LOL, I felt overwhelmed at first, but proceeded! I have not used the windex yet. I sprayed him black, then started with the water thinning of the paint. I was thinking of using the windex layer as the top coat. Any suggestions?

Jenn considering this is your first astro ,you are doing stupendously well ! i look forward to seeing the finished figure,
as LE said astromechs are considered to be amongst the hardest figures to paint!

Oh, OK. Sure try it for the top coat or if you have any trash/generic figures to try things on use them first. I think you will like the results and you won't mess up anything. I don't see any clumping of any kind so you must be cleaning your brush every 3-4 dips in the pot as well. You are off to a great start!

Looking great so far!  I've repainted a 4-LOM, an FX-7, and several smaller droids.  They are definitely more challenging to paint than humanoid figures.  And I've not even touched an astromech yet.

Thanks so much Jay!!! Yeah these little buggers are tricky, but once you get in the groove with them, it seems to flow nicely ;)

@Luke: I have a Batman from a Happy Meal I can play around with, he's junk :D Lol, I am definately dipping in water and cleaning every 3-4 dips. The technique makes a big difference, thank you ;D

@Doc: Thanks doc! Nice, I think I prefer the human type figures myself. Much easier to work with ;)

That's a really nice job on the new astromech, even if this is the first stab at it.  I have not yet attempted to repaint many droids, but your work has given me some pointers on the approach to take when I do!

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!

Tamer that's not evil! I think it's cool that you want to spend quality SW time with your daughter, and if I can help in anyway just let me know ;)

@Jedimerc: Thanks!
