Droid Con 2011
« on: May 15, 2011, 03:24:02 PM »
A good friend of mine recently visited a small little get together, called Droid Con, in Indianapolis Indiana.  Featuring some of the magnificent architects from the R2 Builders Club, the people who create their very own droids are brilliant!  Using anything from wood to machined aluminum and so much more, many of these are fully functional by remote control.  If you have the time and patience, and of course money, you too can build your own droid!  Here are some pics from the event...

I remember some of those from CV. That was perhaps my favorite exhibit. That room they had was cool.

I hate to admit it but yes. That room had so much to see that you could blink and miss some of it. It was crammed full of blinkies and chirps and movie sets and holographs (there was a great one in there of a rebel transport) and seeing those astros close up just boggled the mind. Those astros were true labors of love. I might have to go back and watch that video on our tube channel I have of that room.
