Adventure team: "The Mystery Of The Stone Skull!"Adventure Team Mission Debriefing
Casefile: "The Mystery Of The Stone Skull!"
Joh Kolton ReportingJust recently, Ben, Miik and I decided to take a little trip during some downtime between missions. I had heard rumors for years of an uninhabited planet on the edge of "Wild Space" sometimes called "Eternos". According to the legends, there are ruins of an as-yet undocumented ancient civilization dotting the surface of the planet. The most spectacular feature, again according to the rumors, is a massive stone carving of a humanoid skull (which made Ben proclaim "Great! More mysterious skulls!") which is said to contain unimaginable treasures. It was said that many have tried to find the treasure but no one who has ever travelled to Eternos has ever been reported to have returned.
We took my personal ship, the "Lady Jane", and began heading for the region of the Outer Rim commonly referred to as Wild Space. My sometimes fellow adventurer Dr. Heniree "Indi" Johnz had sent me an ancient map that he had in his posession which was said to give the coordinates for Eternos. After dialing up the Jane's hyperdrive, we headed for the location indicated by the map. After a rather uneventful journey (we only had to fight off 3 pirate "uglies" along the way) we arrived at the supposed location of Eternos and found a dangerous asteroid field!
We navigated our way through the asteroid field and found clear space on the other side. Well, clear anyway save for a beautiful blue and green planet. We had actually found the legendary planet of Eternos! We orbited the planet twice making holographic topographical maps to aid us in our search for the various rumored ruins. The planet's dense flora made our search extremely difficult and we were only able to get trace readings of any possible artificial structures. We decided on the most likely location of the stone skull and began to make planetfall.
We found a decent sized clearing only a few clicks from the pre-chosen spot and began our trek into the unforgiving jungle. After several hours of hiking, we found a clearing underneath an extraordinary naturally (or perhaps, supernaturally) formed canopy of interlocking vines and trees. In the very center of the clearing rose a magnificent humanoid skull carved from an amazing dark green stone. The skull sat atop a raised dias of the same green stone and was flanked on one side by dense vines and by crystal baring grey stone on the other. The openings of the skull were pitch black and seemed to swallow up any light that entered them. Several old, decrepid ropes with primitive grappling hooks were strung into the verious openings, obvious evidence of the previous treasure hunters' presence.
As we approached the stone dias and began to ascend, we heard a deep male voice proclaim "They seek the secrets of Greyskull! Kill the interlopers!". And before we could protest, we were under attack....
