I picked up these awesome toys at Argos this morning!

The "Doctor Who" "Into The Dalek" Time Zone playset was never imported into the US by any of the usual outlets for "Doctor Who" merchandise so I thought I would never get one. I got it on super clearance for £6.99 (approx $9.19 US) down from the original release price of £49.99!

I really only wanted the black/red/silver Dalek Hoverbout so at the price I got it for, all of the figures and the cardboard backdrop are gravy.

I also picked up the "Thunderbirds Are Go" villain "The Mechanic". This Series 2 figure, along with the repaints of the Series 1 Thunderbirds Team never made it to the US due to the poor sales of Series 1. I have no real interest in "Thunderbirds Are Go", but the figure was on sale for £4.99 (approx $5.09 US) and with a repaint will make for an excellent seedy spaceport mechanic.

My wife and I took one last trip to Sainsburys before we head home to the US tomorrow. I found the last "Dino Valley" dinosaur I was missing (Spinosaurus - top of pic) and grabbed the last 2 T-Rexes they had on the shelf.

During the 2 weeks we have been in the UK, we have been buying necessities (mostly cold drinks and such) at a place called Sainsburys. They were having a promotion in which for every £5 you spent you received an exclusive 2 card pack of "Lego: Create The World" trading cards and for every £10 you spend you got an exclusive 4 card pack.

I ended up with two 2 card packs and five 4 card packs. They are all unopened and in perfect condition having been packed inside several flat items we are bringing home.

I have no interest in them at all so they will be up for trade after we get home.

I was out running errands today and found myself near the Toys R Us in Totowa so I stopped in to see if there were any new releases that I had not seen.

I saw the final wave of "Ghostbusters" figures which contains the "Terror Dog" that I had been waiting to be released! As I am turning the big four-four on Sunday, I decided to treat myself to an early birthday present and grabbed both of the Terror Dogs that they had in stock (the figure comes with 2 sets of horns to make the figure either Zuul or Vince Clortho).

These creatures are going to look great in my sci-fi/fantasy menagerie.

I also found these cool little dragons at Dollar Tree in Clifton. They are approximately 4" long and made of a somewhat flexible vinyl.

They had a box full of them but I only grabbed these 3 as they had the least amount of glue spillage around the bases of the wings.

They need full repaints but are not bad for $1 each.

I hit up the Walmart in Secaucus today while running errands. I picked up some metallic and GITD paints for future projects for $1.77-$1.97 each.

I wanted GITD Blue and Green as well but they were out of stock so I will have to go back another time.

After lunch I hit up a discount store called "Amazing Savings". I almost never visit as it is a pain in the backside to get into their parking lot. I found a display of small articulated animals by Tomy. They had 3 different dinosaurs (T-Rex, Stegosaurus + Triceratops), 2 different tigers (orange/black striped and white/black striped but same mold), a hippo, a panda, an alligator and a few others.

I bought every single alligator that they had, 25 in total (I got the display bucket as well for free since I bought them all) for $1.29 each. I passed on the dinosaurs as they were not all that great. I passed on the other animals as they were all pretty small for 1/18 scale. The gators make for great juveniles.

3.75" Boss Fight Studio "Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S." figure for scale.

I had no idea that Jakks Pacific had produced a second series of "Warcraft" movie figures!

I found Gul'Dan today at Target in Clifton after lunch and had to buy it as this character was my overall favorite design in the movie.

Apparently there are only 2 figures in Series 2, Gul'Dan and Garona (half Orc female character).

I found the GITD Green acrylic paint I was looking for today at the Walmart in Garfield!

Sadly it looks like the GITD Blue is no longer being produced by Plaid/Folk Art :(

I'm not a big fan of comics, but I picked up Alan Moore's Saga of the swamp thing vol 1, on Amazon. It's part of a 6 volume collection of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing comics. Volume one starts at Swamp Thing #20-27 writren in '83-84. The collection was published in 2012 by DC, however it has the Vertigo logo on the cover.
This comic series is intense. It's a horror story, but I would describe it as more of a psychological thriller. Pretty much every character is insane. I would highly recommend this book series for anyone who likes weird stories, monster stories, Frankenstein. I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just say it's pretty deep, for a comic. It is for mature audiences. It can be a little wordy at times, but overall it's very interresting. I couldn't put it down.
BTW. they reference Planarian worms, I did some research, and the planarian worm experiments did happen. Pretty crazy stuff.

Pretty good pick ups. I like those Warcraft figures.

My nephew was just talking about Swamp Thing this weekend as I was traveling to attend his graduation. I might have to pick that up for some fun summer reading.

I liked Saga of the swamp thing vol 1 so much I got vol.2. It's Alan Moore's collection of Saga of the Swamp Thing #28-34, written in '84-85.
This volume was even weirder than the first.   It was super creepy. They remind me of Edgar Allan Poe and Dante's Inferno.  For example the PLUT...PLUT...PLUT, in the beginning and the end of the story, while Swampy digs his grave and narrates his insanity, in #28 "The Burial". Similar to the Tell Tale Heart, or the Raven. #31 Swampy is led through different stages of purgatory and Hell, by Deadman, Stranger, Spectre, and Etrigan the poetic demon. The short story #32 "POG" was really neat, it had nothing to do with the rest of the story, but I liked it. These cute little cartoonish aliens come to earth to find a new home after these brutes destroyed their old planet. Swamp thing shows them mankind, and they promptly left.  The whole volume took a little getting used to, but I really enjoyed it.

My souvenir t-shirt from the Doctor Who Experience arrived today!

When we visited the Experience, they were out of my size and told me they would mail it out to me when it was restocked. It came in today.

I also received 2 incomplete Jakks Pacific giant "Godzilla" (2014) figures today from my mother in law!

Her neighbor was throwing them out but she and my wife grabbed them for me. They are both missing the ends of their tails and one is missing its left hand, I wrote Jakks Pacific regarding the availability of replacement parts, but I can customize them into battle scarred Kaiju if none are available :)

love the Godzillas. So tempted to get one myself. Sure did like the new movie. Can't wait to see the big guy in action again.
