Here are the finished shots of 2nd generation ARC Trooper 187, "Dre". 2nd gen means he was a regular trooper picked from the ranks for displaying critical, independent thinking and trained by the Alpha ARCs, like Cody.
Dre was a history buff, immersing himself in historical holos every opportunity he had. Dre had a particular fondness for the Commando squads of the Old Republic, especially the famed "Red Stripes". Dre patterened his armor color scheme on that famed squad, going so far as to have his (fully earned) red stripe tattooed on his face. Working with Republic Commando squads trained by Kal Skirata put him in contact with Kal'buir. It was thu Skirata that Dre met with Morrn Xi'haaq, one of Mandalore's finest weaponsmiths. Morrn, always willing to help a good Mando boy get a new toy developed the weapon Dre wields. Officially labled as a "MX-a1 Vaporizer", Dre has named the weapon "Suzie". It boasts an amazing 18 rotating barrels, capable of instantly vaporizing a target, hence the designation. Only able to operate at full capacity for ten standard seconds, "Suzie" is linked to a generator Dre wears in backpack form. This lengthens her effective fire rate to 145 seconds. More than enough for Dre, and Morrn continues to tinker with the design.
Dre is my first custom using the new Vintage (oxymoron?) clone trooper body. It is fantastic! I aquired it in a trade, and may have to do clones again!
Quick pics of (some) of my Colonial Marine squad. I started this group a LONG time ago and got disheartened and unwilling to finish them. Trouble procurring parts, more-than-usual paint rub, unwillingness to do camo (I suck @ camo), too large a group, etc. I finally man'd up and set out to work on them in small groups, thru to competion.
