Mal Reynolds.  Firefly.

Used a 6inch Han Solo as the base.

Shiny?

As awesome as this custom is i went to my local ToysRUs and found a Funko Firefly wave 1, with all 5 of the main Serenity crew. Also next to a horrible Funko Rocketteer the jet pack might be usefull tho... Funko also does the Game of Thrones figures all series are 6"s

I know. right after I'd decided to make this I saw those advertised.  I'm planning on getting me some of them eventually.

Well damn...  I spent about 10 minutes making a post about this project, explaining every detail of the build... then the forum timed out or something and it lost the post.

So, here's the abridged version...  Found a boba-fett unleashed at a flea market... I put a light it in and weathered/re-painted it...

orginal:

Repainted parts:

Gutted an LED lamp:

cut a hole for the switch, stuck it all up underneath, rewired it, and hot glued it in place:

Looks awesome:

That is EPIC!!
Great job! I had the same idea years ago but never got around to buying a second Unleashed Boba Fett to mod with lights. I have to make one for myself now that I know it looks Awesome!

Ben and Iambobafett, thanks for the compliments.  This was a fun little project and actually was super easy.  Anyone can do it, go get one for yourself!!!

Alway on the lookout for stray fetts.  Gotta give them a home!

Btw...  is no one else concerned about how he fixed his blaster after it was cut apart by Luke BEFORE falling into the pit?  This is depicting him blasting his way out right??

Devin, I am sure he had time to fix it during the digestion process. I mean he had a plethora of other  parts to choose from I am sure.

spudafett's 6inch episode 7 Finn in trooper armor
« Reply #703 on: December 20, 2015, 12:31:40 PM »
I saw the movie. loved it. Knew immediately I had to do a custom Finn with his armor from the first battle.

I knew others had done the basic headswapping.  I was pleased to find out the neck ball for the trooper body fit's Finn's head perfectly.  I then took the trooper head and hollowed it out with the dremel until it fit over finn's head.  Unfortunately fitting it over Finn's head distorts the helmet a little and makes it look skinny...

I then weathered it and added the bloody finger streaks.

Enjoy:

pre-paint and helmet mods:

after dremeling out the helmet:

final paint:

I know it's been done.  And I know hasbro will probably put out their own version... but what do you guys think?

The weathering looks great and very accurate.
