  poly bag with a white cape with round holes rather than slits for mounting on the figure. They also shipped with a Palitoy "Action Force" rifle rather than the standard blue Kenner version

I found this figure at a car boot sale here in the UK. This guy is slightly different to the normal Kenner/Palitoy version. He has a wider stance and the plastic is of a harder quality. He has the country of origin scarred out although be has the LFL trades (which leads me to believe that this may be a Trilogo figure rather than YPS!)

I have supplied the correct Action Fore rifle and a reproduction round hole Kama.  Next stage with be a peroxide bath to clean him up - then he will be ready to join the ranks of my Imp Army!!

Stay tuned for more!

WB Out!!

The renowned YPS Snowtrooper, wow! I love the vintage Snowtrooper and have about 15 of them. Most of them have repro capes (kamas didn't exist yet back in the 80s), but I'm not picky about that. As long as the figures are the real deal (and they are) and are of C8-9 quality.

My absolute favourite is the Royal Guard, though. Have 13 of them or so as well :D

Hm, I'll have to make another vintage shopping run on eBay to add to the ranks!

Thanks guys - I have to point out that first three pics are from the net and not my own!

HOWEVER...

I've just managed to get my hands on a genuine vintage YPS circle hole cape to complete  my trooper!!!

Haha even better! Just back from the MK Collectormania show

Only made a low level purchase including a meeting the lovely Kenny Baker

But check out that top middle Hoth Stormie...

Believe it or not, I found another YPS Trooper hidden amongst a big bin of vintage figures! New to get a rifle for him though - I do however now have a spare repro YPS cape for him recently freed up!!

Has anyone come across the peroxide here in the states? I recently won an auction where I got Leia, Chewie and both versions of Han. Chewie looks great, just need to touch up his bandolier. Big head Han is almost perfect. There's a bit of wear on his hair. Small head Han will need more touch up and Leai is the worst, She has to have the bath.

I also dug out the box that I got a got a replacement Luke card in a while back. It has two Lukes. One needs minor touch up, one the torso is very yellow. So, if I can find the peroxide, they are having a bath together.

well. I finally got my peroxide today. I have a pickle jar I put Luke and Leia in, dropped in a dash of bleach and filled it with the peroxide. It's currently upside down in the back yard. I put it lid down so the sunlight will penetrate it. The jar of peroxide filled the pickle jar, so I hope I can reuse the stuff for another set of figures.
