General vintage discussion area. Rant or rave about anything old school.
I will start,
I have been out of the ebay game for a while, but recently I was just snooping around. Seems prices are down in general as well as over all supply of certain items. With the economy as it has been what are some general thoughts on the overall state of the hobby? Are collectors looking at this as a time to tighten up their wallets or a time to get out there and score some sought after items at a fair price?
Me I will say that my hot rods have moved to the front and center and I have not purchased a good vintage item in around 2 years it seems. It's been hard to balance the funding of 2 restoration projects and then still have a SW budget, I have not lost intrest per say, I just have not made it a priority. After almost 15 years being pretty active I now feel on the outside looking back in, it's an odd feeling.
Thought? or on to the next topic of the elusive rocket firing DT saber princess lando

I've been buying a lot of C8 to C9 loose figures and minirigs over the last few months... I've been paying about £8 per figure on average including postage...
Lots of repro weapons still out there and also the repro cards. Unlike a lot of vintage collectors I don't mind either. AS LONG as the are declared to be repro from the offset.
Last 17 loose are still going for a decent sum - I paid about £25 for a super minty A-Wing pilot. seen them go for less as well though.

from what I have been reading around the net, a lot of collectors are moving towards buying full cases online and not bothering with B&M stores anymore or dealing with the poor distribution with the latest waves. It doesnt seem to be the cost of the figures (for the most part) but many have set limits of cost and being more selective in their purchases.
(oops, I just realized you meant vintage vintage, not 2011 vintage........never mind)
