While running errands this morning, I stopped at one of the "dollar stores" near my house and picked up these knights for the swords and shields.

The figures are junk, hollow torsos, lots of untrimmed mold flashing and the backs of the limbs and heads have empty depressions where the manufacturer cheaped out to save on materials. They are not useless though. With some flash trimming, filling the empty depressions and a complete repaint, they could work as suits of armor in dioramas.

The swords are pretty nice. The shields as well, but they need handles added to the back as there was only a single horizontal peg on the back. All require repainting though.

The crossbows are just weak. The arrows turn upwards at a 30 degree angle for no other reason than poor manufacturing.

Recently I traded a couple of my 6" customs for a ton of 50th anniversary Gi Joe figures. They were mint in box, but I told him to go ahead and bag them, since I'll do that anyway, and that saved him some shipping cost. last time I owned Joes was in the early 90's before they started getting weird. So naturally I wanted the 25th anniversary figures, because they're remastered versions of the originals. However some characters look too much like Village People,  like Shipwreck and Spirit Iron-Knife, so a modern version was welcomed. For the most part they are re paints of the 25s, but some are new sculpts. The re-paints I dont like are, Bazooka and Dusty, they're painted in that useless aquaflage. Aquaflage only works if you're thrown overboard, in that case you want to be seen. But I digress. Shipwreck and Spirit are re paints of the updated 30th anniversary figures, and they are awesome. The new scupts that I like the most are Gung-Ho and Destro. Gung-ho is taller and bigger than the 25, which is more accurate. He comes with an awesome minigun and ammo belt. Destro's head sculpt looks great, it's more like a helmet/mask than just a chrome head. There's much more, but those were the stand outs. The 50th in general have very cool modern spec ops like accessories. I thought it was a great deal, even if I couldn't negotiate Snow Job, but I can get him easily enough.

Scored some more "Kong: Skull Island" stuff today on 2 different trips to Walmart.

On the first trip in the morning, I got another Skull Crawler and on the second trip in the afternoon I got the 4th and final Skull Crawler I wanted and another Spider set. I still want 3 more Spider sets and then I will be good on this line.

Those spiders seem articulated all over. I could so see someone making some centaur like customs out of that!

They are articulated at the points where the legs meet the body with ball joints so they have a pretty good range of motion.

One of my friends is already planning a "spider centaur" custom as soon as he can get his hands on 1 of these spiders. :)

I got my Amazon order containing all of the 2017 Schleich items I wanted all in one shot!

I have been wanting that Volcano since I saw it at Toy Fair a year back and now I finally have one!

The 2 new dragons are beautiful, especially the green/brown Dragon Poacher.

The Feathered Raptors are just plain awesome!

Picked up another Red Sox figure from ebay for cheap. This one is Jason Varitek. He was a catcher and eventually team captain with the team.

Finally grabbed a PS4. I sold my PS3 and a few games with 2 controllers the other night for $100, so I used that towards the system. I bought a used one, but it looks like its in mint condition. Got it for $274. I bought last years MLB The Show just to fiddle around with the new features. It was $19.99 but apparently there was a sale and I got the game for free.

Toys R Us pricematched Walmart's web price on Falcon (now I have the 6 I wanted) and I had a $5 reward so it only cost $3.17 after taxes!

My old 16 megapixel camera died a few weeks back so I needed a new camera. I got this 20.1 megapixel camera and 128GB memory card at Wal-Mart.

While running errands today, I stopped I to an Army/Navy store in Totowa that I have passed a million times but never visited until today. Most of thier stock was the usual camo gear, knives and airsoft rifles but they also had a cool Velcro backed vinyl unit style patch of the Zombie Outbreak Response Unit symbol that I have on my laptop and all over my car. They had 3 in stock but I bought 2 of them.

Now I need some Velcro for my jacket so I can add the patches to it.

Sweet new camera, just in time for Toy Fair!

Sadly, this camera is crap at taking pcs of small items like action figures so I returned it this evening. I still need to find a good camera before this weekend :(

Varitek is married to the sister of a friend of mine from many years ago.  Varitek seems like a real class guy.

I picked up all of these 6" scale "Mortal Kombat X" figures to be Great Orcs in my fantasy diorama.

They were marked down to $4.98 from $19.99.
